Happy Mother's Day!

No workout yesterday, but I did an agility class with Kylee. We saw a play last night called The Father...it was very depressing...about Alzheimer's....makes you think a lot.

Lori, sometimes it is good to take a couple of days off. (not weeks like me though!). Yes, rock chewing has all kinds of problems. What makes dogs want to chew rocks? Thankfully, we have never had one that did that....but we have Keegan, who eats mulch.

Here is some interesting info on alternatives ways to beat fleas/ticks. Not saying I agree with all, but some may be helpful. http://healthypets.mercola.com/site...=20170514Z1&et_cid=DM143737&et_rid=2005349116

Diane Sue, I hope your allergies are better soon. Do they get better after spring? What is going on with the dogs this spring? First Kylee, then Keegan, now Gertie? Hope she is better soon, and its only a 24 hour bug.

Hope to do a workout today, and get back into the swing of it....easy to get out of the habit. If the weather is nice, maybe some yard cleanup...

Take care,

Hello and happy Mother's Day. Today I did Strong and Sweaty PHA Training. It was a great workout and I like that it keeps the heart rate up. I took Friday and Saturday as rest day so I felt like a good workout today.

We don't have special plans for today. We will grill some chicken and have a simple dinner. I hope all of you have a wonderful afternoon.

Good evening ladies!

No workout today. By the time we packed up and left I was just too tired to workout. I ate horribly yesterday and really wanted to get a workout in today. 3 days without a workout... Oh well!

I was so proud of Nicholas that I cried like a baby. He was graduating Cum Laude which he never told us. Wanted it to be a surprise. If you knew what his grades were in highschool you would never have expected him to graduate with honors. Was a nice surprise. The rain held out which was great. Rained a little for the party afterwards and we made the best of it. All and all the party was a huge success. GiGi was amazing and everyone loved her. A relative has a chocolate lab a month older than GiGi. GiGi is huge compared to her! Nicholas' girlfriend and I made a collage of Nicholas from birth to collage grad. The pictures we chose were adorable and hilarious. It came out awesome and he loved it. :)

My exhusband has been using Bug Be Gone for ticks in his yard with great success. Going to read up about it. He says it is safe for the dogs so if all is good going to buy some this weekend. Thanks for the link Deb...will check it out after I finish posting. That play does sound depressing. Will look that one up too.

Diane Sue...been ages since I have done that workout! Nice job. I do the same with her bounce workouts. I always jump a little harder and faster and always have my ankle weights and now I use 2# hand weights. I pick up 3's for the strength postion. Agree the arm portion catch up with you.

Hi to all and have great night!

No workout. The family all came over and we had so much food. They brought barbecue and I put the smoked turkey breast on my salad. But then I ate a huge piece of Italian cream cake. I got Bed Bath Beyond gift cards and ordered curtains form all my downstairs dining and living room windows. I am getting rid of these copper vertical blinds finally. They give the house such a dated look. That will probably mean painting touch ups after we take out the blinds.

Deb, I think I am calling the vet tomorrow. Gertie is eating and plays but I can tell something is not right. I think she may have a urinary tract infection. Twice she has left puddles now and it smells bad. This morning it was in front of the door. I am worried about her. I will have to check out that link you posted. Most of the time the allergies only let up for a brief time during the winter and somewhere around the end of August. This winter after I had started the bee pollen and keeping up with the Aller Max capsules I have had a longer than usual reprieve. I was hoping that I had found what I need. I am trying increasing the Aller Max to 3 capsules a day instead of 2. It seems a bit better today. I have pretty much stayed inside though. Gertie has wanted to take more trips outside lately, but I think it is because the neighbor man's daughter has been coming and staying and she has a little black and white puppy. It sticks it's nose under the fence and comes around to the gate and Gertie thinks it is fun.

Carolyn, good for you for getting the workout in today. I was slow at getting things done this morning in preparation for family and stuff.

Lori, it sounds like you had a lot of fun. I know whenever we get together with family like that, it seems like there is a lot of late nights and early mornings. Also, I never sleep well at someone else house. I never get as much exercise as I had planned on when away from home. It never causes a lot of change though. I come home hit the workouts, eat well and in a week I would never know I had laid off of my exercise and nutrition goals. I will have to look at bug b gone. The collage sounds like a great idea and I am sure will be cherished. I add extra jumping and bouncing when SB is standing there talking and explaining an exercise. No wasted time for me!

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Cathe Live Total Body Giant Sets Light Weights. 42 minutes, 243 calories

Carolyn, great workout...my favorite S&S workout!

