Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 10/28

This morning I did Ellen Barrett’s Power 15 from her 7 Day Challenge. It’s strength training with low weights, typical barre/pilates type training. I burned 88 calories, average heart rate was 123, and maximum heart rate was 161. After that I did JS Total Body Focus from the Boost Metabolism and Muscle dvd. That was 35 minutes and 192 calories burned. Average heart rate was 120 and maximum heart rate was 153. This one also uses low weights.

Judy, a 50 mile indoor ride is amazing! Is this a challenge that you signed up for? How long did it take? Congratulations on your accomplishment. I am thrilled if I make it to 45 minutes for my ride.

Diane Sue, great job with the Fit Split workouts. I need to look at those again. I like the strength workouts in the series more than cardio. I felt the same about many yoga instructor’s personalities and the conversation.

Lori, I’m glad that Linda Wooldridge is working out for you since SB seems to be having issues. You can’t beat a 99 cent download price.

Valerie, I try to include strength training, cardio, and flexibility workouts in my fitness plans. Yoga doesn’t happen every week, but I try to fit it in on a regular basis.

Deb, I hope Ike is okay today.

I did Coffey Fit Raw Cardio Overload #1, 32 minutes, average heart rate 126, max 153, met 5.9, 209 calories, 2,170 steps. I then did Step Boxing 2 workout 2 with the weight drills (3 move combos with a dumbbell) I used 12#, 31 minutes, heart rate average 138, max 167, met 5.8 198 calories, 2,601 steps. Odd that the times were close and the heart rates so different. I would have expected more calories out of step boxing by the heart rate and the met came out lower with that heart rate. I finished off with Sarah Beth Yoga from youtube, deep stretch yoga for Athletes yoga for flexibility and hips, 20 minutes, 44 calories, met 2.0. Total time was 83 minutes, calories burned 451 calories. I took the weight packs out of my weight vest so it was 12# this time for the overload workout.
I have an eye appointment in a few minutes.

Lori, those late nights can throw me off for a couple of days. I am sure the rest day was greatly needed. I don't see a reason why you couldn't use a dumbbell for the kettle bell segments. Kelly even suggests substituting a dumbbell in some others like the kettlebell and kickbox one. Your mother must have been an amazing woman to do all of that. It sounds like she did a wonderful job with children to raise by herself.
I bet Gigi is adorable in her costume.

Judy, great job on the 50 miles. I am always happy if I get 13 or 14 miles in on the spin bike once in awhile. Way to go! The yoga that I did today was one that had the stretches held longer. It really felt good through the hips. It really didn't have a flow to it, just more of a stretch workout I got 8 steps out of it ;) I got rid of a lot of yoga workouts, but still have some that I never have a desire to pull out. Yoga for Happiness is one of them. I have several by Shiva Rhea. I have sort of a like for part of them, but still not much desire to do them. I should go through them and get rid of them. Not sure where I would get rid of them at though.

Valerie, I do hate those home repair things that come up. I am still waiting on that guy to call back on the roof leak. It looks like I am going to have to pester him. Then we I ordered parts for our recently leaking toilet tank, hoping it should be an easy fix and need to target a faucet we put in with the remodel as one side drips so I cut the water off. I really do want the new series, but may have to buy the workouts ad funds come in since I never know what is going to happen to cost money around here next. Need tires on the Range Rover badly :( It is just life in general and I am sure I will get them eventually.
It is sad, but that there are so many families like that. It makes it so miserable for the children and instead of nurturing and teaching them what love is, it leads them to their own problems to fight. :(

Our bathroom repair might be like your sun room repair diane sue. think this is the home stretch, but we are stuck here while work is ongoing. we thought it was "done" before this. not wet outside today but still can't go anywhere. it was partially our fault for picking the wrong kind of floor but we picked it because the plumber thought it would work fine. it didn't. just a small leak but over time it is trouble. we are doing a tile floor this time, and the plumber has been here and gone. did not give us a break on it. those guys make as much as orthopedic surgeons.

I didn't expect "Ozzie and Harriet" but the "no talking" business for month after month was terrible. Not a good example for adult behavior. my sisters marriage failed long ago, and my brother is definitely a maladjusted angry person too so it doesn't stop with the parents.

I must be odd, I never found yoga loosened me up much although I liked it. after 10 yrs!

