Happy Easter!

Lori, I hope that cold leaves soon, and you are not one of the "100 Day Cold" victims. What does Bob do when you are doing SB? Is that Tony Horton series all 22 minute workouts? I think you would want at least the 20 pound body bar.

Valerie, great hike! 6 hours on snowshoes....amazing. Thanks for the lime tip, I may try that this time. I don't know what the stuff was they had me drink, I think it's starts with an "F"? Anyway, I had to mix it with ginger ale or Gatorade, and I cannot drink either any more because of that. It actually makes me gag. I have to pace and think of other things while drinking it so I don't puke....(sorry TMI). Enough of that..LOL. I hope the Miralax is easier, but does the job.

Judy, we had a sunny day yesterday too, and I mentioned to John that it would be great to get the bikes out but way too cold! I can't imagine riding in under 50 degrees. It was around 43 here. Good to listen to your body, if you feel like a break, you probably need it.

Diane Sue, That broccoli recipe sounds great, would like your dressing recipes. I use Lori's printout of the Live workouts for notes, I add the date I did it, and also my 1-5 rating on how I liked the workout.

Hi to Lynda, & Josie,

Have a great weekend!

Happy Easter all!

Never got to my second workout yesterday. Busy prepping for my brother who arrived yesterday and staying most of the day today. Going to try and get some SB in this morning.

Deb...that brand of Body Barre goes from 18 to 24 lbs. I may go with the 24 and be daring. The price is the same which is great. Yes the workouts are supposed to be 22 minutes. Looks like there are a couple of core workouts that are about 12 minutes.

Judy...Bob is talking about getting a bike. Would love to go out and do some riding with him. He would be more of a round the neighborhood ride all the time which I would really like. I always thought all States had the emissions testing. Very surprised to hear this. Looked at several of the 22 mins. and thought they were pretty good but I would need more than 22 minutes to feel worked and would use them as a nice little add on or when I was really short on time and wanted a quick workout. They made me want to start doing the Ruthless workouts again. Those are great add ons.

Valerie...6 hour snowshoe! Awesome. How has your knee been? Is this all behind you now?

Diane Sue...I completely understand getting dinner as easy as possible to make. Hate when I am stuck in kitchen and not visiting with my guests/family. I try and buy nitrate free whenever I can. Both your salads sounds delicious!

Hi to Josie and Lynda!

Let me amend the time on our walk.. it was 6 hours total but half of it was normal walking. we started in hiking boots and went half way before putting on 'shoes. there was patchy snow. when it got to "solid" we put them on. We used to xc ski this road was much more efficient but the FS closed it and all the huge dips for water flow make skiing or biking impossible. I actually got kind of sore from the short but steep ups and downs. much harder to walk on snowshoes! I've seen people even run in them but I'm too clumsy. No way. I'm not sure my knee is completely perfect but I am doing way better than last year and I think will continue to improve as I hike more.

I can't remember emission testing here. I've been here since the mid 70's. I remember in WI there were some.

We are happy we got both bikes...we live in bike friendly country. loads of trails and some rural areas to ride. I'm not a fan of riding in city traffic or highways with narrow shoulders. too many distracted drivers who don't pay much attention. We ride often at <50 degrees. less than 40 gets challenging, because of possible ice. 50 is pretty easy. I don't have any exotic gear.... wind block tights, helmet cover. windblock gloves. most nylon jackets are a good wind block. 2 layers of shirts under so you can peel off one when you get warm. I have a thin hoodie to cover my ears. works better than a headband. road riding is faster, more wind chill issues. mt biking less so. we rode 2 days ago, about 48 degrees, and DH wore shorts, I wore capris. might feel cold for 5 minutes but then we start unzipping etc. once you have bikes you find more and more places to ride them, part of it awareness.

Deb, the lime helped me a lot. there's a funny smell and the sheer volume was overwhelming. It's referred to as "golytely" but maybe has other names? I know I'd get stuck with it again. the Miralax with Gatorade (lemon or lemon lime) is pretty easy to get down. I don't love Gatorade but it's drinkable. when is your procedure?

Hi everyone and Easter greetings--

This morning I did Hard Strikes Low Impact Boxing Live (58 min.). No jumping jacks or any impact other than boxer's shuffle on this. It's all boxing with some low impact hiit blasts and tabatas and it ends with some weight work, planks, and something she calls the inchworm into pushups, then inch back into the much-hated-by-me bear crawls. Excellent workout for cardio, core, and upper body.

