Good morning,

No workout yesterday. I had to be at the trial by 7:45...and stayed until afternoon. Kylee did not qualify, but I was really happy with how she completed each exercise. The one that she failed on included her staying while I walked across the ring to do a recall with her. She has been so clingy lately, and when I started to walk away, she followed me. She probably thought I was leaving the ring and she wasn't going to let me do that! Just something we need to work on.

Diane Sue, that was certainly a long ride! I hope your allergies calm down today. The Medicare stuff is definitely confusing. I am not looking forward to all the mail solicitations that you get. I didn't even know there was plans G & F etc. I only thought there was A & B that comes with Medicare and you had to get C & D through one of the providers like an insurance company or Independent Health.

Valerie, I understand completely how you are feeling. It is so hard.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend,

Take care,

Deb, i was so confused by what i was reading on Medicare at first. Mutual of Omaha had the plans each laid out well and a lotbof good information that helped me understand. Aftervresearching i went back and read all i could find on the medicare site. Reading just the medicare info they gave me was confusing at first. I am still gettingbstuff in the mail. Also, you get people wanting to "help you choose" that you can pay for. I did notbwantbto do yhat. I took notes on everything i read and found out myself. There are penelties if you dont get a part D plan. Also you have to have your choices set by 30 days ahead. I was a couple of months ahead. I i dod all of it online and printed everything for documentation.
It sounds like Kyleestill did well except for wanting to follow. I guess i confused Gertie the other day because i went out the front door with my daughter and she was so persistant on trying to go out with us when i told her to stay. When i go out the front she normally goes with me as that is how she gets outside . I usually go through the garage and we have no problem. I gueess i need to go back to waiting for the okay to go out the door.

I wish i would have slept more last night. I am going to do my workout in a bit then chuurch and family brunch.

Valerie,
I know what you are going through. I was a total wreck when we lost our senior kitties in 2013. I had no idea how hard it would be. It is a devastating loss and it has a huge impact on your life. I do know what you mean about cats that are just there, and the ones you connect with. Chris and I were connected to and bonded with our kitties and they were a very significant part of our lives. They leave a huge void in your life when they pass, and when it's sudden it's such a shock to your system. When we went through it, it really did help to adopt another one soon. I didn't think it would and I was actually resistant to the idea, but it did help. It also helped me to spend some time on Rainbowbridge.com.

My workout is finished RWH Plyo Hiit 2, 28 minutes, 248 calories, heart rate average 137, max 166, 1,869 steps. I need to work on what workouts I plan for next week. I think a similar pattern to what I just did this last month b, but different workouts.

I think that it helped the grieving for my dog Mudd that I had Gertie and she was also grieving so my concern was diverted to her and moping and not eating, watching for Mudd to come out the door when she was let out. My neice went out and bought my Dad a new kitten right after he lost one of his cats. It really does help the void. Not necessarily missing the pet. I think about Mudd often and pictures make sad.

We had a first cat who was mostly just 'there'. she was a nice cat. we found her as an adult hiding in our yard after the 4th of july. never found where she came from but might have been our irresponsible next door neighbors. we kept her and she was nice, but never really bonded with us to she was an adult and moved with us to a new house and always stayed with us but there just was not a connection. then our next two cats, we called them both Puss, both were real buddies and companions to us in different ways. Puss #1 we adopted at 11 yo. he was fantastic. he passed suddenly at about 17. I was working out of our house at the time and now DH understands how hard it was for me when he died. the house was deadly quiet and I missed all his habits and antics. he was extremely smart cat. he was a hunter killer too! one day he walked down the driveway carrying an gray squirrel by the neck. we separated them before much damage but wow, it was half as big as the cat! after he passed I tried to wait a while, maybe 2 weeks before I found our second kitty who just passed, who we just called Puss to keep the tradition. he was not as aggressive or as smart but we really bonded with him. he was small and cuddly and didn't hunt/kill, but was much friendlier with people we never had to worry about him biting and he followed us around like a little dog , and came when called many times running up to us like he was obedience trained. instead of killing things, he used to play with them. he had places he liked to snuggle and he was very talkative. We had a wonderful dog at one time too, but he was the only dog. just was inconvenient for the things we liked to do so we loved him but didn't replace him with another dog. anyway, this was an awful week and again, thank you all for your kind words. It will get better and in a little while we will look for another kitty. we will wait until after we get a longer vacation trip finished so we don't have to leave a new pet alone for too long.

no ride this morning, it finally rained a bit and this morning it is wet, cold and foggy.

