Hey everyone! Thought I would start off the week after the great holiday! Hope everyone had a good 4th!

Here are some pics I took of my baby stash. The swing and chair and 75% of the clothes have been given to us.

Just thought I'd share! Not too much going on here. Need to scrub floors and continue to clean out closets to make room for baby! BBL!

Wow Jen! You're getting quite the collection. :D I took our Peg Perego Double stroller out of the garage & am cleaning the fabric. I think it's in good enough shape for another round of kids. :D I kinda have a stroller-fetish. But don't want to be frivilous with our $.

17 week check up with dr this Friday. I will NOT forget to ask about elliptical & boating. Silly me, I don't know how I could forget these things. I'm also pushing for an u/s which will reveal sex of this pair,.....and put my mind at ease concerning braxton hicks contractions.

We had one of the best 4th of July's ever. The kiddos took 2nd place in the kiddie parade, and the fireworks were amazing. It was lots of fun.

The weather is awesome this AM. We're planning on going to God's House, then heading to the beach. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this weather!!!!

Waves to all!

Melanie- I'm glad you and your family had a great holiday! My DH worked and I was on call so I spent most of the weekend cleaning and organizing around the house. I don't blame you for wanting to save money. So do we. I already plan on keeping this little guy's clothes stored away until we have our second child. ;) I can't wait to hear if you get to have a gender u/s sooner! I have another dr's appointment tomorrow afternoon. No u/s though. :(

I'll tell you what, my back definitely gives out much quicker on me than before. I can't be up on my feet too long without soreness and pain in my legs. I did manage to finish organizing closets and clothes AND get the floors cleaned after DH's drywall dust was everywhere.

Thinking I'm going to make my sloppy joe recipe for dinner tonight.

Hey, all!

We got back yesterday from our week at the Jersey shore with DH's family. 24 people in on house for one week. It's good to be home LOL

My 28 week appt is this week (though I'm 29 weeks today). I have to do the glucose test (which I didn't do with the drink last time, so I get to taste the chalky stuff this go-round) and get my rhogam (sp?) shot. Last pregnancy, this specific appt took 3 hours, because the hospital lab as backed up. Hopefullly it goes faster this time!

I pulled the big bag of 0-6 month clothes up from the basement tonight. Was pleasantly surprised to realize how much clothing we have that will work for a boy! As DD said, "Wow, Mommy! Dere's LOTS of ducks in here!" Good ole gender neutral clothing -- lots of yellow, light green, light blue, and white -- with lots of ducks :)

Welcome home, Allison. I've never that the glucose test either,...have always refused it (I'm a bad patient), but figure I'll do it this time around b/c of my age & twins.

Jen, my back is sore almost instantenously when I'm on my feet. :( It's really tough @ work b/c I'm sore 30 minutes into my 10 hour shift---and I stand all day. There's a stool there, so I try to sit as much as possible, but feel terribly guilty. I have alot of pressure in my legs/thighs, and even my va-ja-ja lips are super full. Then my boobs start to hurt,....followed by the rest of my body. :( I got a coupy bella bras---which offer back/belly & boob support. They're comfy,..but haven't noticed any pressure off my back. :( *sigh* I'm so glad pg is only 9 mos & not 90!!!!!!

I'll call the dr's office today or tomorrow about getting an u/s Friday. One of my mom-friend's told me that this office does 3D U/S @ the office too. I think those are so neat, and I would really enjoy seeing *two* of them cuddled closely with one another. That will be an August treat for us. :D

Nothing planned today, hoping to get the carpet shampooed in Great Room & the kiddies start swimming lessons. I want to go to the beach again,.....but I suppose I can't live there. I also need to make an appt to get my haircut, it's been about 6 months.....

Have a great day ladies! Christine, you feeling better?

Hi everyone!

Melanie, thanks for posting the tummy shot in the last e-mail chain. Can't believe there are two in there, you look great. :) And thanks everyone for sharing photos and pics of their baby stash. It's getting me excited about the stash I need to pull together.

