Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 3/27

Judy, I quit taking the Nexium when I realized all of the stuff it does. The doctor just prescribed it for the reflux I had. It messes up the digestive system because we need some acid. Calcium will not absorb without some stomach acid. There have been lawsuits because Nexium has caused kidney damage. Also it can lead to B12 deficiency. I tried to encourage my son in law and grandson to change their diets because of this. " It is the attitude that I have the pill so I can eat what I want " It is better to work at it and get the acid under control. I will try to find the acid/alkaline plan I used. I know I have it printed but I think I have it saved somewhere in my documents. It is several pages. After awhile you just know don't eat this with that. Dairy is a contributes to acid reflux a lot. When following it it definitely cuts down on a lot of standard cheese, tomato , protein combo foods and casseroles. The Calcium is just hard to absorb. Now they are not sure that the supplements are the best thing. Carbonate which is in many supplements and the citrate both tend to lead to constipation. When I could find it I would use calcium lactate or a blend. Now I read that you should not take the magnesium at the same time as the calcium for best absorption. I take a K2 and D with it sometimes. I try to put greens in with most of my meals in some way to balance alkalinity. They are good to have with your proteins.

Lorie, that surgery was miserable. When done I kept telling the nurse I needed to go to the bathroom and she told me know I didn't. I could not do pull ups or hanging leg raises for over a year after that surgery because it felt like I was pulling my insides or something. The doctor just said it was because I was getting older and after 3 children it was just one of those things. All 3 of my children were pretty small, all between 5'9 the smallest and the other two over 6'5oz.

Valerie, it is looking like spring here. We do have some storms coming in tonight but it will still be warm. They always start gearing up for tornado season on the news this time of year. I quit sodas years ago. The doctor told me to quit the Perrier too. It leaches calcium out of the bones. Now I really don't care for them at all.

Josie, it sounds like you had a nice vacation but it is always nice to get home and back to the routines. I have 8 grandchildren, 3 boys and 5 girls.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Live Giant Sets, this is my favorite Live workout so far. Actually the only one with a "5" rating...LOL. I slept better, feel good this morning. I didn't end up taking a nap yesterday, which I think helped.

Valerie, why am I not surprised that you and your DH ( name?) met in a mountaineering course? :). That is great! John and I met in a health club.. As for the iPhone, I like the 6 John has, some of my friends have the 6+ but it seems too big for me...almost like a tablet. LOL. No digestive problems here....only have to make sure I take probiotics every day. I didn't realize carbonated drinks were bad for reflux etc, glad I never liked them.

Lynda, I googled that pill prep that you mentioned, and that isn't what I am going to take. I have to take 2 or 3 pills only and that other stuff you can buy OTC with the Gatorade etc. I did see that the warnings of that one was about kidney failure. If that was what they prescribed I would be calling and changing it. I agree on the GW...and also what Carey did...the place is a zoo, time to get out.

Diane Sue, good workouts! What a coincidence, I mentioned to my hair stylist the other day that they better get new chairs or sinks where they wash hair....I end up with a crick in my neck each time. I can't imagine anyone with a neck problem able to sit in those chairs. She said they have all kinds of complaints about them and actually they are going to replace them with a complete remodel. About time! Lots of articles out now about Nexium and all that type of med, and the side effects. Kelly Ripa was on an alkaline balance nutrition plan and swore by it, not sure if she still does it. I am sure it has no coffee, so I would not be able to do it 100%. I use a supplement that has K2, Calcium and vitamin D all in one, then I take extra D. As for phones, I have a cheap LG android phone, simple, but it works. I would think those Inch Worms would be hard on your neck and shoulders.

Josie, sometimes it's good to take time off I am sure you will be back right where you were by the second workout you do. Good that your DH's acid reflux has gotten better, will he try to eliminate the Nexium at some point? Good luck on the century ride, that is amazing!

Judy, what workout will you do with the body bar? Does the alkaline /acid nutrition balance have an affect on bone density?