Lori, that is great about your son and his graduating Cum Laude. That collage you and his GF did was such a good idea.

Diane Sue, that was a nice gift for you since you are doing all the make over's for your rooms. It does sound like Gertie may have a UTI. I hope increasing your allergy med helps you. We give Keegan 1 Zirtec each day.

I am assisting in a new puppy class we are starting on Monday mornings, and then later going to the university with Kylee for a "stress relief" session with the students, and of course, our class tonight...whew! A dog day for sure.

Take care,

Good Morning,
Today I did Cardio Slam. Workout was 364 calories, 135 average heart rate, and 158 maximum heart rate.

Diane Sue, great family day and gifts. I'm sure that you will love having the new curtains. It really makes me happy to update even small items in the house.

I have my annual gyn appointment this afternoon. Between the two of us we have so many doctors in our lives!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Today I got up and showered just in case I could get Gertie in early. No such luck. We have an appointment for 3:30. She won't eat this morning and keeps moving from her doggie bed to the crate. She did come upstairs later when I decided to workout and rolled around on her back and acted a bit more normal. She seems uncomfortable.
I didn't want to get too sweaty after showering so I did STS disc 1, I have no idea when I last did that one, 53 minutes, 210 calories, 101 average heart rate/ 160 max. I don't know where that 160 came from. I have been wanting to check out the Fit Tower Slim and Trim beginner workout so added that at the end, 36 minutes, 98 avg. / 129 max heart rate, 90 calories. Calories burned gave me 130 with that heart rate average but I didn't use it when I logged. I used 3# ankle weights and a heavier band for this workout and also changed up some things like the easy way Cathe did the push ups, I did them on my toes in normal fashion. I really did not need more push ups after that STS workout though. Also I did not take the rest breaks during the ab work and altered the moves to increase the intensity a bit. I think that it is an excellent workout for someone who is just starting to build up some strength. Total time was 89 minutes, 300 calories total,
I will have to leave in plenty of time for the vet. I usually go for 25 minutes before to get there on time.

Deb, it looks like you will have an interesting and enjoyable puppy day :) My dog Mudd used to have to get an injection and special ear drops every allergy season. She had problems with grass pollen and her ears would get all red inside and she would run both front paws over her head in misery. I used to feel sorry for her. I am looking forward to the new curtains arriving. I have some of the rods, I need to see if I can find the brackets. I will have to go see if I can find a couple more rods to hit the 3 large windows and the one smaller one on the entry side. I had to order 11 52 inch wide curtain panels. I am hoping it is enough.

Carolyn, nice work on Cardio Slam today. One of the things about all of this work we have done, I am getting things cleaned out , getting rid of some stuff, and organizing some things for convenience. Now if it will just stay that way. It is nice looking around at the house and seeing how nice it is looking.

Good evening ladies!

This morning I started back with SB's rotation which was Lower Body BC Barre, 27m and tonight I did most of BBS Dance Cardio Full Body workout. I did 38 mins of the 55 minute workout. She fried my legs! The dance portions that I did were fun and high impact. Arm section was good but will go heavier next time. The 3#'s they used seemed really light for me. Will try 5#'s next time. I did the legs with ankle weights and wow! I will be feeling it tomorrow. It was really hard for me today. Not sure if it was because I was tired from the weekend or if it was just plain hard! Looking back at SB and BBS rotations I have 2 workouts I missed over the weekend and going to try and sneak them in at some point this week. BBS rotation is only 30 days and it will be over really quickly.

Diane Sue...hope Gertie is feeling better soon. Breaks my heart when one of our animals are feeling sick. That was great making the Fit Tower workout more challenging. I am really looking forward to her new workouts and using the Fit Tower to its full potential. Curtains can really add so much to a room. I am trying to be really good for a few days and get my workouts in. My son is taking me to our favorite local restaurant on wednesday for Mothers' Day which means those darn pecan rolls and corn fritters!!! No way I can resist so I am preparing myself. My husband is out of town for a couple of days and we plan to go while he is out. He has been doing so well with his diet and exercising. He has lost 45 lbs and wants to lose 20 more. He would rather us go when he is a way so he is not tempted.

Deb...that is one of my favorite Live workouts. I wanted to try the most recent kickboxing one soon but will need to make up my workouts first. I know that one does not interest you! You have a busy day today...but awww a puppy class!!!! How adorable. I would want to take them all home with me.

Carolyn...good luck with the doctors!

Hi to Judy and Caitlyn!

Good morning,

Yesterday I did a Cardio Coach on the treadmill...not a huge calorie burn but it was short and sweet.