I re joined WW again last night. 3 months. I have read how all the weight loss programs, especially WW, are suffering because of free competition on line. the program is a little different than before but for $38 for 3 months, it is worth it to get back all the foods I had previously entered in the data base. will see how it works. the program looks a lot different and is called free style.

Valerie, the WW program is still the same in terms of smart points and the basic program. They are trying to focus more on wellness in addition to weight loss. Now you can earn reward points for behaviors like tracking, activity, or attending a “wellness workshop “ the new name for meetings The reward points can be redeemed for free “stuff”. It’s a nice incentive for those who have been struggling with making behavior changes. Freestyle is what it has been for the past year when they made many foods zero points, like beans.

Hi Everyone,

Today I did Yin Yoga and a Yoga Tune-Up for shoulders.

Deb-I hope Ike is better today. Poor little guy :(

Carolyn-It took a little over 3 hours for 50 miles on the spin bike. I belong to a Facebook Spinerval group that does challenges but this was on my own. My schedule usually doesn't work with theirs. They mostly do long rides on Saturday and Sunday.

Diane Sue-Great job with the workout and yoga today! My hips feel better after doing yoga today too.

Valerie-Yes, I don't want to do a ride like that again for a long time. I'm sorry about your family. My parents fought some too. My father had a family from a previous marriage and that definitely caused some issues.

Lori-I downloaded a workout from LW's site today, this one:
http://www.workoutdvdworld.com.au/w..._yoga_downloads/posture-improvement-download/ I've been having some shoulder issues and I thought this might help.

Have a great night!

Judy

Sorry, I did not finish. I happened to look at the time and headed out the door 1 minute past my appointment time. It is just up the street though and I was 4 minutes late. I am usually way early and probably could have got done early as the eye doctor and receptionist were just there alone chatting. He decided to dilate my eyes and do some check on the floater I have and something else, so I never got to Walmart and the HOA office(they were not there anyway). I don't like driving around after my eyes being dilated and am glad I live so close and had sunglasses in my car even though it is cloudy. I am just getting back enough vision to read again.

Deb, I hope that Ike gets better soon. Maybe just the change to a new home or something? That is such a hard thing when you don't know what the issue is.

Carolyn, I like the weight work on the Fit Split workouts. I am just not a real fan of the cardio and will probably just do them occasionally. Maybe if I were to do a rotation of it, but I don't see me doing a month or so of it. Yes, things they say and do on some of those yoga workouts. I have one that I would like better that is called fat burning yoga, if the instructor did not walk around the ones doing the workout and touch them and straddle them. Something about it bothers me. It is all 20 minute workouts that either include light weights or some things like mountain climbers tucked in between the yoga poses. Then there is Jillian Michaels that bugs when she calls the ladies sweetie and stuff and hovers around them. I do like her fast paced yoga meltdown and yoga inferno, but rarely do them anymore. I got the yoga inferno after having knee surgery thinking it would be a good option, only it really was not for quite some time.

Valerie, I think yoga definitely loosens up sore and tight areas, but it will never no matter how much I do it get me into the deep positions and twists that some of those instructors do. I don't even try anymore as I don't want to hurt myself and I would not call yoga fun. I think the only one close to fun was budokon and that was with a martial arts flare and flow to it. Yes, those plumbers, roofers, appliance people must make a lot. My husband was looking at the first roof quote we got that seemed really expensive last night and said that maybe we should have went with him instead of getting other quotes and maybe it would be fixed. We have rain in the forecast for tomorrow. Hopefully it is light. Then next week we are going to have a freeze. Hard to believe as we have had a couple of days of near 80 and beautiful weather. Nice after all of the rain we have had. We have some a couple of wood planks that are going to need to be replaced whenever we get this leak fixed. It isn't terrible, but where the water comes down in the corner of that room it is hard to catch because of the sliding glass door and I think some has run under the corner onto the flooring that has some bumps in it now.

Judy, I need to check out that link. I have been having some issues with my neck and shoulders. Crackling and the area hurts a lot. A bit better today though. I think last week I went too heavy on the shoulder work. I usually am more apt to go a bit lighter than heavier on shoulders. Funny, shoulders used to be an easy area for me to go heavy on. I need to check out your link. Thanks.

Good morning,

Ike is a lot better, he kept all his food down yesterday. I gave him boiled turkey & rice, and only have his amount. Hopefully, we are past this, whatever it was.

Valerie, that sounds horrible, for kids to be in that environment and it went on for so long. I should take a look at the WW online program for John and me. I need some real structure. It seems like I can no longer do it on my own like I used to.