Lori, LOL about your matching everything....even your underwear! Thanks for the info on the blasts in that workout. I usually have no trouble modifying any high impact moves, but don't like to have to modify everything. Is a mountain bike good for riding around the neighborhood? That operation sounds painful, but good you had it done.

Not much here ....class tonight, and I am waiting for a call back from a painter that I called yesterday. We are going to have the downstairs painted.

Take care,

Judy,

thanks for letting me know about that workout....I have never done one actually Live....is that how you are going to do it? and thanks for the link. :)

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Live Total Body Reps (60 min.). Another great weight workout.

Lori, thanks for the description of the Bootcamp workout. I may be able to do that one. Do you change your purse every day to match your outfit? I would find that to be a chore. I usually just use one handbag for a long time until I get tired of it and buy something new, so I frequently don't match because I like a bright color for my handbag.

Diane Sue, there was a study reported on a few years ago (Scandinavian I think) on calcium supplements that basically debunked their effectiveness for bone health, and worse, linked them with an increase in heart attacks. My doctor told me to stop taking calcium citrate and fish oil (unless I wanted to pay a lot of money for mercury free supplements at about 50 dollars a month) because of the mercury contamination. He did tell me to up the vitamin D3 I was taking though. Maybe you should try meditation or mindfulness if you have a persistent issue with being tense. I try to meditate for about 20 minutes every day, largely because it helps me to focus when I am writing, but it also just increases my sense of well-being.

Deb, I couldn't survive without my morning coffee either. That's great that you had some good zzzz last night. I will have to check out Giant Sets. Can't remember if I did that one (?). If it's the one with all 8 lb dumbbells, then yes, I really liked that one too.

Judy, this weather is so weird. It's in the 60s today, but we are supposed to get a very big bad chill by the weekend--as usual, just when the students come back from their spring break. DH is grilling today, taking advantage of the good weather. I sort of have a body bar with the old Firm barbell, which weighs 10 lbs, and then you can add 2 1 1/4 lbs., 2 2 lbs., and/or 2 5 lb. plates. I used it today for Total Body Reps. Cathe gives you time to change plates on this one.

Valerie, milk and cream are definitely not "clear liquids" but I don't know why they might interfere. Also, no red jello--green, orange, and yellow are okay. Hey, you probably could have white wine! Or vodka! Or Gin! Wouldn't that be a hoot if you came in loopy for your colonoscopy and said, "Well (burp!) you SAID clear liquids."

Josie, I probably had heartburn from all the weight I put on with my pregnancies. They were both late and the first one was almost 9 lbs, and the second one was almost 10 lbs. Phew! I was happy to get them out.

Hi Ladies,

Spinning was great, but I forgot my spinning shoes and ended up using the cages. It was a bit weird, but after the 3rd song I was ok.
We are going to clean our carpets today, we bought an upright carpet cleaner and want to test it out.

Lori, the reason that you are sleeping better is that you don't have your old boss around ;). I also like to match my shoes and my purse, not to crazy on bright colors. I mostly wear wear black undies and only have a couple of neutral color bras for when I wear white.

Garance, I gained 40 pounds with each pregnancy, but my kids were only 7.1 lbs for my DS and 8.1 for my DD. You had some big babies! My DH weighed 10 pounds and I was afraid that I was going to have a 10 pound baby.

Deb, glad that you finally got some rest.

Diane Sue, that is a lot of grandkids. I have 5 and my DD said that she wants 2 or 3 when she gets ready to have them. I just hope that I have the energy to deal with all of them :).

Valerie and Deb, I met my husband Norman at a night club :). We both love to dance so that was a good place for us.

Judy, how much did you end up paying for your bar?