No workout today, this is my rest day. I went to the grocery store this morning to get a few item and it was already wild there. People were stocking up before the storm and also many evacuees shopping for prepared foods.

Take care everyone and have a good day.

Good morning,

No workout yesterday. Hope to get one in today before the morning puppy class I assist in.

Diane Sue, thanks for the tips etc. I am going to probably go with the same one John has. Less confusion when changes happen etc. I just want to look further into what they do with specialists. It seems I have seen many of those this past year. I also feel that if you have another pet in the house, it does help ease it.

Judy, I remember when you lost your kitties....that was so sad. It is amazing how another one can get into your heart so quickly and it does seem to east the pain. Although it will always be there, the good memories eventually seem to be more in the forefront.

Valerie, probably a good idea to wait until you are not travelling to get a new kitty. You would not want to leave it at that early stage of bonding etc.

Carolyn, I hope things are better today...I see the storm was downgraded again. That is good news.

A workout, and puppy class this morning...

Take care,

Deb, i can understand worrying about the specialists. It is mybunderstanding thet most supplements are good forvanybdoctor as long as they will take medicare. I called and checked with the office i go to before i made my decision. I would think any you have been seeing would still keep seeing you. You can change plans once a year if something doesnt work. What I chose gives a discount if my husband chooses to use it too in the future. It looked to me like advantage plans were more costly. I remember you saying your husband searched it out and i believe gotva supplement so i would think that would be whatI would do.

Today's workout was Ice Boot Camp Circuit no abs mix, 35 minutes, heart rate average 120, max 147, 220 calories, 2,0048 steps. I then did Fit Tower Boot Camp skipping the warm up, 48 minutes, heart rate 108 average, 142 max, 218 calories, This was 83 minutes and 438 calories. I am going to try doing a similar workout plan to what this last month was so today would have started with a boot camp workout. Tomorrow will be a Total Body workout.

Today I did STS D13-Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps. My workout time was 1 hour 21 minutes and 237 calories. Average heart rate was 98 and maximum heart rate was 145. I also did the Extended Stretch for 15 minutes.

The wind gusts are starting to pick up as it gets closer to mid-day. The next 24 hours will be the time period where we need to be very weather aware.

Diane Sue, I sometimes do that with following the structure of a rotation but not the same workouts. I'm sure that you will like using your selection of workouts.

The power went out while I was writing this and I lost the last paragraph! I will end by wishing you all a good day and post before it happens again.

we did a road ride this morning, just under 25 miles. harder than expected because of a heck of a headwind but clear and dry out.

neither one of us adjusting to this big change very well. bad nights sleep. I knew he was getting up there in years but I did not realize how important he was to both of us. I feel miserable and am crying every time I get a reminder of him. the ride was good to get me outside doing something. we are going to try and hike tomorrow but it will have to be a quiet one I don't want to thread my way thru dozens of other hikers.

Carolyn hope you get thru with no more than minor power outs.

Good evening ladies,

Yesterday was a BBS Dance, BBS Tramp, then a BBS upper body workout. Today was a BBS Dance a SB Barre workout that concentrated on thighs and glutes. Really feeling my glutes tonight!

Valerie...I feel for you. When we lost Chester there was such a void. We loved that dog and it hurt so much. I am so sorry for you and your husband.

Carolyn...do you still have no power? We have friends in Atlanta that have no power. My cousin in Florida is without power. Thinking of you!!!!!

Deb...puppy class is probably a great workout!

Diane Sue...nice workouts. I was just looking at the Ice series and want to fit them in somewhere. Been ages since I have done one.

Judy...I remember your 2 kitties. :(u

Today is my birthday. We will celebrate after my conference. Too much going on right now!

Good morning,

Yesterday I did S&S PHA Training. I had to break away from the "one-body part per day" format for a bit. It gets pretty tedious....and I didn;t feel like it was enough. I really like the metabolic workouts or PHA...so will do a couple of those this week, then maybe go back to the MM's next week.

Diane Sue, good idea to make sure all my DR's take Medicare etc. I agree, that most probably do. What was your workout plan last month?

Carolyn, I hope things have calmed down for you and that your power came back quickly and you did not get any, or little storm damage.

Valerie, things will get better....it will take a while.

