Pregnancy and mommy check-in Oct 25

Yes, it is supposed to be (and sorry I botched up your name by the way!). There have just been so many people questioning that on the board lately, I had to make light of it. ;)

Amber, I've been called much worse. Yes.....for once I'm not in a "hurry' to get her new release! LOL When I preordered (I was number 7) I realized that these productions ALWAYS take longer than anticipated. She's always been worth the wait. :D

Not a great day here. :(

My ob/gyn came in this AM and made some recommendations for a transfer out to the University of Minnesota---where they can monitor and treat my conditions more safely. Mostly a platelet and NICU issue.

The transfer will mean a 14 hour round trip visit for DH & boys to visit me. :( This is really hard for me emtionally being away from my family.

I'm off to take a little nap. Maybe I'll feel more optimistic about things when I'm well rested. ;)

Good morning ladies! Well the morning sickness is slowly coming on. I'm just recovering from a good 30 minute nauseous spell. Thought for sure I was destined for the porcelain throne, but I managed to eat some yogurt and get it under control. I hope this is not a sign of things to come!

Melanie- I'm sorry your family wouldn't be close. That would be really hard to be away from everyone you know but especially your family. I hope your nap helped.

Amber- I'm sorry about the nausea. I never threw up but from about week 7 to week 12-13 I was nauseous every single day. All I wanted was comfort food like bread, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes etc. I couldn't even stomach yogurt but I've heard others say it helped. As much as I hated the nausea, it was my reassurance every day that my baby was doing well.

Well, I have been having mucho pressure and back pain that started just a few minutes ago. Hopefully James is doing some shifting and turning in there, gettin ready for his big debut! But nothing that feels like contractions yet. Or maybe that is what my back pain is. Who knows? I am so lost with this whole thing.

BBL!

Melanie- Oh no, I am so sorry to hear that you are going to get transferred. This has been one rough ride for you.
Liann- Ahhh, nausea. I feel for you. THere is nothing better than the day that all disappears. One day you will wake up and feel great! For both my pregnancies, it was around 12 weeks. Then I felt great. Do not worry about working out and stuff, just let your body tell you what it wants. I did exercise through this one, and it helped with my nausea, fresh cool air made a huge difference...

Hi ladies
Sorry for not posting much. Yesterday got away from me..I am trying to study whenever Kara is sleeping.
Melanie-14 hours...mann that will be tough! When will you know for sure about the transfer? I called my dr about my problem and he's seeing me tomorrow at 1.....nurse said today was medicaid day and didnt want me to come in today! Im thinking it might be a hernia?? Hope your nap makes you feel better. Just remember its allfor your babies. You and the boys will be back together full time before you know it! You rock!!!
Kara is awake..I will be back in a bit to get to everyone!
Waves to everyone!!!

Wow Melanie, how did I miss your post! I'm so sorry about the distance issue with your transfer. 14 hours roundtrip is rough! :( Will you actually be staying at the hospital until you deliver?

Jen - I hope James is getting in position for you!!! :)

Susan - How old is Kara? I love that name by the way.

Who am I kidding about a nap? I got interrupted about every 20 minutes. You really can NOT rest in a hospital. Period.

I am feeling better though. Low energy though....not really feeling like doing anything but laying here and starring at t.v. or internet. I feel like I'm just floating along for a not-so-calm ride.

I'm thinking I'll be transferred on Thursday via ambulance. That's going to be one boring trip (about 6.5 hrs from here). I'm thinking they won't stop at Burger King for me.... I am so grateful for my chocolate stash......I had a little piece this AM...

I'm not sure if I mentioned that they had me start insulin this AM? They hadn't even changed my diet yet....before just jumping into the insulin. I think my dr wants to "stabilize" me as much as possible before the transfer...which makes sense.

Amber~ I'm not a stranger to nausea/vomiting. With my singletons the nausea lasted until about 12-13 weeks. With the twins it lasted about 15 weeks. About the bedrest....I've been on strict bedrest (bathroom privileges only) since 28 weeks. The hospital transfer will be a continuation of this.

Jen~ your body is preparing! How exciting. Any menstral like cramping?

Christine~ how's the move coming along?

Precilla~ how did the inspection go?

Susan~ I"m glad you're getting in to dr a little sooner. :D

Well......lunch has arrived....I better go eat! Waves to all you wonderful women!!!!!

Hi...boy have I been lazy today. I watched about 5 episodes of Flash Forward and got a whole lot of nothing acomplished. I did end up working out yesterday, I did the easy high step workout, although it wasn't easy anymore!

Melanie - YIKES...is there a Ronald house maybe they could spend a few night in? I know that is hard...praying for you!!

Amber - Oh the nausea, I think mine was until about 11 weeks, but I had the worst heartburn all the time!

Jen - Sending you Labor vibes.

Susan - I am sure it is hard to check in with school, Kara and the rest of the family too, I probably will not exist after the baby is born.

Sorry to anyone I missed...I need to start writing things down to keep up.

Well because of my non-productive day I have tons I need to do tomorrow...lets hope the energy bug bites tonight!

Have a good night.

