Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 2/11/2024

Today I did STS Disk 37 Squat Rack. These are the workouts that are 4 rounds each of 4 exercises with really long rests in between. Not sure what was up the last time I did it, but I upped my weights from what the workout manager said for a couple of them and on one after the first round. I did the regular legs for Meso 4 maybe once. I prefer the squat rack workouts.

Has anyone ever put drops in a cats ear? It's literally ONE drop. You'd think I was the most evil incarnate. Did it last night and again this morning, though last night Derek helped and this morning, I had to do one ear (and he fled) and then the other when I found him, and then he fled again. 5 1/2 more days to go. And we still have to check the other cats. Today is supposed to be my shopping day, but I needed to do the workouts and it was snowing pretty hard for awhile earlier and we got about an inch. Have decided, I'll just go tomorrow. Snow stopped, but it's not going to melt. Our road may just get packed down and be not fun tomorrow, but the highway should be fine by then.

Valerie enjoy your amusement from afar. LOL Once we got to the vet and we dumped him on to the scale, he just parked himself on it. So, after he got weighed, they just pulled it over and did the ears while he was on it. Then, unlike pretty much every other cat I've ever had, afterwards he didn't want to go in it, and we had to shove him in!

Judy glad you are feeling better.

Hi Carolyn and Diane Sue.

No workout again today. I picked up my car and returned the loaner this morning. Then I needed to go to the grocery store.

Valerie, it’s great that you had a nice long ride yesterday. You will be back to your usual riding soon, with appropriate precautions of course.

Cathy, I’m glad that you could get Mopsy to the vet and administer the drops in her ear. That sounds like quite the adventure. Great job with STS disc 37, squat rack. I never did the squat rack legs.

Judy, I’m sorry that you were not feeling well. There is so much going around this winter. I hope that you continue to feel better.

Hello to Diane Sue.

Today I had to go out again on an errand, but managed to get in a workout after I got home. I did Raw Heavy Up and Move, 34 minutes, 137 calories, heart rate 112/145. I watched the workouts last night to get an idea what I was in for. I then did Raw Lean Physique Kickboxing NRG and really liked it, 31 minutes, 155 calories, heart rate 127/148. I finished with CDorner Day 8 Total Body Stretch along with 5 minutes of yesterday's mobility that had too much time on my hands doing bear and down dog. This was 20 minutes, 35 calories. Total time was 86 minutes, 327 calories, 2,756 steps. I had a nice time with my ladies group Tuesday. The pulmonologist gave me a different inhaler and another med to try. She felt bad about the huge cost of the last inhaler. She said to call her if something costs like that. I checked the pharmacy this time to check the price before I went to pick up. I will probably not get workouts in this weekend. Probably just tomorrow morning. Lots scheduled for this weekend.

Today I did STS 2.0 Upper Body express, 2 sets maximum. That was 57 minutes and 179 calories burned. Average heart rate was 109 and maximum heart rate 149.

Diane Sue, great job with Raw Heavy Up and Move, Lean Physique Kickboxing, and CDorner Total Body Stretch. I hope that the new inhaler works better for you.

Hello to Valerie, Cathy, and Judy.

Seems like everyone has had a flu or URI since december. hope you dodged the worst of it Judy.

I walked our neighborhood with my neighbor for an hour this morning. DH had a big dental procedure yesterday so he has to lay low for a week. not sure if we are going anywhere now. weather is an issue and also whether he feels good enough. I took yesterday as a rest day although I ran around plenty.

Shopped today so no workout. And wow did that workout yesterday do a number on my inner thighs. Glad I don't do legs again until next Wednesday. Still have to do Mopsy's ears tonight, but last I knew he was outside. He's avoiding me. Only way to do it, is to sit on him and pin him down. So, not fun.

Valerie nice that you can walk with your neighbor while your husband isn't able to go.

Carolyn great job with STS 2.0 Upper Body express.

Diane Sue nice job with Raw Heavy Up and Move, Raw Lean Physique Kickboxing NRG and stretch.

Yesterday I worked 6 hours then in the evening I did a Peloton 30 minute Beginner Bike Bootcamp. It was really beginner level, I think it was the easiest Peloton workout I’ve ever done. It felt like the workout was mostly rest periods with a few exercises thrown in. It was perfect since I was tired and didn’t want to do anything hard. Today I did a 30 minute row then Muscle Meltdowns Triceps and Biceps and 5 minutes of abs.

Cathy-I’ve never had to give a cat ear drops. I have had to give them pills and that was quite an adventure. It’s definitely a challenge to do something like that to a cat. I hope it gets easier to give them to Mopsy. Great job with STS Disk 37 Squat Rack.

Carolyn-Great job with STS 2.0 Upper Body express, 2 sets maximum. I’m glad you were able to get your car back yesterday.

Diane Sue-Great job with Raw Heavy Up and Move, Raw Lean Physique Kickboxing NRG and CDorner Day 8 Total Body Stretch.

Valerie-Great job with the walk. I hope your husband’s recovery goes well.

Just finished STS Disk 27. That's Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps. These are LONG workouts. Somehow anything over 60 minutes even if it's less than 10 extra minutes seems forever. Didn't help that I slept in, and got a really late start. Derek got Mopsy's ears done last night around 11, and I got him this morning when he wedged himself between the bed and wall. Neither time was hard, so I'm very prepared for things to get rough again. Right now he's wedged in beside a chair so tightly he barely fits. I'm sure he thinks he's hidden. LOL

Judy great job with the Peloton workouts and Muscle Meltdowns Triceps and Biceps plus abs.

This morning I did KCM’s Cardio Fit, workout one. This is kickboxing interspersed with lower body intervals. It was 30 minutes, 194 calories burned, 131 average heart rate, and 168 maxes heart rate.

Valerie, it’s good that you were able to walk in your neighborhood with your neighbor.

Judy, nice job with the Peloton Beginner Bootcamp ride and Muscle Meltdown Triceps and Biceps.

Cathy, great job with STS disc 27, biceps and triceps. The length of those workouts is one that that I dread about STS.

Hello to Diane Sue.

Walked the local park again this morning for an hour and 20. it was very nice out and saw the first blooming shrub, a currant bush. also a lot of birds. by walking every week we can see the change clearly in a week. there was some sort of search quest going on for hidden crystal balls so a lot more people than usual for a saturday in February. still ok but better on weekdays. I keep doing my therapy even tho I'm formally done going to the facility. I get tired of typing it. I will keep it doing it most days for a long time yet. it cant hurt and I do fewer but harder exercises so it doesnt take as long.

tee hee cathy...yes, I am enjoying your ear project from afar! mopsy sounds like a real character. in my experience it did not get easier with time. you get just as much resistance on time #10 as time #1.
