Good morning,

No workout yesterday. I did get the new DVD's yesterday. I spent a few hours at the hospital yesterday. It took about 18 hours for them to find a room for my friend. She was in the ER room all that time. The worse news we could get….the cancer has moved to her brain. She has lesions on her frontal lobe, which is what is causing the confusion and weakness in her left arm. I am so sad for her and her family. She never got a break with any of this.

Valerie, I am not a fan of too much of that icing. have been know to scape it off of things as well. I like the idea of walnuts instead of pecans. They are my favorite nut. I am sure you have tried a new DVD player with the workouts that have too loud sound?

Lori, that is so great how you can customize your workouts! Do you have a special program that you use to do that, or is it just the workout blender that allows it? I may preview the workouts today, not sure. I am kind of confused about them.....I at first thought there were actually 2 separate workouts on each DVD, but it looks like some just go from the first named workout, right into the other named one? Not separate with their own warm up and cool down? Do you have the yearly subscription of Live or month to month? Gigi's antics while you work out made me smile.

Diane Sue, that Cardio Core B&B premix sounds good. What is the new room again? Somehow I thought it was an exercise room for you.

Judy, is that you in the pic?

Carolyn, parchment baking sheets are great, especially with something like cinnamon rolls. Not only do they not stick, the clean up is so much easier.

Take care,

Deb-I am so sorry about your friend. That is devastating news. I will continue to pray for her and her family.
Yes, that was me in the photo.

Deb, I am so sorry for your friend and her family. That is devastating news. I love pecans and walnuts. I buy the bags of walnuts at Sprouts in bulk and keep them handy all of the time because I like to put a few in my kale salads. Walnuts are generally not as costly as pecans. I use walnut oil a lot for salad dressings. I got my downloads last night and the workouts each have the cardio and strength together. My media player does not show premixes again, just like the Fit Tower workouts. I hav e nt checked with itunes yet. I hate having android devices and having to use itunes to get the premixes to play. I really dont get it. I did get the dvds though and know you can do stuff separatelynthat way.

Judy, I figured that was use in the picture, but the hair color sort of confused me for a bit.

Diane Sue-I've gone back and forth with hair color. I had it lighter for a few years, then went back to darker.

Good Morning,
Today I did the Ultimate Yogi Gentle Yoga for 55 minutes. I really needed the slow gentle stretch today.

Deb, that’s very sad news for your friend and her family. She has really been through a lot this year.

I don’t put nuts or raisins in my rolls. I prefer them without. I always have pecans and I use them in baking but I usually eat walnuts or almonds.

Judy, participating in a triathlon is quite an accomplishment even as a team member.

Diane Sue, I’m glad that you got your downloads. Did customer service send you the email again? Thanks for the feedback on the foam roller.

Lori, I am so impressed with the way that you customize your workouts. Great job!

Valerie, I can’t do levitation holds either so I ignore Cathe on that move. I do my own variation which involves my abs but I don’t leave the floor.

Have a good day and stay warm.

Good afternoon ladies,

This morning was WS3 Barre Sculpt then Fit Split Low Impact Cardio. I then finished off with a LEKfit Dance Bounce. Boy the Barre Sculpt is harder than it looks. This was my second time doing this workout. I use only 5lbs as she does but I add ankle weights. Using the ankle weights really ups the intensity on some of the side leg lifts. I liked FS Low Impact also. I kept my ankle weights on and used 1lb hand gloves. So far 3 for 3 with Flit Split for me.

Deb...oh so very sad news. My thoughts and prayers are with your friend. She just never got a break at all. I do not use the Blender for my videos. I save them on my Ipad which allows me to use Imovie to edit to my liking. Imovie is an App you can purchase from Itunes. I can delete a section or add in a section from another workout. Main reason why I like buying the dowloads. I have a large collection of Cathe downloads and it makes it fun to pull from all different workouts. Once I create the workout I save it to a hard drive plus my back up hard drive (you can never be too safe!) I am so appreciative that Cathe sells downloads. The Fit Split workouts do seemed to flow right into eachother. I removed the stretching from all of them and gave them their own file. So when I finish the workout and do not plan to add on another then I can easily click on the stretch. Otherwise I will continue on to my next workout. I do the monthly subscription. I knew I was undecided so did not want to get locked into a year. I keep justifying it is only $10 a month...but then it is $10 a month that can go towards something else.

Diane Sue...I may be reading your email incorrectly but there are no premixes with downloads. Only the main workout. That is why I create my own. Which works great for me. I enjoy making it exactly how I like.

Judy...I went dark this year. I have been red for over 20 years and needed a change. I am now closer to my natural color. I agree that participation in a Triathlon is amazing! Good for you!

