Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 4/12

Back from Costco buying an epic amount of groceries. it was well regulated, no crowds, minor lines. no sanitizer but had TP. Im so thrilled....

yes, mine is a Brother too. threading it and loading the bobbin require a check every time I do it. it works well but you need to have it set right, not halfway. it has all kinds of fancy stitches. I have simple needs and if Id seen a more basic one I would have bought it. this is what they had, I didn't feel like shopping around. I got used to it.

Cooking Light used to be great, and then they underwent a change in approach and dumbed it down, and started veering away from "light'. got repetitious with recipes spread out. I dropped my subscription. it folded a few years later. now it might be making a comeback but I am still subscribing to Eating Well, the only magazine I still get. not going to sign up for another. so much online now, I don't need a magazine.

no workout today. will road bike tomorrow.

Got dinner put together for both of them. :) I called in my hydroxychloroquine today and I am not surprised that they limited it to one month and not the 90 days. They said it was on backorder so they are trying to be sure they have enough. Also they have had so many people want them to mail their prescription that they are charging shipping. Also surprised that it cost me way less and I am not sure why unless it changed from a tier 3 drug or something. They didn't even put the deductible on it that I was expecting to pay because it was tier 3.

Judy, I keep seeing women doing STS lately. I get my hair color from Amazon or Sprouts. Amazon was going to take awhile so I ordered and ended up buying some in Sprouts for a higher price. Amazon got it to me fast to my surprise so I now have two boxes. A lot of the time I order through Amazon buy a case of 6 which comes direct from the manufacturer. It costs way less that way. Actually Amazon has been pretty quick on things that had much later deliver dates listed on them. I ordered ink cartridges that said the 30th, but got an update saying they will be shipped the 20th.

Deb, I think Kelly just added the box and tone to her YouTube channel for free so maybe it would encourage more to use her streaming channel. Not sure though. She has popped in with some short workouts and encouragement stuff like a lot of instructors through facebook. The box and tone was a really fun low impact workout. Her filming has improved so much from how it was at the start. Felt sorry for her on the Intervals 5 raw because she was sweaty when she started and said she thought she had filmed it and forgot to turn the camera on so was starting over filming. I love her workouts. I the reason I ended up with the two doctors was because the heart doctor sent me to a pulmonologist after I had the heart CT and it is more than likely nothing, but I go back to check periodically to make sure the spot doesn't change. Both of my daughters and all of their families have iphones and apple watches. My son and his family all have androids and us. We had Iphones for years and once we switched to android we never wanted to go back to the iPhone. I can't believe toilet paper is still in short supply. I got mine from Amazon which was 6 small rolls and husband brought home a mega pack. Then last time we went to the store he grabbed another. I think we have plenty for awhile. I also got 3 packs of flushable wipes just in case. Wish they were antibacterial because I would have them in my car.

Carolyn, my mask stays in place. It has two elastic straps one at the top and one lower and a boned nose piece that forms down to the nose. It has an extra layer of fabric inside that reminds me of flannel. It was supposed to be anti microbial, but I am sure as many times as I have washed it that it is no longer so anti microbial. Maybe spraying it with an antibacterial spray might help. I have not had much of a problem shopping after the first initial couple of weeks. I started sewing on a sewing machine when I was around 12 also. I made a lot of my own clothes and sewed for my mother. When I was young my mother sewed for me. It is much more rewarding to create something that you can enjoy. I had a Singer touch and sew sewing machine for years. I loved the bobbin filling ability so I did not have to unthread the machine to fill the bobbin in the middle of a project. Wish I still had one that did that.