Lori, Happy Birthday!! :)

A workout, then class this morning with Kylee. I took Keegan to his class last night...he had not been to a class since he was sick. He was exhausted when we got home...

Take care,

Hi Everyone,

I did Spinervals both Sunday and Monday. I'm going to continue with STS Upper Body this week.

Deb-I really like the metabolic workouts too. It's a good idea to alternate with weeks of one body part per day.
You are right, it's hard to believe it will be 4 years since we lost Misty & Tiger. I still think about them everyday,
but now the good memories are stronger than the sad ones.

Valerie-It's so hard, but it will get easier over time. They leave such a huge void :(

Lori-Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great day!
I remember how much you loved Chester and how sad it was when you lost him :(

Carolyn-I hope you get your power back soon and that you don't get any storm damage.

Diane Sue-Great workouts!

We finally have power again after 28 hours without. We have a lot of debris from the hurricane winds, but no major damage. Our backyard neighbor lost a very large pine tree but it fell away from her house and ours. We have so many trees that I always worry about that during bad storms.

I did not work out today but I am up to 11,600 steps now. That helps a bit since I didn't get a cardio workout.

Take care all and have a good evening.

Good evening ladies,

This morning was SB Arms and Abs from her bounce dvd followed up with a Bellicon workout that concentrated on arms and shoulders. 42 mins / 277 cal. This was my only workout today. Been going 100 miles an hour at work and I am tired.

Carolyn...so glad you have power! That was a long time without it. As of this afternoon my cousin in Florida still had no power. Universal is up and running so hoping no issues with my conference this weekend. Thank goodness!

Deb...funny because I am enjoying splits concentrating on cardio then one body part. I love metabolic and usually do them on the weekend.

Judy...great spinning over the weekend! Wow 4 years? Does not seem like it.

Valerie...thinking of you.

Hi to Diane Sue!

Today I did Cathe's Ice Metabolic Total Body + Blizzard Blast, 62 minutes, 353 calories. I also did X Train Abs #1, 11 minutes, 33 calories. Total time 73 minutes, 386 calories. I went to my daughter's and I made Dog treats with the grandchildren for their dog Muffin. It was a pleasant afternoon. I went a bit heavier than Cathe on most of the moves today , but didn't want to go to heavy as I plan on doing X Train all out low impact Hiit tomorrow, Pyramid Upper Thursday, Hard Strikes Friday, and X Train Cardio Legs Saturday.

Carolyn, I sometimes like to take a book workout I see and use portions of DVD's to make up similar workouts to what the book calls for. I prefer using a dvd to actually doing a paper workout. I am not that motivated with a paper workout. I am glad that you have power again. You are very lucky the tree fell away from both houses. I have had that worry with a couple of our homes that had so many trees. One was a corner lot and we had a huge storm and there were so many branches and so much trimming that we had piles of limbs completely wrapped around out house. It was a lot of work and took the city some time to come and pick up since it happened all over the city. Fortunately no damage to the house though.
Valerie, I know it hurts. I am sure it is good to get out and away from home for a bit. ((hugs))

Lori, Happy Birthday!! I seem to lean toward the Ice workouts. I don't know why I waited to purchase them :)

Deb, I did the Strong and Ripped rotation in the Strong and Sweaty user guide. It had each body work one twice a week and seemed to concentrate a bit more on cardiovascular weight work one week and more heavier weight work the second. It will probably take Keegan a bit to get back into things after being sick. I hope he's okay.

Judy, nice work getting in the STS upper body workouts.

we did a hike today, 4 1/2 hours. started out badly, a yellowjacket nest on the trail, underground. DH walked by and being the second person, they ailed me in the left calf. it is hot swollen and itchy now after about 11 hours. I have been stung more in the last 2 years than my entire life before. it is worse now than at first but should be better tomorrow.

I made notes to look at rainbow bridge and spark people but have been gone a lot the last few days. being distracted helps. Judy, I remember when you lost your older kitties. so sad that they have such brief lives compared to ours.

Lori Happy birthday!. Hope your meeting can go without further glitches.

Carolyn, 28 hours is not too bad especially if you got missed by a tree besides. sounds like some people in the southeast will be out of power for a long time. such an eye opener to be without something we take for granted. usually happens here when cold and wet outside, but I think hot and humid would be worse. we can put on a sweater or build a fire in the woodstove, but not much to do with hot.