Deb, I think Valerie explained the Golytly jug thing. DH mixed it with Gatorade. I cannot do this prep because it makes me throw up. Found that out the first time and had to call the doctor for a quick alternative. It is the cheapest prep. I do something that tastes like cough syrup and follow it with a lot of water. I did the pills once too, but apparently there is some danger of kidney failure, so it's not a great idea. I thought that was the easiest one to do though.

Valerie, that is an incredible workout with the snowshoes. I haven't been even once this year because we just did not get any significant snowfall. Recommendation for you on Netflix streaming: Happy Valley and you will definitely need cc. I was curious about this one because it's Ted Hughes/ Sylvia Plath country, the Calder Valley in West Yorkshire, and the major character Catherine even goes to Heptonstall cemetery where Plath is buried. I was hooked almost immediately and can't wait to watch what happens--a kidnapping.

Judy, it was beautiful here yesterday too, and I did a lot of garden cleanup because my lilies are already sprouting and tulips are coming up fast. Even some peony sprouts. I'm sure you are enjoying the long weekend with your DH.

Lori, I thought emissions testing was pretty standard too. DH has some old trucks that don't have catalytic converters, so he doesn't have to pass emissions tests on them--just brakes, lights, rust, etc. I'm sure you will be enjoying your family today and it's gorgeous weather here, so I'm assuming you are sharing it.

Diane Sue, I can't imagine how busy you must be with a wonderful big family gathering. I wish I had some grandchildren, but alas! neither one of my sons is married, although they are both in what look like serious relationships. We'll see.

Going out to dinner tonight at Mezze's, which has a comfort meal based on DH's pork.

Good morning,

A nice day yesterday, fun having the family all here. It got into the 60's here, John was weeding the garden in the afternoon. Thunder and lightening right now.

Lori, that is so nice that you got to have your brother here for Easter. Where does he live again? 22 minutes would be even a little short for a workout, even for me...:). John and I mentioned getting the bikes out soon.

Valerie, so you carry the snow shoes etc while you walked the first half? do you use a back pack or something? That is some walk!

Lynda, I bet dinner was amazing last night with Kim's pork on the menu! I am not sure why all of a sudden they are giving me some pills, and the Miralax mix with 68 ounces of water.......kidney failure? Yikes, I think I am going to call them today and ask why. I know a long time ago, there was the option of taking abou 40 pills with water, was that the one you are referring to? It looks like that show you recommended ( Happy Valley), may be free on Prime....I need to check on the iPad....

Hi to Josie, Judy and Diane Sue, hope you had a nice Easter,

A workout, ( cardio of some sort), no class tonight...yippie!

Take care,

I didn't explain the colonoscopy prep very well.

There are different approaches. the same prep is not used for every person. the gastroenterologist uses ones he's familiar with, and that have been successful for patients. Not everyone gets the same prep.
The Miralax prep is pretty common around here but it doesn't work for everyone. ( like me) the prep is supposed to completely clean out your colon and cause the least amount of discomfort and problems for the patient. That way the doctor gets a clean colon to look for anything abnormal, and the patient isn't too unhappy. Colonoscopies are not things anyone looks forward to, so they try to make it as pleasant as possible.
I was one of those people for whom Miralax didn't work very well. so my second colonoscopy they gave me Golytely. Golytely is a more "aggressive", icky smell, and a larger volume. It worked better for me. Deb, the clinic will try to pick something they think will work best for you, and make you most comfortable.
clinics use a range of diets they recommend for the days before the procedure too. This is a time when "one size does not fit all".

Deb, yes we always carry packs and strap the snowshoes on to them. probably weighs about 25 lbs. It's easier to walk on snowshoes than it is to carry them. If we go a couple of miles into a relatively remote area we're prepared with rain gear, warm layers, first aid stuff. things can go wrong, weather changes, someone could get hurt. we're prepared to take care of ourseklves if there are problems. So many people go into the mountains with nothing but a granola bar and a cell phone and think they are 'covered". they're not. if anything goes wrong, they could be in trouble quickly.