Valerie, my Brother has the self threader on it, but I have only had it work once and I spend so much time trying to figure out how to get the self threader to work, I might as well just do it myself. I have a hard time seeing the eye in the needle so I do find threading and rethreading annoying. I watched a video on youtube of how to thread a brother (my model) sewing machine and this lady smiles at the camera and threads the needle with her hands, not the self threader. Duh!! I wish that feature really worked. I think mine was priced around 299, but when I got to the register it rang up at 199.00. I picked up the best one Walmart had. I was fighting with the one my Dad gave me that was the singer and my husband told me to just go buy a sewing machine. Yes, a Viking would be hard to get repaired. Maybe a machine repair shop could do it if you could find one. We got my touch n sew that I had for years at a sewing machine shop and it had been used for schools home ec classes. I always wanted a Bernina. There is a Bernina store not far from us. There was a new one in my high school advanced clothing class and the teacher let me use it. It did so many cool things. I did smocking on the waist of a dress that was so easy.

Valerie, I didn't know Cooking light had changed. My cookbook is really old. I just find recipes online here and there from cooking light. Too bad that they changed. I think as far as cookbooks and magazines for cooking my biggest collection was from Oxygen Magazine and Clean Eating. I still use recipes out of them.

Cooking Light stopped publishing probably 5 years ago now. maybe more? I stopped using it several years before that when they reformatted the magazine. then somehow they merged with Eating Well, but Eating well looks the same, doesn't look like CL. I heard some rumblings that maybe they were going to re launch, but I don't think paper magazines have much of a chance of succeeding anymore.

I liked my Viking machine, and I could see what broke, but I looked all over and no body would work on it. I ended up throwing it away. this machine has a needle threader too, and I got it to work once. easier to thread it manually. I need to undo ther threading to do the bobbin. not happy with that, but Ive never had it any other way.

Good morning,

Today I did Live Quick Fix Cardio, 34 minutes, 233 calories. Lots of modifications needed for this one, but they were pretty easy to figure out. When in doubt, I just do those side to side "ice skater" moves.

Carolyn, nice to hear that Costco and Kroger are having good distancing happening in those stores. B.J.'s not so much. I was surprised at the number of shoppers that had masks on, but had them dropped down around their neck.......huh??? Agree....maybe these are people that have sewn for years, but have not had the time to do a project they really have wanted to do...now that they have the time, they find out that their old machine doesn't work any longer...LOL

Valerie, yes, people that use gyms regularly would now want to have some home equipment, makes sense. I saw a really good FB video on how to make a homemade mask, no sewing needed. Keep forgetting about Eating Well magazine. Do they publish their recipes on line or do you have to have a subscription to even see them?

Diane Sue, great workouts yesterday! LOL....you mentioned using the book for your sewing machine....I cannot use mine without the book always there to look up stuff. There was a time when I was quilting regularly that I could use it without the book....not any more. Same here on the threading of the machine, I have gotten worse and worse in being able to thread it, even with my reading glasses on....I use one of these big head set magnifiers that John uses for fly tying, Mine also had an "easy threader" function which I have never been able to conquer. I had a Bernina, but gave it away when I got my Pfaff. I think the Bernina was the lowest model they made, and it just never worked right. I am able to thread the bobbin without unthreading the other parts, which is nice.

Hi to Judy & Lori,

Stay safe.

My machine came with a big fold out picture, one side for threading, the other for refilling the bobbin. it's very helpful although at first it was hard to match the parts of the picture to the machine itself. I'm better with it now but I still pull it out every time I need to rethread. I have some neutral grayish thread that I use for everything so I don't need to redo too often. not sure if that's lazy or smart. most of what I sew is fix/ patch projects so DH's jeans it doesn't matter if the thread matches. I'm maybe lucky, my close vision is good, my distance vision needs correction but it helps with threading. I cant do it with contact lenses in but I'm fine if I take them out.

stores that sold sewing machines quietly disappeared. used to be one in every mall. when my Viking broke, I looked all over and no one would even look at it for less than75$ and a long drive. at that point a new machine for $200 didn't sound so ridiculous. I don't let DH use the new one. he wasn't supposed to use the old one either. there is a lot of wrestling to sew a patch on the knees of jeans because you cant get the leg far enough onto the free arm easily, and he must have used more muscle than the machine could handle.