And hi everyone, else. Sorry to hear about the back and leg pain. You can now officially add me to the butt pain list. I notice it most at work. When I stand up from my desk chair after an extended time, my tailbone actually hurts.

Oh well. I did the timesaver, low-impact premix of Kick Max this weekend and really enjoyed it (it's really only about 25 minutes of low-impact cardio and then the leg drills). I recommend it with modifications for my fellow preggos. I also did the first 20 minutes of Butts and Gutts, with some modifications.

This weekend watching the fireworks (I'm so proud I actually managed to stay awake until 11 pm!), I thought that the next 4th of July, I would have a little baby. It's a scary thought but exciting too.

I'm looking forward to next week--hospital tour, 3D ultrasound, next dr's apt, and baby shower the following weekend. I feel like I'm on the home stretch now!

Hope everyone will have a great and painless if possible day,
Dawn

Hi Dawn! I"m glad you had fun on the 4th. I also was thinking about my wee-ones next year!!! Isn't it fun? I can't wait to hear about your 3D u/s.

I just called dr's office, they will not do an u/s. I didn't push it,......just said I had cramping & would like to have one. They suggested I go have a urinalysis to make sure it wasn't a UTI. The good news is the nurse said I will start my every 2-3 weeks after this visit & will have an u/s @ that time. So not much longer. :D

I had my Great Room prepped for shampooing, but was less than satisfied with the way DS was shampooing the capret. I quickly took over,......and now I"m exhausted & my back hurts, and my right side. :( I overdid it. :( :(

Melanie- Thanks for the reassurance on the back and leg pain. Some days I just feel miserable and wonder if I would feel better working out but can't imagine having THAT much energy. I have found that the warm baths and stretching does help after my back and legs get sore. And I think it helps prevent leg cramps in the night. Sorry they won't do the u/s sooner, that stinks.

Hi Dawn! I thought the same thing on 4th of July this year too! How funny! I'm jealous! I want to be on the homestretch! I haven't even done glucose testing yet. Have fun with your 3D u/s!

Allison- Glad you had a good trip! 24 people!?? Whew! Better you than me! I have to do the glucose test after next appointment. I heard it wasn't pleasant.

Well I had a dr's appointment today and everything was great! He measured my belly and we heard the heartbeat. He said everything looks great and will schedule me for my glucose testing after next appointment. But the best part is....I only gained 4 lbs! I swear I gained more but maybe I am leveling out this trimester.

Waves to all the other preggos!

Hi everyone
I have been MIA. I just came back from the Dr and I got blood work done (Quad Test). I have to wait few days for the results. Baby's HR is 155 and I get an ultrasound on the 22nd to find out baby's gender (if seen). I couldn't believe it, I put on 6 pounds in 4 weeks ;(. Boy, that's too much for 4 weeks I think, so far the total weight gain is 13 pounds at 18 weeks.

Today, I woke up with terrible lower back pain, I forget sometimes and sleep on my back.. bad, bad. I have been feeling some flutters lately and I'm pretty sure is my baby. It makes me smile every single time!

Allison, 24 people! wow and I thought 18 was a lot when we gathered at my sister's pad

Jen, I'm glad everything went great for you. Are U in your 3rd trimester already?

Dawn, how exciting! My dr doesn't do the 3D sonograms, if I want one I have to go to another location, for now, I just want to know the baby's gender

Hi Susan, Wendy, Cee, Christine and everyone else I haven't mentioned

Melanie, I'm also counting down for my sonogram. My parents will be home by then. I'm excited

Hi Susan, Wendy, Cee, Christine and everyone else I haven't mentioned

Precilla~ you're weight gain is really good, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Are you feeling better? Still taking Zofran? I'm excited to hear about your baby gender. I'm really okay without knowing,.....it's everyone else who is anxious (the parents, grandparents, co-workers, even DH).

My back is killing me. I don't know what in the world I was thinking,.... shampooing the carpet. Somebody needs to hit me upside the head sometimes!!!:eek:

Facebook hasn't worked for me past couple days. Anyone else have problems with it?