Josie

We did a hike this morning, about 2.5 hours RT so pretty easy. it was such a lovely day we got to a beautiful spot and we just sat in the sun and looked at Mt shuksan and Mt baker from the side of the lake, and watched ducks on the water. for about 2 hours. it was so beautiful and quiet. this trail is not hard but gets busy on weekends. when we got back to the parking area, a ruffed grouse was walking around and ducking under another car. totally fearless. we decided to drive up the road to the spot where we saw otters before, a marshy pond. we saw a pair of hooded mergansers( gorgeous ducks) there just sitting quietly, and a kingfisher. as we were sitting there I saw a HUGE frog cross the road and go into the pond. we looked closer and suddenly there were huge frogs popping up and down in the water, must have been hundreds of them...... a mating frog orgy of some kind!. Never saw anything like it before. they were plate size frogs. no otters this time.

Today is my birthday. DH( Michael) is making dinner too so I picked something I like and that isn't too big a challenge. we didn't buy the phone yet, didn't feel like shopping today. I'm fine with a few more days, and was thinking the 6se is out on the 31st so we might get a slightly better deal if we wait til next week. or not.

I took calcium supplements for a long time but agree, it's questionable now whether they do any good. my bone scans have been fine but I have a good diet with plenty of calcium without supplements. I bought a soda stream so I can carbonate my own water. I like a little carbonation, not as much as is in purchased water. I take extra D in the winter as we definitely are too far north to generate enough from sunlight.

Josie, we wrestled with cages on the spin bike for a while but use the plain pedals now. I cant do clip ins.

I could not see what harm some milk in coffee could do either, but I just had mine black that day. after my first semi botched scoping, I wanted to be SURE the second one went better. I did what they told me the first time, but due to my anatomy, it just wasn't as effective as it needed to be. I will say ....it did occur to me that chardonnay was definitely a clear liquid.... I used chicken broth with some ginger added, and lots of lemon and lime jello. I HATE jello anyway, but the "clear liquid day" really ingrains that hatred.

we chose not to have children. never been pregnant, and never regretted it. Not everyone has the disposition for raising children and neither of us did.
Deb, glad you got some rest...

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did Icy Core 2 then 65 minutes of spinning. I did a 35 minute Spinerval then 30 minutes of aerobic base riding.

Deb-I was thinking of doing the workout live tomorrow morning. I'll see how my morning goes and if it doesn't work, then I'll do it later in the day or on Friday.

Lynda-I've heard that too much calcium can cause serious problems too. I used to take a liquid Calcium-Mag. supplement but I don't even take that anymore. I try to get as much calcium as I can through diet. I do still take Carlson Fish Oil, but not every day.
The weather is going to get even crazier, I just saw the forecast and we are supposed to get snow on Saturday. Hopefully that won't last long.

Josie-The body bar was $45, shipping included. I'm glad I got it, I think I will use it a lot.

Valerie-Happy Birthday! I have never had children or been pregnant. I always knew that I didn't want to have children and I didn't regret it either.

I met my husband in a forum on bodybuilding.com. I had a blog there and at that time (spring 2007) my Mom had just passed away. I was writing a lot about that and Chris commented on my blog. We started emailing each other after that. We met in June and were married in November 2007.

Hi to Lori & Diane Sue!

Judy

I worked out this morning but had to get out to do some shopping and banking. I kept getting severe storm warnings on my phone app. I wanted to do it quick and get back. Now, I think I may be coming down with whatever coughing virus it is my husband has had for the last week. I got so busy that I didn't eat today till 4 when I got home. Then was helping husband with the wall board for the kitchen. Today I did Cathe Live 80's Style Cardio with Low Impact blasts, 48 minutes, 390 calories. I then put in Live Step express and skipped the warm up and stopped at the straddle jumps on and off the step and went to the last blast, cool down/stretch 26 minutes, 209 calories. HR 133 avg/ 164 max Total time 74 minutes and calories burned 599. I think I am running out of live workouts to try that do not have upper without previewing to see if I can skip body parts. Does anyone know if Muscle Max is similar in format to the dvd ? Legs, and each body part segments?