Eating Well still publishes a print magazine. its the last magazine I subscribe to. I get emails from them every day. use them more than the magazine. they "re run" old and current recipes. I like that a lot. sometimes I flip thru the magazine and its the wrong season for something, but if I'm reminded in a few months or even years later, I get inspired. lots of times they run a group of recipes focused on one vegetable, like cauliflower, and I can use their web site to bring up old recipes to print. I don't cook from electronics. disaster in my kitchen! it needs to be on plastic sleeved paper. my complaint is they changed their recipe format to include a bunch of extraneous crap. recipes that should print in one page now take 4 or 5. waste of paper, ink and space. so I copy it to Wordpad and take out the garbage, and get it to print in at most 2 pages.
IMO CL did well with sweet breads, muffins, desserts. most of what I use in those groups is from CL. EW things are not sweet enough. DH calls their desserts milk bones. whole wheat and not enough sweetener. I don't have dessert very often and if I do, I want it good and no mistaking that it's dessert. thi is a link to an EW daily email. If you can access it you probably don't need to be a subscriber.

This morning I did ICE Bootcamp Circuit for 49 minutes and 293 calories burned. My average heart rate was 127 and maximum heart rate was 163.

I had a subscription for Cooking Light. They were purchased by the company that publishes Eating Well and they decided to combine the two magazines. The last Cooking Light issue was December 2018. I received two issues of Eating Well before my subscription ended, but didn’t renew last April. I do get their email newsletter with links to articles and recipes.

I don’t plan to do enough sewing to justify a Pfaff, Bernina, or any of the very expensive brands. If I buy a new one it will be a Singer or Brother. Costco online has a Janome for $1600! That’s much more than I want to spend for occasional use.

Hello to Everyone and have a wonderful day.

Today I did Raw Heavy Bag 2 which was 40 minutes, and 3 yoga workouts strung together from Fitbit app , Barre 3 undo+flow 11 minutes, downdog yoga for stress 15 minutes, and downdog ease upper body tension 16 minutes. Total time spent today 82 minutes calories burned 259 calories. This worked for me today as my right knee hurts and is swollen. I am guessing it is arthritis, because things have went from one joint to another lately. The heavy bag workout was all heavy bag up to 28 minutes, then some abs and stretching.

Valerie, my Brother sewing machine is an SQ9185 model. It works well, but I have had better. Then again that last singer was awful. I tried changing multiple needles, threads etc.. Adjusted tensions and it just always was jamming and breaking needles. More frustrating than anything else. I would end up putting holes in clothes trying to dig out the jammed up thread stuck in the fabric if I was not carful. I have had to change bobbins and thread quite a lot. The patches on my husbands police shirts always required yellow gold thread and then I always needed navy for the pants. He seems to always buy pants that are unhemmed. That includes all of his cargo pants. I just keep the bobbins filled in the usual colors to help a bit. I put plenty of thread on them when I have to refill. That is funny about the dessert and milk bones. I have purchased some healthy cookies and snack foods that reminded me of the taste of something I would give my dog. I rarely like packaged dessert items. I can pretty much look at a recipe's ingredients and tell whether it is going to go over well or not. Thanks for the link. I bookmarked it so I can go back to it. I use a lot of recipes that I save on Pinterest. If I try one and dislike it I delete it so I don't make it again. I just pull out my tablet and sit it up when I am making the recipe. Most of my latest cookbooks are on the tablet as well, but I find I am more apt to go look up a recipe online and use it than go through the cookbooks. I do hate when I print up a recipe and I get all kinds of other items and waste ink. I try to count how many pages of it I want before I save and fix it or print. They tend to slip ads into the recipes.

