Judy, I tried aero bars on my road bike but I need the "cheater" brake levers and there isn't room for them. I have a short upper torso and it's a bit of a stretch to reach the reg brake levers. I never thought about adding them to the spin bike .I get posture fatigue and that gives you more possible positions.
ETA our mt bikes have hydraulic brakes. you would not believe how much that helps on downhills. it's like power brakes on your car compared to non power. I used to get cramping and general aches from pumping the brakes going downhill. with the power assist ones, it's a 100x better. plus the brakes work so much better. more sensitive and also more effective. I would never skip these if you are buying a new bike.
not sure what we'll do with the bat. he's in a sealed box in the freezer. will probably go in the trash pick up tomorrow.