Carolyn...funny I like raisins uncooked but once they are baked I can’t eat them. It is a texture thing with me. 7 degrees here right now! The Patriots are playing home and everyone looks sooooo cold!

Any plans for this evening? We always stay in. Can’t remember the last time we were up at midnight!

Hi to Valerie!

Deb that is not good news. Some people do not catch a break. cancer is relentless.

I really love nuts but not pecans. DH thought they might be a migraine trigger for him so that was it... I sub walnuts. the rolls I make are called Honey Buns. they more closely resemble a pecan roll, except for walnuts instead. the spice is cinnamon. nuts on the bottom of the pan so when you flip it after baking, they're on the top. I don't know why I never used parchment. yes, simplifies cleanup and no sticking. an old recipe. I started making them before parchment was readily available.

Deb I have not subbed in another DVD player. we have 2. newer one is in our family room. it's not a simple connection. I can't swap them. as long as it plays, player will probably stay. Recently bought a new small TV for the room. came with a marginal sound system. DH bought a sound bar to hook to it. there are now 4 remotes for our 'simple" system. not technical enough to manage it as it is, I don't want to unplug anything.

Comforting to know I'm not the only one who failed levitation holds! I can't even begin to raise myself. I don't know how to activate in that position. my arms are too short? I also tried with dumbbells to lengthen my arms but never could do it. I've been faithful with ab workouts lately, should go back and try it again. DH uses a Cathe disk called Ab Circuits. it has a lot of different workouts. not sure which one he uses.

I remember sitting on an Airdyne and thinking the seat was the worst. a huge spongy thing that was massively unpleasant. I've always preferred a harder narrow seat. Did it make a lot of air noise riding ? We used to have a cycle trainer. it worked fine, used a regular road bike but it made so much wind noise you could not listen to a TV or music. way too loud. Nice because you could set up your regular bike on it. I don't like ear buds. if equipment is noisy, that's a deal killer for me.

Judy terrific you had a chance to participate. there are races here that involve three sports. they start in the mountains with a downhill snow ski, then switch to bike riding, and then running. or running and then riding. different versions with teams of people each taking a leg of the journey or like a triathalon with one person doing all sections and switching equipment.

No workout yesterday. will do something today.

Judy, I have finally settled on a medium to dark blonde shade which is what my natural color was. I've went through strawberry colors, light brown, and once a dark brown. My husband didn't like it the last time I went dark which was more because the natural color product I was using kept making my hair darker. I finally went to a salon and they did color weaving to help me get back to my lighter shade.

Carolyn, they sent me an email again thinking it was the code with it and it just said my order had been sent. I responded and after several emails I got the code :D The whole thing was repetitive of last time. I think they should put something in the pre-sale to remind people that they won't get their code if they use Amazon Pay or Pay Pal till the downloads are available. I f I had remembered I would not have used Pay Pal. There has to be a better alternative. I don't understand why when they send the message saying order sent that it does not have the code on it.

Lori, for some reason I thought that I was able to get the premixes with itunes and on my older windows 7 laptop with Fit Tower. I will have to look again. I just noticed that my downloads on my regular laptop did not have the premixes. My granddaughter 17 called and asked to bring her boyfriend and come to dinner and stay till 9 when they have a New Years gathering at their church. Of course, I love it when they com :D I got out a roast and am making my favorite homemade brownie recipe for this evening.

Valerie, I have used the Ab Circuits dvd a lot. It has a lot of good workouts. My favorites are the med ball one and the stability ball one. I do a lot of abs and even when I am regular at doing it several times a week, I cannot do those levitation holds. I watch Cathe's hand position and watch the others. Nothing helps. I think Brenda does not get clear of the floor. Once I am up, I can feel my abs tense even if my toes are still on the floor. I can pull one foot up, but the other has to touch the floor. I don't know if it is arm length though because even with something to hold onto I am still not helped.

I remember cathe bouncing a little and saying "Huh? How's that happening?" and those are my thoughts exactly. I'm not sure it's all a strength issue but knowing how to activate the right areas. I've had no luck at all. I need to pull out the Ab circuits . I get tired of going thru chapters to get to the abs. would be easier if I find one I like in there. I

for what it's worth, I think going lighter as you get older holds up better than darker. too dark looks fake, and the regrowth line is obvious. I'm a little lighter than I once was, but I'm not that gray yet. I stay pretty close to my original brown shade.