Happy Valley sounds familiar to me. I'll take a look. we're watching a police drama right now called Southland. We saw it before but mistakenly thought there was a season we hadn't seen. it came on a Netflix disk so we are watching it anyway.
ETA we've saw Happy Valley..... A British one with Sarah Lancashire. she's also in the series Last Tango in Halifax. we liked both of them. I used subtitles though I didn't have problems with the dialogue most of the time. We automatically turn them on for anything British. She plays completely different characters in the two series. we saw it on Netflix streaming. I didn't know about the Plath connection.

I will do a check in now before I forget and come back later for personals and a recipe ) Thankfully the internet is working better today. Last night I just got fed up. Probably saved everyone from the long detailed posts I had originally typed. I am going to get my wrought iron gate painted today while we have some warmer evenings. The people that lived here before had painted it an ugly green shade and it is all peeling. I am going back to black.
Today I wanted low impact. Still being careful of the neck area. Workout was live Hard Strikes low impact boxing, 59 minutes, 341 calories. I didn't get the HR up that much with this since it was mainly boxing. I was surprised at the weight work at the end. I expected it to all be abs for some reason. I did some modifications on it. I then did the stability ball abs form live Cardio Boxing with stability ball starting at 33 minutes into the workout and also did the stretch, 14 minutes, 55 calories. Total time 73 minutes, 396 calories. Edited to say I do make notes on those sheets from Lorie but sometimes I think I have left the sheet downstairs when doing some previewing and so wrote details in my notebook and forgot to transfer the information.

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Compound Giant Sets--Light Weights Live (42 min.). This is 4 sets of 7 compound moves with 8 lb. dumbbells throughout. I thought this would be a breeze, but by the time you get to the 4th set, it's tough. The seventh exercise is a burpee into two pushups--8 times. She ends with standing abs and planks. I am just so pleased with these Live workouts. I feel like I am in Cathe's gym and I know the other ladies.

Deb, on the preps for colonoscopy, some insurance won't cover certain preps, and some are a lot more expensive than others. Our GE gave us a range of options and prices and warnings. Our meal last night was fantastic. Pork loin roast with a nice crusty rub and not cooked within an inch of its life. Grits, a spicy kale dish, biscuits with bits of bacon in it. Kim ate all of his, but I brought home half of mine because it was a lot of food.

Valerie, I will have to check Last Tango in Halifax if it has the same actress. She is very appealing. I think the title Happy Valley is really ironic--not only because of all the issues with drugs she confronts, but this is Bronte country too--moors and Calvinists and defunct textile factories. Never a happy place. I really enjoyed the series and hope there is another season.

Lori, the final book in the Passage trilogy is coming out in May. Cronin is a lot better than George R.R. Martin, who can't even supply enough material for his hit TV series. GOT is about to begin again.

Gloomy and rainy here today. Max is not happy when he can't sit outside surveying his farm.

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter Sunday!

Deb, here is the recipe for the Cucumber avocado dressing
Makes 8 servings about 2 TBS each
1/4 cucumber cut in to chunks
1/2 medium avocado cut into chunks
3 TBS lemon juice
1/4 cup 1% low fat Greek yogurt
1 tsp raw honey or pure maple syrup
2 garlic cloves chopped
1/4 tsp sea salt or Himalayan salt
1 Tbs fresh dill ( I used dried at 1 tsp)
1.4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1. Place cucumber, avocado, lemon juice, yogurt, honey, garlic, salt, and dill into blender, cover. Blend until smooth.
2. Slowly add oil and blend till smooth.
3. Store in refrigerator, tightly covered, until ready to use.
If dressing thickens when cold let sit at room temperature 30 minutes, stir and serve.
Edited to add that my garlic cloves were huge so I cut it to one. Also the book says the dressings are good for salad and also sauteed vegetables, and fish, chicken and beef

Yesterday I woke up with pain up the whole left side of me for some reason. I did P90X2 Recovery and Mobility. This was always good for getting foam rolling, yoga, stretching and loosening up good. I also did a Yoga for neck and shoulder pain that is really just seated stretches and self massage, from you tube. So I spent about 75 minutes on this and it made a world of difference the rest of the day. We had a great Easter and played some card games :)

Deb, we had beautiful weather here yesterday. It rained the night before so I was relieved when the rain stopped and the sun came out.