I"m back to work tomorrow. Every other day this week: Tue, Thur, Sat. That's nice for this prego body,...a day in between. Saturday will be tough though with Friday dr's appt 2 hrs away,.....bound to be a bit worn out. Well,...I might have to reward myself with a nice steak dinner again. :D :D

Wendy? Christine? Krillie? Where are all the mommies?

Everyone sounds so great!
Precilla- That is just right for weight gain. I am gaining a lot more in the second trimester already. You are doing wonderufl. It is always hard in pregnancy to let go of it and let the body take over. I am certainly no master of that! I am hoping that you are feelign better!
Jen- Great pictures, you seem so happy and it is great to see!
Mel- I do not know how you do it. You must be so exhausted!
Things are really tough here. The job promotion that my husband got, that caused us to need to see the house, just got pulled out from under us, and we have no idea what is going to happen. I guess all the stress of this has caught up with us, and our house is now battleing a summer cold.
My pregnancy is fine, feeling large and in charge. Hungry so much. Tired too. I have not found my energy, but am certain it will come soon. I find out the sex in a week and a half and am excited. I have been havign vivid dreams about it being a boy. Who knows? I had vivid dreams when I had my son too, around the same time. I guess it is the one thing that I am looking forward to right now, that will make me happy no matter what the outcome, as long as healthy!!!
I forgot to ask, but wanted to remind everyone, are you getting yoru dental check ups and flossing? I was not as good as I shoudl have been on my first pregnancy, and ended up with a fortune of dental work in my mouth, so take good care!
I am off to bath my sweet boy. My husband works from 3:45 in the morning till after bed most nights, so we are turning in early and I am excited.
Lots of happiness to everyone, I will get better at posting and being more personal. I guess I have been in a fog.:(

Nope, no dental work for me this year. *YIKES* Don't throw me out of your group, please!!!!!!!!!

We decided NOT to purchase the dental plan this year in an effort to curb costs. DH hasnt been to dentist in years, Myself & eldest son have never had a cavity or filling,....so we're gambling. The only thing we are doing is bringing 2 littlest ones to pediatric dentist. DS2 has awful teeth, and DS3 has a couple areas of concern (wee ones must have taken after DHs) teeth. Anywhos, we'll save lots unless there's a catastrophy!!!

Ack! I'm behind in dental work too. I never missed my 6 month appt, until I quit working full time. My awesome dentist doesn't take DH's crappy dental insurance. I just found a dentist who does, so plan to schedule my appt. But I do floss and use my Sonicare toothbrush twice a day. Hope that counts for something!

Priscilla, 13 pounds is great for almost 20 weeks! At my 16 week appt, I had only gained 6 pounds. But at my 20 week, I was faced with an 8 or 9 pound gain in 4 weeks! Your body does what your body does. As long as a woman doesn't use pregnancy as an excuse to stuff your face with bad stuff the whole 40 weeks, I think the body gains what it needs to.

Christine, I'm so sorry to hear about the uncertainty with DH's job and the relocation. I know you were so stressed about trying to relocate and sell the house; and now to not know if you are moving or not -- I can't imagine the impact that's having on you both. :(

Sorry for all suffering from back pain. My pain is my left side, I think from trying to sleep exclusively on that side. Bah! I can't wait to sleep on my back and stomach again!

I was in Kohl's today, looking at layette stuff. A little girl, looked to be maybe 8, asked me how far along I am. I said 29 weeks, so 7 months. Her reply? "Wow! You're HUGE!" Um, thanks for that boost to my confidence, kid. LOL

Fat Cheeks??

Hi everyone,

Christine, sorry to hear about your husband's job. My husband's job too has been shaky in this economy; he's in commercial construction and they forced everyone at the company to take a 10% pay cut. I'm always thankful that I love my job and I have so much flexibility. In fact, I'm planning on starting a new schedule in August that will hopefully give me more time with baby and let me keep up the same work projects. With day care costs, etc., I just hope his job can outlast the bad economy.