Valerie, I have been going to purchase Cathe's Ab Hits compilation from some of her workouts. It is the only one that I do not have of hers. I always figured they were on the dvds I had and it wasn't necessary, but I think it would make things easier because I tend to forget which dvds had which ab workout that I am thinking I want to do at the time.
I was going very light, but my grey has come in and is darker so I reverted to what is more my natural color. I have tried three shades from Madison Reed and the last one did not do much for my grey and I am using the root touch up to get to next coloring day. I went back and red and the shade I chose was for those with less grey to cover. I was going to contact them till I read up on it on their site. I need the color with an N in the name. I have only let my natural color grow out once since I started coloring at 12 years old. At that time I let my hair get very long. Then I went to having it colored at a salon. Finally I decided I would go back to doing it myself. My hair was not in good shape when she did it and she basically threatened that no one else would know the color mix she used if I went somewhere else. I thought that was odd as I hadn't told her I was thinking of quitting.

I saw Kelly Coffey has her Vimeo channel up. I did not see a workoutthere yet. I had to download the app. She just had video clips and talking about her new channel. It is Coffeyfit . I wonder if Amy Bento will maybe follow.

Happy New Year everyone. it's cold ( about 30 or so) and clear here so maybe we will ski in the AM. depends on if we get any sleep with all the noise already.

If you are looking for a really good TV series, take a look at The Crown. It is outstanding. I'm not a big follower of British monarchy, the royals etc. this series is just first class acting, script etc and as far as I can tell, very historically accurate. amazing... Elizabeth has been queen since 1952.
be sure to start with season 1. there are only 2 seasons available. we were so thrilled with it, we followed up by watching Victoria, another historical british series but it's no where near the quality of The Crown. Not good to go from a 5 star to a 2 star. Highly recommend The Crown.

I did a 40 min x train spin, MM triceps, and Icy core 1. about 1 hr 15 min. Meant to look at Ab circuits today but had the disk in for MM triceps and just went on with Icy core workout.

Good morning,

Happy New Year!

No workout yesterday. John's cold has returned, and I had the worst headache. It finally subsided by the time I went to bed. It feels like it is coming back right now though. Not sure if it is sinus, or a tension headache.

Judy, I too, was thrown off by your hair color in the picture. A triathlon is very impressive, indoor or out.

Diane Sue, I like nuts in salads too. Mostly walnuts. I eat them in oatmeal as well. It's so that I don; t feel oatmeal is complete without them. I bought pecans as our New Years day tradition is to have sugared pecans. The kids love them. It's only once a year so that is ok. I always thought that there were no premixes on the downloads, that the blender was for doing your own. Thanks for the info on KCM's channel. This must be the one she is going to charge for?

Carolyn, did you get your new DVD's yet? I wish Cathe would put out the booklet as soon as she ships the DVD's. I am looking forward to the rotations.

Lori, that app sounds perfect for what you do. I don't know how you keep track of all the workouts in general, streaming etc, then the ones you make yourself. Just keeping track of the DVD workouts is overwhelming at times for me.

Valerie, another one here that could never do a levitation hold. I gave up trying. I would definitely try a different DVD player if the sound issue was going on. It should just be unplug one and plug the other in. Ab Circuits has some great ab workouts. My brother and SIL also recommended The Crown. I am not sure if I can get it on Prime....probably not.

We are going to my brother's for an early dinner....

Take care.

Valerie, I hope skiing goes well forvyou today. Itvis clear here today, but only 5 degrees outside. I always find when my husband and I find a series we love, it is so disappointing when it is gone. I like when they end without a cliff hanger. Of course the crown being on actual facts should be different.

Deb, I am probably wrong on the downloads. I will check when I go upstairs to work out. Yes, this will be Kellys pay site. I think the Yountube raw workouts will just stay as they are. She was asking what people would like for her to do on her channel to get feedback. I believe she said she had a home gym interval type workout loaded up. I like using that one with the spin bike and treadclimber. I will go back later today and check it out.

Looking forward to FitbSplit today :)

Happy New Year! This morning I did WS3 Metabolic Conditioning for 34 minutes and 155 calories. My average heart rate was 114 and maximum heart rate 136.

We are planning a quiet day today with an early dinner and lots of football. I am still tired from Christmas.

Deb, I hope you feel better soon. Your headache sounds like the weather related headaches that I get.

Valerie, funny you should mention The Crown. That’s a show that I plan to watch soon. I have read good reviews and my daughter loves it. Ab Circuits is a great workout.

Hello to everyone and have a wonderful day.

Happy New Year! Yesterday I did Jessica Smith Strength Interval Walk, Toning Walk and Healthy Back Walk. Those are from her Walk On Series. We stayed home last night. It was so cold and it looks like it will be staying that way all week. Today we plan on going out a little, maybe do some shopping and get lunch.