Carolyn, nice combination of workouts!

Diane Sue, it is time that you get a break from all the repair work! It has to be soon. I hope the roof guy responds but he isn't the one that did the original work right? There is always Small Claims Court as a last resort if he doesn't fix the problem.

Judy, that ride was amazing, but I can see why you would only do one a year! I did get the pillow for knees/hip, tried it out but found that it actually made my leg ache more. I am returning it today. Thank you Amazon Prime!

Hi to Lori,

I have PT this morning, not sure what is going to go on with that. I have been lax on doing the exercises at home, with the floor situation and now the puppy.

Take care,

Bummer, Deb, too bad the pillow didn't help. worth a try. many people benefit from leg support. no complaints about Prime. so easy to buy and return things. Good news on the puppy. I've never had one. I had one dog and got him as an adult.

I didn't understand when I was a kid how toxic our home life was. You think your life is "normal". For sure... a lot of kids have it much worse, but parents who hated each other and could not work together was not good.

the WW program is different from my last time. I last joined when they were changing everything and never got fully on board although I lost a few pounds.
the WW app works better and tracking seems simpler. tracking makes you accountable. I am up 3 lbs from when I stopped using it last time, so most of the principles stick with me. lot of foods are "free" and zero points so there is less typing, especially after you enter things you have often.
My DH is kind of /sort of doing this with me. we both have issues with weight gain in late fall/ winter when outdoor exercise gets less. he is not formally entered in the program, but cooking things that are WW friendly puts him on the program like it or not. he snacks, eats constantly. usually not total junk but calorie dense things like pistachios and raisins. Men usually lose weight so easily and get more calories to play with so I hope it isn't discouraging.

Carolyn I am happy to see a lot of foods that were not WW friendly are now free. many of my vegetarian meals using beans and tofu used to be high points. they will be fewer points now but I have not gone in and recalculated, will do that one meal at a time. How long have you been a member?

I didn’t get a workout in this morning before I needed to go out for WW. I stayed up later than usual last night and didn’t feel like getting up earlier today.

Valerie, I started WW this last time in November 2015, but I originally joined and made lifetime in 1988. It took 1 1/2 years to get back to goal weight this last time. I continue to go to the meetings for the support from my wonderful group. Meetings are free as long as I am within 2 pounds of my goal weight. The tracking is very easy with the app and it definitely makes a big difference to success. It helps me be more aware of what I eat.

Hello to everyone and have a wonderful afternoon.

I did my workout early this morning so that I could get out and do errands before all of the people that head out around lunch time are crowding into places, like the post office.
So, I started with Raw Just Step to warm up well, 24 minutes, heart rate average 134, max 157, 2,262 steps, met 5.8, 154 calories. I then did Raw Hips and Glutes doing 4 sets of the knee pulls where the workout stops when her camera battery went out, 35 minutes, 162 calories, heart rate 102 average, 134 ,max, met 4.2. I finished off with Barre Amped Ball Stretch from Suzanne Bowen that is 6.5 minutes, 16 calories . I knew I needed some sort of stretch, since the end of the workout was cut short, even if I was short on time. Total time was 65 minutes, 332 calories.
Weights 30 work with 10 seconds rest 4 sets per each exercise but one Barbell or Dumbbells can be used
Squats, 60# 9, 10,11,11 reps
Barbell Bridges using bench for shoulders 40# 11,11,11,11 reps
Deadlifts 60# barbell 1 set regular deadlifts 6 reps, 3 sets wider stance deadlift squat up 60# 7,6,6, dropped to 40# 6 reps
I wore 5# ankle weights for the next few moves
pizza pusher 4 sets using bench to lean on with hands 12 reps right and left, 13 reps right and left
hydrant 4 sets 12 right, 12 left, 13 right , 13 left
alternating straight lateral leg raise 12,16,14,14 reps
alternating pizza pusher 5 sets 8,12,12,10,10 reps
seated knee ins Still wearing 5# ankle weights 3 sets 16,16,14, took off weights 16 I almost fell off the step backwards here without the weights I felt so light LOL
Plank Knee pulls put on 3# ankle weights after the first set 12,16,16,16 reps
I like that she doesn't have you kneeling on the floor to do these exercises. Much better IMO

I got my new Whole 30 Slow Cooker cookbook that has directions for both slow cooker and Instant Pot on some recipes and a whole Instant Pot section. I am loving my instant pot. I use it a lot :) Amazon had such a good price on it and I had some money available in my account. I got the actual cookbook this time just like I did the Fast and Easy Whole 30. I picked up some veggies and things to make some of the recipes. I am loving grilled brussels sprouts lately. Since Sprouts did not have bok choy for the Grilled peppered Tuna recipe with the lime garlic drizzle I used brussels sprouts and it is so good.