I found my acid alkaline print out in the paper form. I need to check my thumb drives because I might have it on there. The computer I originally had it on is not working. It is a rather detailed program. They suggest drinking alkaline water through the day or lemon water. According to it you can buy alkaline drops to put in the water. I drink lemon water a lot. It is quite surprising at the things that cause acidity and the ones that create a more alkaline environment. It has a page of alkaline foods listed in columns of slightly alkaline, alkaline and very alkaline and one that is the same way for acidity. I have never completely given up coffee. You can buy low acid varieties. I think the fresher beans are better. Grains should be eaten with vegetables and you do not eat grains with proteins like meat, poultry, eggs, seafood and all types of fruit. It dies suggest to try and avoid coffee and if you do drink it do not drink it with meals. No problem here because I generally have water with the meal. Dairy with vegetable and meats, poultry and fish but not ideal for these. Best with vegetables and not starchy vegetables. Nuts and Nut butters are included in the vegetables list. No grains of any kind includes bread etc.. with dairy. Also non starchy vegetables can be eaten with starchy vegetables and grains but not at the same time as with meats, cheese, and eggs. There is individual pages for what to combine with each type of protein and potatoes etc. I pretty much narrowed it down to knowing what I can and can't eat. I do eat a some plain greek yogurt occasionally. I tried coconut milk yogurt and it was soupy and tasted sweet. I need to get the stuff and try making my own. I have made my own nut milk before. Cashew milk was the easiest because some nuts need soaked. I used the pulp in banana bread.

Deb, I have heard from others that the giant set is a favorite. They do suggest no coffee or to avoid it as much as you can but when you do drink it not with a meal. Coffee is my morning wake me up kick start sit and read drink :) I love coffee whether it has caffeine or not. I have contemplated getting beans and trying roasting my own. The drawback is it seems many do it outdoors or in their garage because of the smell ? It must smell bad. You can do it with a hot air popcorn popper.. I look for whole bean that is fresh, and organic. I do like flavored coffee though. The fresher the less mold and toxins are in them. You get the good stuff from it. I do not take a full day worth of calcium because I figure I am eating about half of my calcium. I take more vitamin D on the days I am inside all day. If I spend at least 20 minutes outside I don't need it so much. I use the fish oil collagen formula that was not cheap. I don't use it all of the time either. I take 1 instead of 3 capsules as suggested on the bottle.

Judy, thanks for the link. I always try to keep up with the latest on bone building and saving what I have. We have friends that never had children. They just fed mine junk and gave them messy things to play with :) It was always a bit of my husband and his friend seeing who could out prank each other. That is interesting how you met your husband. I am glad that it worked out for you.

Linda, I do go upstairs and do a little relaxing yoga stuff. Some of the yoga workouts do not seem much like yoga when I am just lying there in positions with pillows (they use a bolster). Generally if a workout like budokon that has a before and after meditation in it, I skip it. I sit there and my mind wanders to everything. I think though, once I was doing one that had ocean sounds in the background and I was laying there and fell asleep. She startled me when she started talking :) When my husband was gone, I had downloaded a self hypnosis audio to my cell phone and it was a couple of minutes and I was out. I never did hear what all they were saying. It would probably help. My relaxing is in the morning when I am alone reading and drinking my coffee. Then movement and foam roller before I get started on the workout. I try to research for the best supplements when I get them. My husband bought me a large Dooney and Burke Bag and Wallet so I carry that almost all of the time. My daughter got me a Prada purse but by the time I stuff the wallet in it there is not much room for anything else. I had to laugh at the clear liquids )

Valerie, Happy Birthday. It sounds like your ride was really pleasant. I like how peaceful it all sounds watching the animals and ducks. We have geese that are always walking in the neighborhood and do not care if your sitting their waiting. My husband says he has come home late at night and saw deer in the street. We are by a lake and there is a park just up the street and woods and a creek behind the houses across the street. A small lake by one of our community pools. They do bone scans on me every 2 to 3 years. They have tried different medicines for bones. I think I mentioned that I quit the Boniva. It has been about a year. I noticed that I felt more joint pain right after I would take the once a month pill then it would level out. Also the warnings are that it can cause bone loss and it is supposed to work for the spine. It really made no sense to me to be taking it if it was going to cause other issues. My doctor didn't say anything when I told her why I quit.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Cathe Live Crush It Low Impact. A nice short cardio.