Lori, sometimes all of the older grandchildren will do the clean up. The only thing that took me away for a bit was t he grilling. I thought the wo minute Hard Core were supposed to be really intense or something. They must not have much of a warm up or cool down to get a workout in in that short of a time span.

Valerie, thanks for explaining the time and the Snow Shoes walking. I am such a wimp when it comes to being chilled anymore. When we had our Harley I would wear a jacket when it was 70 degrees outside. The breeze while riding made me cold. When I was a youth in Colorado I would shovel snow and get sweaty and lose the coat.

Lynda, it looks like we both did the same workout this morning :) I like inchworms and bear crawls. I used to do inchworms a lot for a warm up with a Rachel Cosgrove rotation I used to do. I couldn't do much with the push ups though. I went to my knees and partway down. Finally I just repeated the inchworm in and out move. It hurt my shoulder and neck. My grandchildren are in two age groups so it becomes interesting creating activities. The older teens to collage still will decorate and hunt eggs. We put money in the filled eggs so it makes it worth their efforts :) My grandson 18 didn't color eggs this time. Our next big family gathering will be in May. We have 3 birthdays in May and Mother's Day. Generally the guys take care of food on Mother's Day. The two that are turning 16 at the end of the month generally have it at my daughter's house with the 15 acres. They open their pool and there are friends and family from both sides so it is a big crowd.

Good evening ladies!

This morning I did Crush it Low Impact followed up with SB hamstring lower body with Ball. This is a tough SB workout and I am feeling it tonight. Bob was not able to workout tonight so figured I would just get it done this morning since I still wake up so early. Several of the lunch ladies are on vacation this week so we will start up next week.

Deb...my brother lives about 2 hours from us. I have 4 brothers (no sisters) and he is the only one in the same state. Even though 2 hours is not that far we really only see eachother once ot twice a year. We talk frequently thpugh which is nice.

Lynda...I like Hardstrikes Low Impact a lot and have done it many times and I LOVE Compond Giant sets. I know exactly what you mean that it starts off not too bad but by the end...you are feeling it! The new Bootcamp Blast was fun and I really liked it. She did have some music issues that kind of slowed things a bit but I was prepared (I had quickly previewed) while everyone was doing jumping jacks while waiting I grabbed heavy weights and did some squats. Miserable day here today. Your dinner sounded delicious! Can't wait for GOT! I have The Entertainment Weekly Magazine that just came out and will be reading it tonight.

Valerie...since we are talking about Miralax I now have started taking this in the morning with the prescription Linzess. Once I added in the Linzess it became a life changing event for me. I finally feel like a normal person.

Diane Sue...the 22 min HC workouts looked challenging but do able. Now grant you I do not do pull ups (I use bands) so this does change the intensity. All and all they do look like a great quick workout. I may try one out tomorrow. Glad your neck/shoulder was feeling better as the day went on. Awesome the older grandkids clean up!! Your family gatherings sound so nice. :). Thanks for sharing your recipe. My husband will love this.

Hi to Josie and Judy!

Good morning,

Yesterday I did a Walk Fit, Vol 2 on the treadmill. Horrible night last night, hardly slept at all. Not sure what caused it either. I guess I will be napping some today.

Valerie, yes, the clinic sent me their recommendations for the week before the procedure, as well as what to do the 48 hours before. This is first time they have done that. I am only taking 3 pills total, plus the Miralax, I am still amazed that you can walk that far, carrying 25 pounds as well.

Lynda, I feel the same as you about the Live workouts, and I think that Compound Giant sets will be one of my favorites. Did you end up keeping Acorn? Unfortunately, Happy Valley is not free on Amazon. I started watching season 2 of Grantchester, and will take a look at season 4 of Mr. Selfridge, both are streaming on Masterpiece, so free. What do you think they are going to do to end The Good Wife? Will Peter be indicted? Speaking of The Good Wife, the guy that plays Eli is now announcing on Masterpiece, with a British accent! I wonder if he is really British..? Why would they have an American on their faking a British accent? Or, he may be British, and has faked an American accent all along, kind of like the guy that played Dr House. Edited to add: He is Scottish! Wow, he does a great job on TGW hiding his Scottish accent. The colonoscopy procedure is considered "preventative" and my insurance covers it 100%. ( thank goodness).