The college kids were good, they are all looking forward to going home. I spoke with some from India, and one from Egypt! Talk about a long trip home.

Carolyn, nice workout! :). Hope all went well at the Dr's.

Diane Sue, I hope you found out what is going on with Gertie. You will need to post some pics of the new window panels.

Lori, good that you can get that restaurant in while your husband is out of town. I bet he appreciates that. He is doing so well with the weight loss. The puppy class was fun...you forget how fun they are when they are that little....and how much work! LOL,,,

Obedience class with Kylee this morning. Maybe one of those Raw KCM's...

Take care,

Hi Everyone,

Sunday I did S&S Total Body Giant Sets and yesterday I did a spinerval. I'm planning on taking an active rest week next week and after that I will start another strength rotation.

Deb-I've previewed the Raw KCM's but haven't tried them. They looked like good workouts.

Diane Sue-I hope the vet visit went well and that Gertie feels better soon. I like the workouts that came with the Fit Tower. I agree, they are perfect for someone just starting out with Cathe and strength training.

Lori-Your husband is doing great with his weight loss! I am looking forward to the new Fit Tower workouts too. It will be nice to have some new, more challenging workouts to use with it.

Carolyn-I hope your doctor visit went well. Great job with Cardio Slam!

Hi to Valerie & Caitlin!

Judy

Today I did ICE Metabolic Total Body. I didn't realize that it's been 3 months since I last did that one.

My doctor's appointment was fine, just a routine check up. I really like my doctor because she takes time to review and discuss information with me. She even noticed my weight difference from a year ago and wanted to know what I have been doing. I have to go back for a bone density test in a couple of weeks.

Lori, I'm sure that your husband appreciates you planning the restaurant outing for a time that he is away. Family support is very important.

Judy, I like your active recovery week idea. I keep thinking that I will do something similar.

Hello to Diane Sue, Deb, Valerie, and Caitlin.

Today I did Cardio Core Circuit, 51 minutes, 386 calories. I then did Ab Circuits Med ball abs no partner and weights and plates no plates, 22 minutes, 83 calories. I had to run a urine sample to the vet and they called with my new reading glasses so I stopped on the way home to pick them up. My granddaughter has her graduation from the vo tech today. She has her high school graduation on Saturday and a celebration at the Masonic lodge. Sunday is a double birthday party for the two that will be 17. It is a busy week we have planned.
The vet called after I got home and said there was nothing that really stood out and to keep Gertie on the antibiotic for the week. He wanted to check to see if there was a ph problem or something like that, She ate last night with some urging and this morning I think she was hungry because I had no problem.

Lori, good idea to help your husband be able to keep on track. That is a great weight loss. I wouldn't worry too much about a few cheat foods. The corn fritters reminded me that I missed putting the fried okra in MFP on mother's day. I guess it doesn't make much difference now. I usually try to burn a good amount of calories before I have one of those cheat days. I am going to have to get through the pizza birthday party and graduation goodies. Enjoy your treats:)

Deb, Egypt and India are a long ways from home and such different cultures. I am sure they would be missing there homes. Good luck with obedience class. I will be interested in hearing which KCM you choose if you do one.

Judy, you have put in some tough workouts. It sounds like an active rest week would be a good idea.

Carolyn, sometimes I will feel like I had just did a workout and when I look at my logs realize it has been a month or so since I did them. I am glad that your doctors appointment went well.

Good evening ladies...

This morning I did SB's Feel Good Cardio and Arms. I have always liked this workout. I then did BBS Upper 05. Wanted to incorporate my jumpsport this morning so I did a BBS Jump Rope on the JS. It was only 11 minutes and was great on the rebounder. Tonight I subbed in a BBS Advanced Tramp workout in place of the Dance one scheduled. Then it was on to BBS Upper 02. This one was tough. Very straight forward weights and I went heavier...she used 5# so I upped to 10# and this was a good weight for this hi rep workout. I am pleased with myself getting all these workouts in for the day! It sounds like a really long workout day but total time was only 85 mins and 490 cal./ and right now I am at 11,300 steps.

Deb...I am not that focused on calorie burns. I like posting them and knowing what I burn but realize some workouts just do not burn as many. But that does not mean it wasn't a great workout! Bob has done really well getting back into shape. I am very happy for him.

Judy...an active rest week sounds great. What are you planning for workouts? I have not done a Raw workout yet either. I want to but not sure when I can fit them in.

Carolyn...it really has been a long time now since I have done a Cathe DVD. I do miss them and know I will get back to them some day. My doctor is the same and I love her for it. She makes me feel like I am her only patient of the day.