Deb, before I had my laser eye surgery it took me forever to get a needle threaded. I would wear my glasses and use a magnifying glass which was awkward. I always have dreaded the needle threading. I can see way better than that , but over the years I have went to wearing reading glasses and sometimes have issues with things like tiny print and needle threading. The eye doctor mentioned getting me some bifocals when I was in, and I told him I would wait awhile. I hate relying on devices because I feel it will train my eyes to need them more, if that makes sense. I use those skater moves a lot when I am between moves or don't want to do the jumping.

Carolyn, I don't think I would want to spend that much money for a sewing machine unless I was sewing all the time. My husband had mentioned me getting one of those fancy one that you use computer and do embroidery and stuff so I could maybe make things and do the work for some of the small police departments. I declined. Those look complicated to me. I knew someone from Wyoming that did that and her husband that was a police lieutenant would actually design some of their stuff with the computer. It just was something I did not want to have to practice and learn.

I had taken a couple days off, but last night I did stacked upper and the ab workout. this morning we are doing a bike ride. we are having lovely weather but the pollen is blowing around in clouds. grass and trees. it might be rough for a few days. rain settles it down but nothing forecast so I will be sneezing a bit.
I use contact lenses with some readers when I need them. if its all close work I take the lenses out. Im not so nearsighted that I cant function without them but need them for driving and sports, TV unless I move closer. I was expecting to have cataracts by this age but so far I don't and that was going to influence what I would do. my sister had surgery years ago but her outcome was only so so.

I am adamant about no electronics in the cooking zone. I print and put in page protectors. there are a few areas I don't want electronic. I want to be able to take notes on the recipe and not worry about spills and splatter. I know I'm by pretty much by myself on this. I want paper in plastic sleeves that I file by category in a bankers box. works for me!

Hi Everyone,

Tuesday I did STS Meso 3 Plyo Legs and Medicine Ball Abs from Ab Circuits. I had to modify the Plyo Leg workout a bit. That one is tough! Yesterday I did a 45 minute Peloton ride and STS Meso 3 Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps. We had snow off and on yesterday but no accumulation. It's snowing again now and the forecast says up to 2 inches tomorrow.

Deb-Nice job Quick Fix Cardio! That one is on my to do list. Yes, I'm planning on doing STS for the next few weeks. I was going to just do Meso 3 but I think I will add in a few Meso 2 workouts.
I've also been seeing photos of people out wearing masks but they have them dropped around their neck or on their chin. Some people just aren't understanding the severity of this. I did notice that the Amazon driver that delivered a package yesterday was wearing a mask and gloves. That was the first delivery driver I've seen with that.

Diane Sue-I'm sorry about your knee. I hope it feels better today. How were the Fitbit Yoga workouts? I've been looking at the new Fitbit Charge 4. I love the Apple watch but it's not a good step counter and I do miss that.

Valerie-I used to subscribe to Vegetarian Times and I have one of their cookbooks. Cooking Light was another one I remember. I just checked and Vegetarian Times is online only now. Nice job with Stacked Upper Body!

Carolyn-Nice job with ICE Bootcamp Circuit! That's great that you found hand sanitizer. I don't think there is any around here yet. We found a new container of disinfectant wipes we had in the garage and I ordered soap and hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works a couple of weeks ago so have enough for now.

Hi to Lori!

Take care,

Judy

This morning I did X Train All Out Low Impact HiiT which was 39 minutes and 271 calories burned. My average heart rate was 131 and maximum heart rate was 161.

Diane Sue, I hope that your knee is better today. I would feel the same about learning that type embroidery unless it was something I really wanted to do. At this point in my life I want activities that are meaningful and enjoyable.

Valerie, nice job with Stacked Sets Upper Body plus Abs. I have most of my recipes in binders, but I also have many on my iPad. I use an app called Paprika to store and organize the recipes.

Judy, great job with the STS workouts and medicine ball abs this week. Costco was limiting the hand sanitizer to one pack per membership. That was smart to order from Bath and Body works.