Diane Sue, thanks for the recipe, I copied it into Word for my Recipe file. How nice that the older grandchildren do the clean u0? My nieces and SIL always pitch in here too. What do you think caused that pain all along your side? Sleep in a bad position? That must have been scary.

Lori, great workouts, especially following up that low impact one with SB! Is there a lot of high impact in the new Bootcamp 'Blast?

Hi Josie & Judy,

Not much going on here, maybe a workout if I don't fall asleep,

Take care

Amazing how many of us have issues with our digestive systems, in one way or another! I've been bothered for decades and have worked out methods to handle it. I need a very high fiber diet all the time, lots of water, and still Metamucil. Deb, the restricted diet is to prevent bits of food residue left behind stuck on the inside walls of the colon. things like sesame seeds, bits of fruit and vegetable skin can be left and the doc has to check out each bit od debris to make sure it's not a polyp. So weird how sometimes sleep just won't come. get some naps today. Lori, Costco sells a Kirkland brand of "Miralax", way cheaper and bigger containers than the brand name. I think it's called Laxaclear?

Our main vacations have always been hikes and backpacking. Packs used to weigh a lot more because gear was heavier. the whole ultralight movement has streamlined gear, and technology made everything lighter. we haven't backpacked much the last few years but want to do more this year. we bought a new tent last year...only weighs 3 lbs, and it's bigger & easier to set up than our old 6 pound one. my record was about 22 miles in a day with an overnight pack of at least 40 lbs. we'd routinely do 10-12 miles. It's surprising what you get used to doing. my regular day pack is about 20 lbs but snowshoes are close to 5 lbs alone. DH and I met in a mountaineering course and always seem to over pack but we are ready for almost anything. We always have extra warm dry clothing. Diane sue, I don't like getting too hot or too cold so I carry enough to be comfortable in a range of conditions. I'm NOT someone who goes on a 10 mile walk in the mountains weatring jeans and tennies, carrying a cell phone.

we rode our short mt bike route yesterday, and did it in 65 minutes. fewer stops! we had an appt to get our winter tires switched out so did our short route but I'm pleased. this took us closer to 90 min when we first did it, and I was exhausted. Felt like nothing yesterday. the new bike helps too.

I love that actor too, alan cumming. He is ALWAYS good no matter the part.

oh yes, we are finally !!looking at iphones. it will be the 6s or 6s plus, not sure if the plus is too big.

Hi everyone--

This morning I did both Sweat workouts together (47 min.).

Deb, so sorry about your bad night. By all means, take a nap--just not too long so that it interferes with tonight's sleep. My prep for the colonoscopy was Suprep--basically two 6 oz bottles of foul-tasting but not too foul cough syrupy stuff, followed by a lot of water. It doesn't have some kind of salt that is in the pill prep that can cause renal failure. It wasn't too bad. Happy Valley is definitely not free on Amazon. I don't think you would want to watch Grantchester anymore if you watched it, because the actor who plays the vicar is the meanest, most awful villain in Happy Valley. I don't know how the GW will end, but I sure hope it isn't standing by her husband's side as he answers charges made against him. Alan Cumming is a Scot. He is excellent and does a lot of Broadway stuff. I did keep Acorn, but I probably should cancel since I haven't really explored it very much.

Lori, which lady is on your EW cover? They did multiple covers, all with the female characters. Mine is Margery. Sounds like a lot of the story lines will be about the women. How much impact in the bootcamp blast?

Diane Sue, that dressing looks very good. I would think those inchworms, pushups, bear crawls would be tough on your shoulders and neck. Bear crawls really get my shoulders and wrists and when I do pushups too, my triceps are trembling.

Valerie, I was just told to eat a light breakfast the day before and then all clear liquids. I really don't have digestive problems. I just remember having constant heartburn when I was pregnant--no fun! That's great that you can finally get an iPhone. I think you will like it.

Lorie, I may have asked this before but what is SB?