Deb, I still remember having two pups at one time that got sick, Mudd and Puddle, close in age. It was terrible. We had a large metal crate with a partition so they were separated on which side that they were in. They were both having loose stools. I woke up in the middle of the night with whining and howling and it was awful getting them outside and cleaning that crate up. Fortunately the bottom slid out so I was able to get it out and hose it. I won't go into all of the gross details and they both needed a bath. I was thinking today when I bought two turkey breasts for Thanksgiving dinner, that I should buy a small whole turkey to roast so I could use the dark meat for Gertie. After all of our talk I have been giving her more meat when I cook meals. So, far she is okay with beef and pork as well as chicken and turkey. I even gave her a bit of my tuna steak the other night. I wonder if it is partly the parts of the animals that they use and other ingredients in the dog foods that upset the stomach. I know they are not as caring/careful as they have to be with human food. The guy that did the original work is the one that has to respond. The roofer was sent by him and he said he was going to recommend to him that he put up more flashing along the open area and seal it. But, the original guy has not called or anything yet. Right now it is raining and my roof is leaking into buckets and tubs.

Valerie, it is sad, but most children that grow up in a family with problems accept that as normal. I wish my husband would have found his car part on prime, I had to take it to the post office as it is the wrong color, today. With Prime I can usually print my label and go around the corner to UPS and drop it off, no problem.

Carolyn, my sister in law did some weight loss nutrition program at one time when she lived in Oklahoma. It didn't work so well for her though. She lost a little and then she started eating what she wanted and then just before weigh in she would try to get her weight back down to at least where it was the time before. She finally gave it up. It would seem having others to encourage each other in a group would be very helpful.

Ran on treadmill for 35 min. then core 1 from ICE. I actually ran uphill for 10 min, walked uphill for 5, then ran uphill for another 15 . I haven't done that in a long time and it felt surprisingly OK. heart rate higher than I expected, but not too high.

yes, that's so nice with Prime, no standing in line at the PO or UPS, just print label and drop off package. it makes up for not seeing the item in person.

Carolyn, after you reach goal and maintain, you get to continue without the monthly dues, right? its another incentive to reach goal. I never made it. maybe this time. I am not near any meeting group that would work, but I did attend meetings a long time ago before there was anything online. back in days of required liver.

back when our parents had us, birth control was iffy. I always wondered why people who don't like children have them anyway. my father did not like kids. he really didn't want to be a parent and should not have been one.

Valerie, once you reach your goal weight and maintain it for 6 weeks (within 2 pounds) you earn lifetime status. Meetings and etools are free as long as you are within that range.

Good morning,

Only PT exercises and I went to the PT session as well.

Valerie, good job on the treadmill! that is why I continue with Prime, besides the TV shows, I like the shipping/return policy.

Carolyn, that is good that you actually go to a WW meeting, I would think that the in-person support really helps. When you say you get free lifetime status, does that mean continually from when you meet your goal, or also if you take a break, and have gained weight back? Do you get to start over for free?

Diane Sue, That is awful about that leak and the weather is sure not cooperating at all! :( I took a look at the Whole 30 Slow Cooker cookbook on Amazon, then requested it from our library to look closer. I like the mention that it is more than just soups and stews, which is usually what a slow cooker cookbook is made up of. The more I read about what they put into kibble, makes me want to stay away from it. Unfortunately, the breeder had Ike on adult kibble, ( I found that strange) so I slowly switched him to a puppy kibble, for the added calcium and calories, but will soon switch him to the homemade food I feed to Kylee.

Hi to Judy & Lori,

Take care,

Good Morning,
Today I did Step Boxing 2, workout two, for 26 minutes and 204 calories burned. Average heart rate was 134 and maximum heart rate was 149. After that I did Ellen Barrett’s Core Yoga which was 30 minutes and 75 calories burned. My average heart rate with that was 98 and maximum heart rate was 112.