Lynda, I am sore of like you, I have 2 purses I really like, a black one I use all winter/fall, and a bright yellow one I use all Spring/summer. Purses have to have the right compartments for keys, phone etc and once I find ones I like I stay with them until they are trash. Then I go on a hunt for the "perfect" one again. LOL. I read somewhere that calcium does not work without vitamin D and magnesium. Funny how things like this change year to year. Yes, Giant Sets is the one where Cathe uses 8 pound db's the whole workout, 4 rounds of 7 exercises. I started out with 7's, and had to drop to 5's for the last round.

Josie, ahhh carpet cleaning, a sign of spring. :). It's rare that a husband loves to dance, so nice that you and Norman have that in common.

Valerie, Happy Birthday! What did Michael make for dinner? That was a beautiful hike, and the frog siting must have been amazing! Now if you were of today's culture, you would have whipped out your phone and videoed the whole thing.....did you? LOL John and I made the same decision.

Judy, I hope to do that workout a little later, or tomorrow. I wonder, if you actually do it while it is being filmed, do you see all the set up etc? I am going to start taking Krill Oil instead of the normal fish oil pills for Omega 3 supplement. Did Chris live in the same state when you met on the blog, or did one of you move to start seeing each other?

Diane Sue, I have not tried Muscle Max Live, don't remember reading about it in Lori's list either. I seem to think there are a lot of lower body only workouts though? That nutrition plan does sound complicated, but I guess once you have it down, it becomes easier. I try to eat plain, full fat Greek yogurt, but just can't get into the taste. Now that coconut one you mentioned sounds perfect for me. Where do you get that? I got a Dooney & Burke bag with a wallet from the people at work as a retirement gift, it is so small I only use it when I take the dogs for therapy work. All I carry in it is my ID, treats and phone. I don't use the wallet, It is one of those long shoulder type ones that works well so I can have 2 hands free all the time. I used to take Fosomax, but the Dr/Gyno told me to stop a few years ago, then all the warnings came out.

The painter is coming at 7:30 today for an estimate. Then we go and "rescue" the Saab from storage.

Take care,

Deb my Dooney and Burke bag is large and holds my 12 inch tablet along with extra chargers and everything but the kitchen sink. The wallet is a checkbook and wallet combo. I may put Muscle Max Live in and see how it is.

Today I did Cathe Live Muscle Max, 51 minutes, 256 calories. I skipped a little of it. This one does not use the step. Afterward I put on FitnessBlender.com and did two active Stretch workouts with Daniel one for upper and one for lower, 31 minutes, 51 calories. These held the stretch for one minute each and you were encouraged to hold the stretch and tighten the muscle so it has a bit of toning to it.

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Cardio Band Blast with weights live (48 min.). Too much impact for me and I won't do it again. No way I am going to jump back and forth over the band or do jumping jacks with a fire walker band around my ankles. I had to do a lot of modifications on this one.

Happy belated birthday, Valerie! That sounds like a lovely walk and a lot of wildlife to see.

Deb, I still have on my winter snow tires. I just don't trust this early spring. I currently have a big Coach bag in robin's egg blue--bucket. I can never find anything in it. I think I will move to a smaller bag this spring and something I can do cross body like my Vera Bradley iPad bag. I will probably head up to the Manchester outlets and see what Kate Spade has.

I don't think anyone is really ready for children--the work, the worry, the delight, the sleep deprivation at the beginning. I waited until I was professionally established with tenure and several publications to even think about it. I had no idea what a love affair with a toddler can feel like. I adored my little boys and was such an enthusiastic soccer/basketball/wrestling/track mom. I miss all the hubbub and would really (sigh!) like some grandchildren. I'm tired of knitting and sewing for myself.