Deb, I am sorry you didn't sleep well. I do that sometimes and yes, it requires a little nap somewhere or I am useless. I know that a lot of my issues come on after I sleep. The side that has the most issues is the side I sleep on the most. I always end up there. I am not relaxing well either because I am trying to stay conscientious about it when I am trying to sleep. Once I am moving around and loosened up it gets better but over the course of a few hours it starts hurting again. It wasn't as bad this morning. My daughter thought it might be somewhat linked to my arthritis and the rain in the early morning hours. I tend to be a tense person so it takes work. Even when I lie on the foam roller I find myself tensing instead of relaxing into it. I get horrible neck pain when I get my hair done and my neck has to lie on those shampoo sinks. So bad I am usually running home for the Advil. When I get my nails done they always are trying to get me to relax my hands. I guess that is a huge thing I have to work on. Maybe that is why the 1/2 a muscle relaxer worked. She gave me 20 and I think I have used 3 and a half. I hate taking meds.

Valerie, I used to have to take Nexium all of the time. The doctor had me on heavy calcium for a long time and I had to live on Perdium for a long time. He had me take magnesium as well to help keep things moving. Anyway, I finally was able to get rid of that stuff. I just have to keep my diet in order. It was so bad I would bend over to pick something up and with the reflux it all came up and out my nose and throat and burned. My daughter had a patient whose daughter was able to correct her bone erosion with an alkaline/acid balance nutrition plan. Her doctor was amazed. Anyway, she got the plan from her and after I used it for awhile I just sort of adapted to it. I also find using a greens powder like Amazing grass daily is helpful. The plan has you eat fruit by itself and not within 2 hours of other foods. I don't eat a lot of fruit other than berries and an occasional green apple. So, I do not have a lot of problems with that. The only one I have that still will get me is too much dark chocolate in a sitting. I probably should leave it alone completely. Also at one point when I was using the Perdium all of the time I had to have surgery where they lifted the bladder and repaired some stuff a rectocele and a cystocele. That was really helpful with the laxative thing. I eat lots of greens and veggies. I used to eat two cups of all bran extra along with the Perdium. It was bad. I was always bloated.
We had iphones for years. I liked them okay but now that I have my Galaxy Note Android I don't miss it other than not being able to use some of my apps that I purchased. I still have two ipads. It just got to where it was hard to get repairs. I scheduled an appointment for the Apple store for repair on my iPhone 4. We still had to wait forever and there was a line clear out the door of people waiting. Only 2 places in Oklahoma for repairs. Anyway, I did their update which was sort of preparing for the next phone. It messed up my phone. They just told me they couldn't fix it but would sell me another for 200 dollars. That is when I decided I had had enough. I lost a lot of stuff not backed up on the phone. Plus we went to the ATT store right after to look at phones and it was 30 minutes to closing. They said they were busy and to come back the next day. We thought we might still get another iPhone at that point.

Lynda, are the sweat workouts from Ice? I really did begin to worry about those pushup bear crawl and inch worm moves when it continued much longer than I expected. That is why I skipped the push ups. Even being careful of the neck and shoulders and my alignment I can feel the push ups. I didn't put full weight on some of the bear crawls when she came down. I made note of these moves so next time I know what I may want to avoid. My grandson was doing inch worms and bear crawls through his house one day saying they do that for football and he was practicing.

Hi Ladies,

I'm glad that Easter is over with and can get back to my training. I took the whole week off and today when I went spinning it felt as if I had been away for 2 weeks. Karina put us through a though whole body workout since we did not see her last week.

The weather here was great last week and the kids had a great time. We also went to Palm Springs and got to spend a couple of days with my DB #4. I will be spinning tomorrow, bodypump and Karina on Thurday and resting on Friday. On Saturday I have my first century of this year's training.

Deb, my DH also had to take the Miralax. I had to drink the gallon of awful stuff. Hope that you get some rest tonight.

Valerie, that sounds like you and our DH did a marathon on our CX/walk. It has not been very cold here on my training rides, but I always wear a long sleeve shirt and my jersey on top of it.

Garance and Lori, I also can't wait for GOT.

Diane Sue, how many grandkids do you have? My DH takes Nexium and has for many years. His acid reflux has improved since he lost 20 pounds from working out with our trainer.

Hi to Valerie!

Josie

Hi Everyone,

The weather was so nice on Easter that we decided to grill outside. We had chicken and beef kabobs. Then the temperature dropped from almost 70 degrees to 40 degrees and rain on Monday. Sunday night I did 4 Day Split Lower Body & the leg drills from Lower Body Blast. Monday night I did Muscle Meltdown Triceps, 6 Rounds & Icy Core 1. I dropped the weight for the last 2 rounds. This morning I got back to my usual morning workout routine and did a long but very easy indoor ride. I rode for 2 hours while getting caught up on some reading. For the ride my heart rate average was 113 and max was 129 so it was more a recovery ride than a workout.

