Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 12/12

This morning I did Time to Hiit It: Low Impact. That is a really good hiit workout! 27 rounds and with a couple exceptions short breaks in between. I was checking the wall clock and lots were under 15 seconds. I was soaked when I got done. It was shopping day, but Derek had a physical at 11:00, so we went shopping after that. Meant the stores were busier than my usual early morning shop. I've got all my Christmas shopping done. Only one thing from a store and that was running into the nursery where my parents get their bird feeding supplies to grab a gift card. The four of us decided this year instead of stockings we'd do an under $20 gift exchange drawing numbers for gifts. Derek wandered around Meijer today and found his exchange gift, plus small gifts for all of us, the cats and a couple new Christmas bulbs. LOL Nick is working the 9 pm to 6 am shift in ER tonight, but it's with his favorite doctor so he said when it gets slow at 3 a.m. he won't be bored!

Valerie I'm glad you finished out your trip with a great ride. You had 40 and we started the day with 62 degrees and heavy winds. My car isn't high profile at all and I had to keep my hands firmly on the wheel to stop it from shoving me sideways! Now were down to a more normal 39. Safe travels home!

Carolyn great job with Rev'd Up Rumble!

Judy great job with the Cathe Live and PHA workouts!

Today I did Live #300, Metabolic 300. I liked it and will probably do it again soon. I wasn't sure about the weights to use and had to pause several time to change weights. Next time I'll have a better idea and be more prepared. I work the next 5 days. My shifts are short, 4-6 hours, so it won't be to bad and I should be able to get some workouts in. I'll be off Dec 24-26 and Dec 31-Jan 3. We'll be staying close to home this year, like last year. Hopefully next year will be closer to normal and we might be able to make some travel plans for the holidays.

Carolyn-Great job with Rev'd Up Rumble.

Cathy-Nice job with Time to Hiit It: Low Impact. I'll have to check that one out.

Diane Sue- Good luck with your surgery. I hope you have a quick recovery.

Hi to Valerie

No workouts. I really do need to do more stretching though. For some reason I am really tired. Maybe it is because nights are uncomfortable shifting positions all night. I got up this morning and sat in the recliner upright and fell back to sleep. I would like to have my energy back. Now I am waiting for the bone and joint hospital to call with specifics for that day. I gather masks are worn even during procedures. Not sure how that works. At least that is how it sounds when I looked up the hospital which is downtown Oklahoma City. I asked the woman about the day before testing and prep before surgery day and she said they have not been doing that since covid to keep the amount of people down each day in the facility.
I hope I don't have to contact them about that as well. My daughter says it is unbelievable that I have to call of these medical people to get them to do what they were supposed to do. I hope the surgeon shows up..........I have not met him, only his PA in one of his offices. Soon I will be done and can work on recovery. They did say I would still feel the arthritis that is there. He showed me the areas in the x-ray. Also I have bursitis as well. But, I will get rid of the pain from the tear.
So, I will be recovering on Christmas. We already had our Christmas so, no big deal. I am getting a bit tired of sitting around the house. I order groceries and things and sit here. Not normal for me as I am usually busy all of the time.

Valerie, it would be hard when visiting someone with totally different ideas on what is fun. I like looking at gardens and plants, but my husband would rush from point A to point B and be done with it. Kind of like when we went to the downtown indoor gardens.

Carolyn, I am not so interested in being on a cruise ship with a bunch of people that are generally more into a partying type of atmosphere. Besides, I had a bad experience on a yacht cruise in the gulf once and spent the whole time sea sick, so the thought of that is not pleasant. Thanks for posting my update. The surgery is Wednesday. I guess I posted on the wrong thread.

Judy, nice that you have some shorter hours and time off on the holidays.

Cathy, I do not enjoy crowded areas. I like our edge of the city area where there is still open space, but still shopping not too far. As I said above cruises do not sound fun to me. Although I really do not like travelling all that much. I would prefer to avoid flying or cruises. Home feels pretty good when I think about it. That was a lot of walking at the Detroit zoo.

Today I did Push Pull (Body Blast series), an oldie for sure. My time was 52 minutes with 163 calories burned. Average heart rate 104 and maximum heart rate 134.

Cathy, nice job with Time to HiiT It: Low Impact.

Judy, great job with Live Metabolic 300. Your work schedule for the holidays sounds like a good one. I’m going to be hopeful for next year to be more normal. Fortunately we have figure out how to manage things safely with immediate family, but I would love a larger gathering with my siblings and their families.

Diane Sue, it’s great that you already had your family Christmas. That way you won’t feel like you are missing out on things because of the surgery.

Hello to Valerie.

Today I did Cathe's Live from yesterday, Legit Legs. Really good workout. All standing and she uses 10, 12 and 15's, but says go heavier at home if you want. I was fine with those weights. Also a gliding device and high step. Fast paced and I got 38 zone minutes for the 48 minute workout.

Only place we are going over the holidays will be to my parents one day and I might push that back to the 30th as DH has that day off and the traffic will be better than right around Christmas. Plus the boys have lots of appointments the next week and a half. They both have eye appointments and dental appointments. I have a dentist appointment. They have haircuts. So it's going to be busy. Some are close to us, and some are in Lansing. DH got his booster today, so all four of us have ours now.

Judy great job with the Live Metabolic 300!

Carolyn great job with Push Pull. I always liked that workout a lot. Much more than the Supersets one in that set.

Diane Sue I'm glad your surgery is scheduled and hope it all comes together. It's really too bad that the whole process has been such a hassle, which only makes it worse. I'm not surprised you are so tired given how much your sleep has been impacted. Hopefully after next week all that will begin to improve ASAP.

I can’t remember….. thought I posted another time or two but my phone is not working right. Flying home tomorrow so will sort out the problem with our desktop system. We think our phone got hacked somehow because other phone and iPad are ok.
We kept bikes an extra day repeated some rides because they were so much fun. Did some walks with cousins since then and going back during daylight to the biological preserve. Not sure how much they look at plants but they bought a annual membership. Dh and I like learning plants and trees and bird and animal life in a new area. Not sure about cousins likes but it’s just for a couple hours.
good to know you got the surgery set up. That will be good to get some resolution and on road to healing.
still stunned by driving habits here. Dh and I are not slow or hesitant drivers but this is a completely crazy. Even when speeding people ….still can’t stay in a lane and zoom around cutting in and out It’s like a entire population of 18 yo boys with fast cars Trying to get in front .

This morning I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix workout one for 25 minutes and 184 calories burned. Average heart rate was 130 and maximum heart rate was 151. I went to the farmer’s market, The Fresh Market, and Sprouts after my workout. It’s a rainy day here, but I was able to get everything done before the heavy rain started.

Cathy, great job with Live Legit Legs. I like Push Pull better than Supersets, too.

Valerie, I hope there’s not a big problem with your phone. I know what you mean about the crazy driving. I see it here all the time which is one reason I avoid going on the larger highways as much as possible. I did that for years, but the drivers seem to be much more aggressive now.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue.

Dont know what is issue with my phone. otherphone works so we gotboarding passes all done here and ready to go in am Good time, but it is enough.

No workout today as I didn't sleep well. One of those fall asleep by 10, wake up before midnight nights. But, I gotta say Legit Legs is truly legit. Ouch! Pretty much got everywhere lower body except calves and it's hard for me to get them sore.

Valerie safe travels. Great that you were able to get in some additional rides!

Carolyn great job with Cardio Quick Fix!