Diane Sue, I think I did see a MM somewhere in that printout, but I have not done it. There are a lot of leg workouts though. I don't worry about special diets. I just eat what I want and everything in small portions and do some short fasts on the weekend. I always read an article that comes my way about some new diet, but I never go any further than that. I guess I'm too lazy and I like to cook rich food if the recipe looks special.

Judy, it sounds like your nasty weather may be headed our way. That sounds like a whirlwind courtship--how romantic! What size again is that body bar?

Hi to Josie and Lori!

Not sure what happened with my post this morning but 99% disappeared.

we did a 25 mile ride this morning. Lovely out, almost 70 degrees. EVERYONE is mowing their grass right now.

I have a black fabric "organizer" type purse but am mostly only using it for shopping. I hate big "black hole" purses. I have a tiny 3"x6" red zippered pouch that holds ID,key, phone, few other small items. I use this more these days because it fits into backpacks and bike packs. seems to be my life these days!

DH made me a black bean and butternut squash tostada for dinner. I was sticking in a link to it this morning when my first post disappeared. I'll try to do that again later. I'll eat some chicken and fish, but small amounts mixed into vegies, fruits, grains. Big chunks of protein don't have appeal for me.

we use our car as a "blind" when we watch wildlife. as soon as a person gets out, everything scatters! the frogs weren't big enough to video....we were watching with binoculars and anything that small doesn't show up.

I watch my diet mostly for excess calories. Being a vegetarian for so long, I'm used to combining things to get complementary amino acids for complete protein though I don't think anyone worries much about that now. I don't really take much in the way of supplements...... glucosamine, and vitamin D during the winter.

Lynda, that workout sounds like a tough one for the knees. When they do the jumping across and around the band I pretend there is one and sometimes it is more of a hop or skip. I get fed up with trying not to trip over the band. I made notes on my workout pages so I know what is on it. There is a lot of Impact on these workouts and my knee is starting to complain. Wish I could do a full upper body workout.
I make regular sauces and stuff when we have family over or for my husband. I love lots of seasoning. I like to cook. :)

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did Cathe Live Total Body Barbell and Bands. I used my body bar (20 lbs). It was the longest live workout I've done, at 73 minutes. I would compare it to Muscle Max or Muscle Endurance. Cathe covered everything, including core at the end. After that was over I stayed with Cathe Live and did an hour of indoor cycling.

Diane Sue-thanks for the diet info. It looks like I might have to modify my eating a little since I do some of those combinations.
It's great how you record all the sets in the live workouts. I didn't do that this morning but I should start doing it.

Deb-I did the workout live this morning. It starts right as they are warming up so I didn't see any set up.
I'll have to look at Krill oil.
I was living in Iowa when I met Chris. We talked on the phone quite a lot then he started driving out on weekends. I can't believe it's been 9 years!

Lynda-that's too bad about the weather. Our forecast looks unpleasant for the next week at least. I bought the 20 lb body bar.
Yes, it was kind of a whirlwind when I met Chris.

Valerie-a bike ride in 70 degree weather sounds heavenly to me!

Hi to Lori & Josie!

Judy

Good evening ladies!

Yesterday I did Live RockitSockit then when I came home it was CLX Push 3. This morning was Cardio Mish Mosh and tonight was SB's newest Barre Hiit. I feel like I am really back in the game!

Judy...today's Live workout did not interest me at all! I guess if I had the body bar I may like it. Haven't ordered it yet. Great that you continued on with a cycle workout. What a nice story of how and you and Chris met. Bob was a GM of one of our DC restaurants and he used to call me all the time instead of the mailroom. He used to drive me nuts and I thought he was such a jerk. Somewhere a long the way that changed and the rest is history. :)

Valerie...hope you had a nice birthday yesterday! That tostada sounds wonderful. I like anything with butternut squash. We have several couple friends that have chosen not to have children. You either want them or you don't there is no in-between! I take absolutely no vitamins or minerals whatsoever! I try to every now and then but always lose interest. I have a really hard time remembering my Diabetes medicine and now the Linzess! Fortunately I eat a well balance diet.