Hello to Deb and Lori.

Our Costco didn't have any sanitizer but to be sure I didn't miss it, I asked. Nope.
diane sue you keep such good track of your workouts, you might be able to figure what move is causing the knee problems so you can avoid it.

we did a road ride this morning. 2 hours about 22 miles. Lovely out.... almost 70 degrees by time we were done. the traffic is so dramatically much less it makes road biking pleasant again. like how it was 40+ years ago when I first moved here. some other cyclists out but nothing troublesome. a load of pollen so I took a Zyrtec before we left to try to head off the sneeze and itch. some years are gradual onset, this is a full bore assault.

Carolyn I used to do binders but I decided since I always took the recipes out of the binder to cook, it would be easier to store them by categories in a bankers box sorted with pendaflex hangers. my biggest problem is sticking them back in the wrong folder.

I went kind hard on the Stacked sets last night and got myself a little sore.

Today I did Jessica Smith Walk Strong 4 mile power walk, stopping after 3 miles, 54 minutes, 301 calories, 5,709 steps, heart rate 128/155 heart rate. We went grocery shopping at 1 am and were the only people in the store other that employees. I decided to make it a light workout. I got in over 13,000 steps today. I guess because after the workout I went outside and mowed and I have been cleaning house today.

Judy, we keep having warm weather and then cold. My daughter said something about the step count not seeming right on the Apple watch. I liked some of the yoga workouts and some have just been routine workouts. I liked the foam roller and stretch workout a lot. A few different moves in the rolling for me and ending with the stretching. I liked the Ease Upper Body Tensions a lot. I have done it twice. I don't mind so much doing the yoga workouts from my tablet, but cardio is a bit difficult to me using a tablet. I like watching on television. The only way to view that way from what I read is screen mirroring or chromcast. For some reason I thought Bath and Body Works went out of business.

Carolyn, nice work today. Yes I prefer things be easy and simple at this point.

Valerie, I was thinking when I was doing some of those yoga stretches that it could be one of those stretches. I felt better yesterday and it hit me when I was doing a stretch that I have done that several times lately and it was uncomfortable. I should look at the moves I did on the two workouts Monday. Although Raw Box and Tone is just non weighted stuff. Boxing and rests being lower body strengthening moves. Doubtful it was that one so maybe the total body strength? Not sure.
No hand sanitizer here that I know of. In fact the grocery store did not have toilet paper again. Glad we got some last time.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Ripped W/HIIT: Back, Biceps & Shoulders, premix without the "finishers", 39 minutes, 160 calories, and today I did LIVE "Move It", 37 minutes, 262 calories. For those that have the Cathe Live streaming, this is one of my favorite Live cardio workouts. 30 cardio exercises, all done one time, no repeats. The time flies by, and any that are high impact, are easily modified. Cathe actually shows some modifications for some of the exercises.

Valerie, I was sad to see the store where I bought my machine close down. The women in there were such great resources for any issue, whether it was with how the machine worked, or even with a project that you may have been having an issue with. They were really good with quilting, they even helped me select fabric sometimes, and I was always happy with the finished product. Thanks for the link! I started checking out the Eating Well site. It looks like you can join for free, and there is a lot of info there. I need to adopt your idea on keeping the recipes. I don't like working from an electronic device either. I have mine in one of those expandable brown folders, but no organization, and it takes me a while to find anything.

Carolyn, great job on ICE Bootcamp Circuit and XTrain All Out Low Impact! We had a subscription to Cooking Light as well. I found that I was piling up the magazines, and infrequently actually cooked anything from them, so decided to toss at one time. I bought the Pfaff for the quilting I was into at the time. I think I got a lower model, as I did not want any computer stuff, for fancy embroidery etc. Not anything I was going to do. As mentioned above, the ladies there were great resources, and actually of their husbands did maintenance and you could give him your machine for a "tune up" every year or two. Very reasonably priced.