Deb, great job with PT exercises and going to your session. When I was over my WW goal weight I had to pay for meetings, but I was still lifetime. I never had to pay a registration fee and once I was back to the two pound range of my goal weight I was eligible for free meetings. I was provided with a code to enter on the site to show that I did not need to pay. WW sends a reminder email that my subscription will expire every 8 weeks and I get a new code from the meeting to enter on the site.

Diane Sue, Raw Hips and Glutes looks like a tough workout with the weight used in the floor exercises. Great job! One problem that some people have with weight loss is looking for a short term solution to a long term problem. The “diet” mentality doesn’t work if you go back to doing and eating the same things that you did before the diet.

Hello to Judy, Lori, and Valerie.

pleased... not sore from the run. I had trouble with my knee for a while, wasn't sure I could do it without some soreness. I don't plan on it often, too many other options without the impact. we've done a lot of hiking. I got used to some impact gradually.

Deb I would think feeding both dogs the same thing would be the way to go. how can you feed different things and not have them eating from each others bowl anyway?
I don't think DH could live without Prime. he never was a shopper but now he gets something sent out because its so painless.

I decided to go ahead and order the new LITE series. I got the yoga relax disk too. Both of us work well with Cathe. Carolyn, you have said good things about YogaRelax so it's on the way. DH has a birthday in 2 weeks. I also got him a pair of mt bike shorts and separate pair of padded underwear. he can wear them with any shorts, or tights. he spins a lot in winter, wears padded shorts. I don't wear padding for spinning. doesn't help much, pad gets caught on the nose of the saddle. mens mt bike shorts are hard to fit right. long. some come with attached liners, some separate. this pair was a 9 inch inseam.

I read recently that WW meeting attendance has dropped. locally, no good time or location for me. more people are happy with online programs, and WW online is nice..

ETA Carolyn you are so right. I had a best friend ( teenager) who was constantly on a restrictive diet, always saying that after she lost however many pounds, she could go back to "eating normal". so obvious that "eating normal" was the problem. That is a good system and incentive to reach goal and stay close.

I was concerned that my pg niece has gained too much weight already and has 3 months to go. she exercises and is fit, but has to fight to keep weight and appetite under control. I've never been pg but she ate everything in sight. we were telling her she had "hyperphagia" like a bear going into hibernation. she is setting herself up for a long struggle after delivery.

This morning I did Kelly Coffey Cardio Sculpt Fitness mix no weights, cardio and abs, 41 minutes, 267 calories, met 5.9, average heart rate 129, max 172, 3,018 steps. I then did Coffey Fit Raw Upper Body, 30 minutes, 142 calories, met 4.3, 142 calories, heart rate average 105, max 139, 549 steps. I finished off with Les Mills Flow, 21 minutes, met 2.0, 46 calories.
Raw Upper weights - can be done slower and heavier if wanted, Kelly goes a bit lighter as a strength and endurance workout. There is not much for rests. Each exercise is done 4 times and it is 30 sec work 10 sec rest. Bench or step is needed. Kelly uses what I think is a 22 # barbell (maybe 25) and hand weights up to 15#.
Bench Press Barbell (rather quick paced) 40# 21 reps, 35# 22 reps, 24 reps, 23 reps Kelly moves from barbell to 12# the 10# dbs)
Shoulder press seated barbell 1st set 30# 10 reps, 12# dbs 10,8,9 reps
flys 15# dbs 10,10,10,11 reps (Kelly moves from barbell to 12# then 10# dbs))
lateral raise 12# dbs 10 reps, 10# dbs 10,13,11 reps
skate and curl 10# dbs (I tried 12 and too heavy for this and Kelly says you can just stand and do the curls if you want) 11,14,16,15 reps
hammer squat curl up (Kelly does a hop on the up and says you don't have to) 12# dbs 8,8,7,8 reps
barbell rows 40# 14,15,15,13 reps
dips 18,16,16,17 reps
seated reverse fly 12# dbs same as Kelly 10,12,12,11 reps
seated scull crusher 12# dbs 10 rep, 15# dbs 9,10,9 reps
Abs seated on step knee pulls 11,15,15,12 reps

Trying to get things done today as the original repair person is having his guys come out and do what his roofer he sent out suggested. Odd they always show up around noon or so and he said noon. I need to make another trip to the post office in the morning.