Also, thanks for the reminder regarding dental checkups. I'm pretty good about keeping up appointments and brushing and flossing. When I floss, my gums bleed though, which I read was normal in pregnancy. However, it looks terrible, like I was just in a fight after I floss!

Last night, I did the upper body workout of Body Max 2 (about 20 minutes). It was fun and I didn't have to modify much, with the exception of lighter weights. I was even able to do very modified push ups (completely on my knees); I can't believe I was once able to do full, plank pushups and all of them in the Gym Styles!

Woke up last night with a very tight calf cramp, so ate a banana this morning. Perhaps additional potassium will help.

I'm here at work now. One of my coworkers just told me that she now can see my face filling out with pregnancy; she said my cheeks are looking so cute. %$#^&* Why did I want to deck her? ;-) Oh well. I swear it must be water gain because while I was bad diet-wise the first half of this pregnancy, I've been pretty proud of myself lately. Oh well.

Have a great day, everyone!
Dawn

Oh--I forgot to comment on cramping. I get cramps on my side, too, if I walk too fast or exercise too hard. Last weekend, I was doing a very low-impact step workout (just the platform) and got such a bad cramp even when doing very low kicks (I really didn't think I was working that hard). I stopped the workout and went to drink water. Oh and let's just say that marital relations are now side-lined until after the birth due to a few cramps. ;-0

My DR said cramping was normal in these situations due to the uterus stretching and some uterine irritation. Of course, sometimes I read about pregnancy and it seems hard to tell the difference between normal cramping and cramping to be concerned about. And for that matter signs of early labor and false labor. I guess I'll figure it out when the time comes.

Have a great day,
Dawn

Hi Ladies,
Seems like I have been gone forever. Glad everyone had a nice 4th. We had a great time with dh's family. I ate way too much though!

I am a stickler for going to the dentist. I went in March and go back in Sept. I floss and brush daily! I get an "A" :D

I go the the dr on the 20th and do the glucose test..yuck!

Jen-You have really stocked up on the baby gear!! I hear ya on the aches. Yesterday I was on my feet too long and by 4 or so I just can't take it anymore. Dh has been massaging my feet nightly which helps! The sciatica pain is still giving me fits at night.

Melanie-pooey you can't get that u/s! At least you'll hear the h/bs..that will be cool. Have a good day at work!

Allison-I lol'd at your dd's "dere's alot of ducks" comment. How cute!!

Pricilla-I agree with Allison. Youre weight gain for 16 weeks is great. As long as you don't go hog wild..you'll be just fine. I put on 2 just from this weekend!

Christine-hugsss...so sorry the stress you are under! When do you find out what is going on??

Dawn-please post your 3-d for us to see. How exciting. ^5's on the your workout!!

Off to eat breakfast and get the day started. bbl

Wow! You guys have been chatty overnight!

Christine- I am so sorry to hear about the uncertainty right now for you and your family. Sending BIG BIG HUGS your way! Thanks for the reminder on the dentist! I just went last month for a check up but I am not as good about flossing as I should be.

Susan- Glad you had a good holiday! You are supposed to eat way too much on the holidays! :)

Priscilla- Your weight gain sounds perfect! Don't stress too much over it! I gained 7lbs at the last visit so I think my body is just leveling out and gaining what it is supposed to gain. I am only surprised at my weight gain this time around because I have eaten out WAYY too much, much more than I ever do. Everyone seems to want to take the pregnant chick out to eat! Can't wait to hear about your u/s! I am still in the second trimester (22 weeks).

Dawn- Sorry about the face comment your co worker made. I am actually surprised I haven't gained in my face yet because that it usually one of the first places for me to gain weight. People make the dumbest comments to pregnant women.

Allison- Your comment about the little girl at Kohl's made me laugh out loud! Kids, ya gotta love em!

Hey to everyone else!

I managed to do LIC cardio premix. By the end of it my back was killing me. How do I know if Im getting round ligament pain? Don't think I had many aches with dd....but Im starting to make up for it this time.

Errands to run and housework to do. bbl