Deb-I agree about the user guide for Fit Split. I'd rather have it before I start the workouts. My DVDs should arrive tomorrow. I'm sorry about John's cold and your headache. Chris and I started feeling like we were getting colds on Friday. Just a lot of congestion and sinus symtpoms This weather isn't helping at all.

Valerie-I agree about hair color. I've started going lighter again, and I feel like the grey blends in better than when my hair was dark.

Carolyn-I get weather related headaches too. I had one a couple of weeks ago, when the low pressure system moved in.

Diane Sue-I'm going to take a look at Kelly's Vimeo channel later today. I'll probably subscribe for a month and see how I like it.

Lori-Thanks for mentioning iMovie. I'm going to try it. I don't have a lot of Cathe downloads yet, but I have enough to work with.

Plan to ski today went kaput. we got some low temp alerts from our Montana house and had to contact furnace guy to check on what is wrong. we need to be in phone range and skiing is not. we keep house at 53 degrees and when it goes to about 48 we get alerts from the smart thermostat.

We streamed The Crown on Netflix. I'm not a follower of the royals.... had to look up british royal family history to make sure I understood who was who. Really, the series is just outstanding. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it. well, maybe kids. I already looked ahead to see about a 3rd season. seems like it will be done possibly by the end of 2018 or early 2019 with a different cast. people in the first two seasons were fabulous, but all are not returning for 3rd season. next season jumps forward in time a bit.
I am always surprised at how little history I remember from times I lived through it. news coverage is way different for sure these days but things from 50's, 60's don't remember much.

Deb it's not a simple plug in/ unplug process. the whole thing is stacked on a table in an alcove and a complex hook up. it likely has to do with the DVD player. it's a Toshiba but old. plays movies fine, and all older disks up to the ice series. DH set the whole mess up, along with a new TV, apple TV and a new sound bar. things streamed thru the TV sound better. movie DVDs are fine. only the new Cathe DVDs are a problem. so I will live with it until the player tanks.

Ha ....I held hope I'd be someone who turned that gorgeous, steel gray silvery color. no. just mousy gray and not all over. looks drab. My hair was medium brown. when I get it colored she does roots first, then later pulls the color thru the rest of my hair. the result is a nice blend of color shades that looks natural.

Kelly has her dvds on sale today. Most are $10.00 (excludes Build and Burn). Her Vimeo site will be $9.95 a month. I didn’t know how my hair would look when I stopped coloring it, but I was fortunate. It is a silvery gray and I often get compliments on it. It took me a while to adjust to the new look because I wore wigs for a year and a half. I had a lot of hair loss with radiation followed by Tamoxifen.

Good afternoon ladies,

This morning was WS3 Cardio Hit, a BBS fire walker workout then a LEKfit bounce that had a ton of kicks in it so it complimented the Cardio Hit. Total time was 69 mins / 514 cal. Going to try and get up earlier and do a 60 min workout before work starting tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Judy...I remember the Airdynes. They were so popular in the 80’s? I had a schwin exercise bike that I loved. Never had the desire to get an airdyne. To use Imovie you need to get your files into your camera roll on your Ipad. You can do this by uploading to dropbox then saving to your ipad. This works great but time consuming. I ended up purchasing this Sandisk and I love it. Perfect for what I needed. Then once you create the movie I save it back to the camera roll then save to my computer by directly attaching Ipad. At this point it is an .mov file. I prefer mp4 so then my final step is to convert to Mp4. Sounds like a lot of work but it really isn’t. If you decide to do this I will always be here to help with any questions. Also...if you find and easier way then let me know!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RBGYPNE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Valerie....funny because I do feel the same way about getting older and going dark. I think I still can carry off the dark for now. My husband likes it and he would certainly say so. I was red for such a long time and was getting sick of the upkeep. Dark right now is so much easier. It has been so cold here the past few days. Right now it is 8 degrees. Ugh. Thanks for the info about The Crown. I have seen it advertised but never really paid much attention to it. Will do so now.

Carolyn and Diane Sue...thanks for the info on Kelly’s Channel. I think that it is great she is doing this but not something I will be purchasing. Even if Amy came out with a channel I would pass. I have plenty to keep me busy.

Caroyln...your hair sounds beautiful. A friend of mine is on Tamoxefin and she is fortunate to not lose that much hair after her radiation.

Carolyn and Judy...I loved Cardio Hit! I used my hand weights and ankle weights. I thought it was a great workout. At one point my HR was at 161 and I was sweating like crazy.

Deb...hoping John is feeling better soon and you are not sick again!!!! That stinks! I need to be very organized with my digital files to keep track of everything!

Have a great day all and stay warm!!!!