Kelli

Kelli- How do you like Flash Forward? DH and I watch and really enjoy it! I just hope it doesn't lose its plot line and get cheesy.

Melanie- That will be a long ride in the ambulance. Do you have to lay on a gurney the WHOLE time???

My nipples are achy and sore, like the beginning of pregnancy. Is this normal???

Jen, yes I will be laying flat the entire time in the ambulance. I just got "pre approval" from insurance company that they would pay for the transport. I didn't want to get stuck with a 20K bill for a 6.5 hour trip. lol You're right, it's going to be a long trip. I'm considering asking my ob/gyn for a mild sedative for the trip. DH does NOT want to transport me.......imagine that....something about being scared of delivering the twins in the minivan?:confused:

About nipples, my nipples changed a couple days ago. They look like they're going into "nursing mode". The nipple is flatter & even have little "scab" looking things like they do when I first begin to nurse. I didn't want to touch them and investigate anymore for fear of going into labor......but go ahead.....knock yourself out!:eek:

I'm so grateful for these "short" days. It's 7pm and PITCH BLACK outside. Makes this bedrest gal happy as can be. :D

I've injected myself twice with insulin now. Not bad at all. Just a little sad about it.

Happy night, ladies!

Morning!
I just put Kara down and gonna finish up a chapter before heading to the dr. I will be back after that with more! I am pretty sure I have a vaginal hernia from what I have read.
Amber-Kara was 2 weeks on Monday. Sorry you are feeling sicky...I started feeling good again around week 10-12
Jen-sounds like your gearing up for nursing! Have you noticed any colustrum leaking?
Hi Mealnie, Kelli, Pricilla, Christine, Kristine, Allison, Dawn, Wendy..and soooooooo sorry if I forgot someone. I'll be back after drs appt

HI ladies,

I'm feeling exhausted today, I really want to go home and just stay in bed all day but I can't.

Melanie, I'm sorry to hear you are being transfered, at least I won't be be for too long and it's for your babies' well being. This has been a hard pregnancy for you but I knkow you'll look back at it thinking how worthy it was. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. The inspection is actually on Monday so I'll let you know how it goes.

Amber, hopefully you just get light morning sickness, my sister is 8-9 week s along and she felt nauseated just a couple times and that's it. You may want to try some sour candies.

Susan, hope everything goes well for you in your appointment

Jen, when do you get checked again, hopefully he's not facing your back anymore. My nipples haven't felt sore in months, it may be a good sign for you!

Hi to all the rest of the crew, I'll be back later

Susan, back from your appt yet?

Jen, any changes? Have you had collostrum leaking from your nipples at all? Some people have that prior to delivery. I never did....but it's not uncommon.

Precilla~ thanks for your kinds words. Yes, it has been a long pregnancy. I could do without all these issues,....especially towards the end here.

Amber~ small, frequent, carb filled snacks seem to be everyones favorite first trimester. Keep your tummy satisfied (but not overfilled). Sour things helped mask the metallic taste that I got frequently. Sour patch kids?

DH & boys came to visit today. They were here for 3 hours. Their special packages came while they were here. Jory got a replacement Guitar Hero guitar (his broke about a month ago), the little guys got stampers, paper, Spongebob coloring book. They colored pics for me....and I plan on decorating my new hospital room with them. DH got some "cheater" glasses :D It was so nice to see them! Jadon put his Halloween costume on for me....he's so cute. I broke down and cried when they left....it might be another month before I actually get to see them. I know I have to be strong....the girls need me more than they do right now.....just hard stuff!

I have my first biophysical profile exam today. It's an in depth u/s....where each baby will be "graded" on a scale for breathing patterns, movements, sizes,...etcetra. That's in about an hour.

That's about it on my end....isn't that enough? Whew......I hope I can sleep well tonight!!!

Awe Melanie, that's so tough!!! I can't even imagine what you are going through right now! (((HUGS)))

Thanks for the Sour Patch suggestion. Gives me a good excuse to eat candy! ;)

Kelli - I hear you on the heartburn! I'm actually on Prevacid because of my GERD and I'm stopping that today per my doctor. I'm nervous what that is going to do!

Sprees were the other thing that I ate alot of the first trimester! I was trying to remember what they were called.

Here's a pic of Jadon with his costume on. Justin decided that he was going to be a ladybug.....but he didn't want to put the costume on for me. :( Oh well.....hopefully DH or Jory will remember to take pics!!

Melanie- Your LO is so precious! What a doll! I'm sure the visit with your family made you feel whole again!

No real changes here. Just more achy and more EWCM but nothing to write home about. Hitting that "miserable" feeling stage so I know I am ready. But hey, it only took me 9 1/2 months to final say "I am ready for him to be here." No leaking either.

Priscila- I feel exactly the same way you do. I don't know how I will make it at work another week. I wish I had more time to take off because my body is just so exhausted. Hang in there, hopefully yours will pass. I've had alot more good days in the third trimester than bad up until the last few days.

Susan- How was the appointment? You gettin your reading done? I commend you for being able to take care of Kara, Haley and still find the energy to read. I would be exhausted!