Judy, great job on STS Plyo Legs. Anything with "Plyo" in the title is tough! :).

Diane Sue, nice step count! sorry to hear about your knee. I do the same thing with receipes from All Recipes....I try to print them but don't want all the "junk" that comes with it. I copy and paste what I want in Word, then I can also make the font larger etc. Yes, all of the delivery people I have been able to see have been at least wearing gloves. Of course, that really protects them, not us. Who knows what they have been touching all day.

Hi to Lori,

Stay Safe!

This morning I did Ramped Up Upper Body, chest and back only. That was 34 minutes and 187 calories burned. My average heart rate was 121 and maximum heart rate was 146.

Deb, good job with RWH Back, Biceps, and Shoulders. That’s a nice workout. It’s very sad that the sewing and fabric stores are mostly closed. I would spend a long time browsing and choosing fabrics. In fact, I have a bin filled with fabric, patterns, and notions. That’s one reason I’ve been thinking about getting back to sewing.

Valerie, that’s great that you had a nice ride yesterday. Our weather here has been beautiful the last few days.

Diane Sue, getting 13,000 steps for the day is quite an accomplishment. I’m sure that mowing the grass played a big part in that. Shopping for food in the middle of the night is definitely a way to avoid other people!

Judy, the Charge 4 looks good.

Waves to Lori. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Most of our stores that used to be open 24 hrs trimmed back hours. more like 6 am to 9 pm. shelf stocking mostly at night.
I didn't realize sewing machines were less available until DH broke my machine. I looked up the old store. Gone. found some machines at vacuum cleaner stores. I bought a Miele vacuum there but hated it. suction not good, cord way too short, even looked there for a sewing machine. I'm sure Bernina, Pfaff, way too fancy for my needs and expensive. after I realized I was not going to find anyone to fix my old one, I took the first opportunity and bought the Brother at Costco.

xc skied this morning. warm and sunny. snow was OK, but a lot of gaps where we had to take skis off and walk, then put them back on. skis don' work on gravel! still 3 hours of reasonable exercise. this is a place ople know about and we aren't talking. old road that's fairly clear of blowdowns.

Did my hair 2 days ago. could not stand the gray line another day. its mostly front and top of my head. back sides are not that gray yet. so I separate it into clumps, paint on the color, and have DH do the spots I cant reach. helped my bad attitude!

If anyone sees a fitness tracker that works with cycling, please mention it. I look from time to time but its not turned up anything so far.

Deb its just one more step to sort those recipes. I separate my recipes into general categories so I don't have to look thru 100 pages. like "vegetarian" with a sub group of "pasta". "chicken" with ""southwest" and "Asian" subgroups.... "desserts" "salads" "Bread/muffin" and so on, whatever makes sense to you. much faster if you dont have to flip thru what you don't need at the moment. you can use file folders in different colors if that helps. I use the vertical "window tabs" on the pendaflex folders so I can get the right category at a glance. this is not sophisticated at all. I can toss a lid on the box and stow it when we have dinner guests. seems like a long time ago!

Yesterday I did STS Meso 2 Legs and today I did Live #140 Low Impact Cardio Hiit.

Deb- Great workouts! I will try the Live Move It workout next week. It sounds like a good one.

Valerie-The Fitbit Charge and Garmin Vivoactive have cycling as a selection for workouts but I haven't tried them so I don't know how well they work and if they give an accurate pace/mileage.

Carolyn-Great job with Ramped Up Upper Body! That's another favorite of mine.

Diane Sue-Nice job getting 13,000 steps! I do think I will get the Charge 4 and go back to Fitbit.

Hi to Lori!