Deb...I really like Giant Sets also and have done it several times. I think you will like today's barbell workout. I love the Live Low Impact Crush workout...but of course you know I up the intensity! I use firewalker bands in the beginning until she turns the mat horizontal then I also use 1 or 2 lb weights whenever we are not using dumbbells.

Lynda...in the winter and late fall I do change out a several times with my pocketbooks but always a neutral color. However, come spring and summer...I match! I even have large totes that coordinate with my pocketbook most of the time. They all crack up at work. Today was so nice but WINDY here! Heard snow coming early next week? I can't remember if I liked the cardio band blast. Will need to look that one up. My son is 25 and has been with his GF for 6 years. I am so ready for babies so I know how you feel. I know they are still young and should wait until they are established but if it should "happen" I would be thrilled!!

Diane Sue...I have never had a band that broke during a workout. Matter a fact I still use every band I have ever purchased! I could never go without coffee. I need it to function in the morning. I still have yet to try out a Fitness Blender workout.

Josie...I am embarrassed to say I must easily own over 100 bras. Every color imaginable! I know it's crazy isn't it? My socks need to coordinate also so you can only imagine my sock inventory. I truly have OCD with my matching and I know it. You are correct about my sleeping. Oh it has been so nice! We are actively looking for a new CEO so keeping my fingers crossed.

Have a great night all!!

Valerie, that is what happened to me the other day. I typed a whole lot and it disappeared but left the first few lines. After the 3rd time I just left it alone. I thought maybe it had something to do with our internet. That recipe sounds good. I have a recipe I used to make a lot that used black bean pasta with corn and tomatoes and stuff that was a southwestern black bean pasta dish. I would top it with a dollop of sour cream. I made a salad and tilapia for lunch today with the avocado cucumber dressing. I couldn't eat the tilapia. It was so fishy. I bought it at Walmart and their seafood is not good My dog enjoyed it though. I have a Harley cross body bag that is small that I used to carry when we had our Harley. I use it when I take the dog for walks because I can carry my license, keys, cell phone and paper towels and a bag for dog clean up even though she never does anything when we are on a walk. It dawned on me the other day that I purchased a arm band to hold my cell phone and a house key. I could probably just put the other stuff in my pocket.

Judy, I think I saw that workout when I turned on Cathe Live this morning. They were doing firewalkers. Did they do one body part at a time? I like writing the stuff down. It helps when I do it again and taking note at starting points helps if I want to only use a segment or two. I could go heavier than I did on most of Muscle Max since it was not all high reps. I am still being careful lifting really heavy because my shoulder and neck comes into play some too. I should do another of the cycle workouts.

Lorie, I have a couple of the tubing with handles that I have had since the beginning. No problem. This was the medium Cathe Band. Fortunately I was just doing the biceps with the weights and tubing. A few years ago my daughter got me a set of the b-lines. I would like to get the heaviest set of the b lines. Now the bands have broken. My first ones were dyna bands. I always kept them in a baggie with talcum powder. Then I got the non latex ones from Cathe's. Some of the Cathe stuff I got at Academy Sports and Outdoors. I did have the green one tear on me recently too. And my medium firewalker band broke. My husband ordered me a pack from Amazon that was a called Athletic bands. There is a good assortment of strengths on those loops.

I enjoy my grandchildren. The older ones come over and we hang out and watch movies and play games. I am glad even as they are older they still want to come over. They help with things. Then the younger ones are different as it is more crafts and playing with them. Then it is back to watching them play sports or cheer at games and all of the fun things. Holidays are crazy fun :) My husband always tells our kids the grandchildren are the best because we can spoil them and send them home.

I just popped back on to say my post disappeared again but it came back. I saw a little pop up on the right corner that said time out?