Deb-I'm sorry you didn't sleep well last night :( I do know how that goes. I hope you sleep better tonight. My body bar arrived today. I can't wait to start using it!

Valerie-I'm glad you are getting an iPhone! I think you will like it.

Lori-that would be great if Bob gets a bike! Is he looking at mountain bikes? I agree about needing more than 22 minutes for a workout. They sound like good add ons.

Diane Sue-was taking the extra calcium the reason you had to take Nexium? I am interested in the alkaline/acid balance nutrition plan. My doctor wants me to get a bone density scan later this year.
We had a bad experience with an AT&T store in 2009. We went in to upgrade our phones and the reps didn't want to help us, they just said we could go home and do it online. We walked out of the store and went to a Verizon store and have been with Verizon ever since.

Josie-Good luck with your century ride!

Hi to Lynda!

Judy

We did a 25 mile road ride today that was kind of tough because of a headwind. the first half was hard. 2.5 hours. beautiful day out, and we have about 5 more days like it coming up. 60-65, sunny, flowers blooming. Lovely out.

I've never had a heartburn/reflux problem. I only know what it is from other people describing it. I feel fortunate. Many people can improve by losing weight if they are overweight, and avoid trigger foods. DH quit carbonated beverages because they caused problems.

Lynda, around here colonoscopy prep diets don't allow any solid food for the "clear liquids" day.... But, different docs have different approaches. Ours says not even cream in your coffee! I doubt that would cause a problem but, since you have to go thru the procedure, best do it right the first time, and be done with it.
DH has had 4 now, and I've had 2 but all with the same group of gastroenterologists. People who work together tend to follow similar procedures.
Josie, we were in Fresno for about 24 hours but spent 3 days near Sacramento. we had a good trip, didn't get to ride as much as we'd hoped.

Good evening ladies!

This morning was Low Impact Sweat 2 and this evening was CLX Push Circuits. This is the first day that I can say I am feeling 100% myself again! At work I actually received several compliments that I looked so nice. My response was that is because I actually took some effort to get ready. Being sick I pretty much dragged myself to work. If you knew me you knew that was so out of character. I am one of those people that everything needs to match. Accessories and all. Right down to my underwear.

Deb...the Bootcamp Blast is not bad at all. The hardest blast would be in round 2. You do a snow angle then right kick and then left kick. Even this isn't so bad compared to just doing all snow angels. The next hardest blast would be towards the end which were split jumps. Again not hard at all but gets your heart rate up. I think you will like it. So sorry about your lack of sleep. Lately I have been sleeping like a baby!

Lynda....I feel the same way about the Live workouts. Love that I feel I am working out with Cathe and the girls! I do pretty much all live now with a few Ice DVD's thrown in. I buy the electronic version of EW and the first few pages are all the covers so I get to see them all. I have not read it yet but plan to very soon.

Valerie...it seems the older I get the more issues I have with digestion. I have an extremely slow digestion systems and it was causing more and more problems for me. To the point I were I was just so uncomfortable and in pain. All is good now with Linzess. I am a very happy camper! Thanks for the heads up with Cosco. I have been buying the walmart brand.

Judy...I got a chuckle out of "I rode for 2 hours while getting caught up on some reading"! Sounds like you had a really nice Easter Dinner. Bob wants a Mountain Bike. Very unlikely we will ever go mountain biking but that is what he wants.

Diane Sue...SB is Suzanne Bowen. Other than Cathe she is the only instructor I would pay for streaming. I love her as much as Cathe. I remember liking Butts and Guts Live. Loved the DVD of the same name and used to do it regularly. I had Rectocele repair in 2009 and it was a tough recuperation. My son was almost 9lbs (I am only 5'2") and had an episiotomy. I was told between the 2 it caused over the years for things to get progressively worse and I needed to take care of this. I do not wish that on anyone.

Josie...funny how that happens about taking some time off then bamm it takes a bit to get back into things. You will be there before you know it. So happy you were able to enjoy time with your grand children. I am so excited about GOT! Will be here before you know it!

Have a great night all!