Judy

I did Coffey Fit Raw Intervals # 5, 25 minutes, heart rate 117/163, 113 calories, 1,813 steps. I used a 20# kettlebell this time for swings and stuck with 15 for the others and a 10 for the halos which make my neck crackle and pop in not a good way. I used 10's for the upper moves and 1# for the boxing. This was better than the first time since I only got 87 calories, and 935 steps the first time. I knew I worked harder than that, but did spend time writing things down the first time. I also did the last mile on yesterday's Walk Strong 4 mile power walk and the stretch, 21 minutes, heart rate 129/166,112 calories, 2026 steps. I finished with Jane Adams yoga morning energy, 18 minutes, 23 calories, 54 steps, heart rate 86/101. Total time was 64 minutes, 245 calories, 3,893 steps.
Funny I looked at all of the posts and saw yesterday and was thinking wow, no one posted today. I forgot it is another day as I am up late again. I need to go to bed.

Deb, I liked that live workout a lot when I did used CL workouts. Amazon has some picture on their website where it looks like the guy is wiping his door handles on the delivery vehicle down. The problem with gloves is you end up touching everything with them, then if you take them off in the car whatever they lay on is contaminated. I just think they are kind of useless. I have seen people covered up from head to toe, but it seems about 2/3 of the people around here do not wear masks or anything. I don't see many purses going out to the store. Although there were reports on our Nextdoor neighbor site of 3 young men looking like maybe in their teens taking women's purses and jumping in a getaway car that someone else was in. Why do women not know better than to throw their purse in their car while they are putting groceries in the car? It happened at Walmart market by me and at the big Walmart store. I lock my car door to put gas in my car and if I am putting groceries in the back if I put a purse in the car. The other thing is masks make it easy to have a disguise when doing something like that. Anyway, that thought hit me when the big guy in Walmart was wearing the mask and a motorcycle helmet.

Carolyn, nice work today. I have tubs of yarn and craft supplies, scrapbooking that is not finished, and sewing stuff. I need to make something out of all of it just to get some of it out of the house. I have a bolt of fabric that my daughter in law left here several years ago for me to help my granddaughter sew with and it never happened and she doesn't want the fabric. My next project will be painting some big wagon wheel things with OU sooner stuff on them and detailing the Sooner wagon. My husband brought home 3 wanting them for gifts for our soon to be graduating OU family members. I have left them sitting here for several months now. I finally ordered some crimson acrylic paint , but will have to go out to get the cream color. I would rather be doing oil paintings.

Valerie, I think Crest is the only store that is staying open. Walmart no longer is doing the 24 hours. I do my color myself all of the time, no help. It was really needing it and I have kept putting it off because the mail carrier was supposed to redeliver a piece of mail. After near a week, we went to the post office and picked it up. Why they give those things to fill out or do online to have redelivered is beyond me because they never show up. I didn't want to answer the door with that on my head. It always makes my morale better when it is done and I don't feel shabby.

Judy, I noticed with my Fitbit Versa 2 that there is bike and a spinning setting. Also a swim setting on exercises. I would worry wearing it in a pool though. I have heard others mention the Charge 4 and keep having ads pop up for it.

I miss Amy my hair person more than anyone!! I need a cut badly. I can do my bangs myself but dont want to hack at the rest. It’s mid length, below my chin. The top and front are grayish but most of it is still brown so only do roots at both the salon and at home or Color gets too dark. When they reopen it will be a while to get in so I might be doing my own more than once. If it were really gray I’d go with that but it’s just mousy looking. Not going to get that gorgeous gray so many people get.
I’ll take a look at the trackers and see if there are reviews of how well they work. Road riding does not get my heart rate high but it’s usually for several hours at a time so I record time only. Mountain biking has been harder since it’s mostly on DNR land that’s closed.

I agree on the gloves issue. they make sense for someone who is working in public although the main thing is to remember not to touch your face and the gloves might be a reminder. I wore them several times but if I have to peel out of them to use my cc etc, then I'm better off going gloveless and washing or sanitizing as needed. my poor cuticles are starting to bleed they are so dry from all the washing and sanitizer.