Diane Sue...Cardio Core Circuit is one tough workout! I think it is one of her hardest. I did it once or twice and hated it both times. Should have know with the Core in the title. Good for you!! Funny the fritters reminded you! Glad Gertie's tests came out good.

Hi to Valerie and Caitlyn!

Lori-I'm planning on doing all Jessica Smith workouts. Each one is about 30-40 minutes or so, I think. I wanted to have every day planned so that I don't end up doing something harder. This is what I have so far:

Monday - Walk Strong-Prehab & Dynamic Stretch
Tuesday - Walk Strong-Burn Fat & Have Fun- Have a Ball
Wednesday - Gentle Yoga
Thursday - Walk Strong-Build Balance and Inner Strength-Core Control
Friday - Walk Strong-Build Balance and Inner Strength-Balance & Agility
Saturday - Walk Strong-Prehab & Dynamic Stretch
Sunday - Rest

Good morning,

Yesterday I did the KCM Raw Upper body YouTube workout. This was pretty tough. I liked it a lot. Will do the lower one this week as well.

Judy, are you done with the STS workouts? Those are great workouts for an "active rest week".

Carolyn, glad the appointment went well. She sounds like a really good doctor. I like the ones that actually talk to you, not just go through the motions.

Diane Sue, I hope that Gertie responds to the meds and is feeling better soon. Wow, you have a busy weekend with celebrations coming up! :) I don't remember Cardio Core Circuit...which DVD is that from?

Lori, great workouts and 85 minutes is a long time!

A long day today, ending with a dog club meeting tonight. Not sure if I will get a workout in, or take this as a rest day,

Take care,

Deb-I did 2 weeks of meso 2, then I got side tracked by other workouts :) After my rest week I'm planning to do another strength rotation, either STS Meso 2 & 3 or a combination of STS and another series. I might alternate weeks of STS with other workouts just to keep from getting bored.

Lori, that does sound like it would be a long workout. The time wasn't too bad though. I used to do Cardio Core Circuit quite a bit, but would use the premix where you do each combo of moves once instead of repeating. The move with the burped push ups was very hard since I was so sore from all of the push ups from the day before. Sometimes this workout is easier than others. I guess depending on how tired I am or how sore I am from something else.

Judy, it looks like you have a good plan set for the active rest week. I am doing a week of STS Muscle Endurance . I have done those a lot less than me so 2 and 3. 2 has always been my favorite though.

Deb, Gertie seems like she is much better. She wanted to play last night and this morning she was more than willing to eat. I am going to do that Kelly workout soon. This week I am working through a week of STS endurance workouts.

Hi all... I'm back. I did total body metabolic last Friday. our guests arrived mid day, and we took them to rent mt bikes. Saturday and sunday we rode, and we rode a lot. our two favorite places and somewhere around 5 hours one day and 4 the next. they are both good riders and a little faster than I am or will ever be, but then I am 30 years older! so I bring up the rear, lagging behind by a small distance. but I get there, maybe 30 seconds behind. they just go a little faster than I can go, especially downhill. It was very muddy and "horsey" so I had to squeeze in a big laundry event too. we were filthy! Monday we went snowshoeing, lots of up and downhill, for about 4 hours again. yesterday was the easy day about 2 hours walking, hiking at a close by state park. so today is most likely a rest day, as they left at 4 am and we got up with them and then went back to sleep for a while.
Lori congrats to your son and his graduation honors and also to DH for his weight loss.
I need to read all the posts but hope all the various doggie problems have smoothed out.

I did almost all the cooking and food planning in addition to the workouts. I am pooped!. will take today off. I'm not sore or anything but by the time I get thru the clean up that will be it for today.

Today I did Party Rocking Step 2 timesaver premix. I wanted to do something but didn't have much energy today. I am sometimes amazed that I was able to work out before work for so many years. I do so much better after I have eaten breakfast.

Diane Sue, I have been avoiding Cardio Core Circuit and you did it with an add-on. I am impressed!! It was on my schedule for last week and I think it was in the April rotation also. I have skipped it or substituted something else. I actually enjoy the workout, so maybe I'll do a timesaver premix soon. I looked at the video clip again last week to remind myself of what was included.

Judy, the JS workouts that you have planned looks like what I would do. I have the same dvds.

Lori, as you can see I do mostly Cathe workouts. I occasionally do others, but I get bored with them quickly. They don't have that fun factor that I look for.

Deb, the KCM Raw YouTube video sounds challenging. I looked at a short bit of it but not the entire workout.