Deb I have a recipe I intend to try tonight. I have made things like baked potatoes and roasts along with hot dogs in the slow cooker. Once we had a really old stove in a rental house that the oven did not work and one gas burner. I learned to use a slow cooker for a lot of things. Amazing what you can do with one.
That is weird that they started a pup out on adult kibble. It will probably just take you a bit to help Ike to adjust to new food. I moved my buckets thinking it was done raining and it started right when I got up this morning and I heard it hitting the towel that I had left on the floor. I quickly set the buckets back out. It has to be totes and things that can fit flat up to the walls. Sun came out this afternoon though. Tomorrow will be nice out. Hopefully this next work done will fix the problem.

Carolyn, I keep trying to explain to others that it is not a diet plan and has to be a nutrition plan to keep. So many people only start because they get worried about health problems or suddenly realize that they are heavier than they have ever been, only to go back to eating like they were before. Hips and Glutes is much tougher than it looked :)

Valerie, I think that everyone is different when PG. When I had my first child I ate everything and lots of it. I went to Taco Bell and 31 flavors for licorice ice cream almost daily. I remember eating a whole pan of corn bread with lots of butter along with pickles. I just had a horrendous appetite. Funny thing was after I had my son I lost more weight than ever. I dropped to my all time low by the time he was 6 months at 98 lbs. Not enough weight at all. I still ate though. It took awhile to put some of it back on. I looked pathetic to be quite honest. I felt ill a lot. The other two, I was a bit more careful. Particularly the last one when I made most stuff from scratch, including my bread and used whole grains and we had a dairy deliver. I have a gel seat cover on my spin bike after doing an hour and a half on it once and rubbing the skin off the inside of my legs. It does slip a bit and every once in awhile I have to tighten it up.

I did the chiseled Lower Body (or whatever its called) from ICE. I watched it while on the treadmill yesterday, stuck disk in and did the 40 min premix without jacks. I am not planning on doing jacks, or maybe the less impact version. I started getting a little sore from the run yesterday as it got late today, so decided I would get back into the game and do all the squats and lunges. I didn't do much weight with this one, I will probably get sore enough without. I wanted to get some DOMS but not anything that will keep me from working out for days.
diane sue, licorice ice cream! oh that is awful. I hate licorice more than anything in the world. awful awful horrible flavor and smell. one of those real, definitive things that you either LOVE or HATE. Niece has always struggled with her weight. she has a "junk in the trunk" shape to begin with. She and her DH ate a lot of food..... I was stunned at how fast the lasagna disappeared. I hope the eating urge drops off after she delivers. she is an active outdoor person and it will be hard to adjust if she gains a lot. she is not ridiculous, but 25 lbs at 6 months is all she was supposed to gain in total 9 mon, so I hope she levels off soon. she has a craving for the most ridiculous things. like gummy worms? I thought these were right up there with licorice.

our bathroom tile is finished. DH and I will finish putting the few floor tiles back but giving it more time to be sure its dry. it was a definite leak but a small one that we caught in time. we get measured for a new shower door Monday and then finally back to normal when its installed.

Good morning,

It has rained for 2 days straight here, the streets are getting flooded and my yard is a swamp of mud and leaves! It makes it very difficult taking a puppy out in this every hour or so.

Carolyn, good workouts! . That is nice that they let you back into WW without a registration fee if when you left you had made your goal.

Valerie, with a puppy, and a second dog, you have to feed them separately. I always feed the puppy in his crate, and Kylee in her normal spot in the kitchen. This way he concentrates on eating, not on everything around him. He would definitely interfere with her if he was loose around where she was eating. This is the most "food driven" puppy we have ever had. He seems to always be hungry. I think the new LITE series will be even better than ICE. It has some great premixes and bonus workouts. Did you order it with the bonus Pyramid DVD? I have subbed the low impact jacks for years now and do not regret it. I feel like I get just as much from them without the impact. Did you replace the whole floor or just a few tiles where there was a problem?

Diane Sue, I am not sure why the breeder did that with the adult food. When we got Kylee from them, she was definitely on puppy food, and we just continued with the same one until we switched her to what Keegan had to eat. I sure hope those repair guys are able to fix the problem.

Hi to Judy & Lori,

Take care,

Hi Everyone,

Wednesday I did 4 DS Legs & Core, then later I did the LW Posture Improvement download. It was like a physical therapy session for shoulders and I really liked it. I will try doing it once or twice a week and see if I can resolve my shoulder issue on my own. Yesterday I did a new LW workout, Tone, Chisel & Sculpt. That was a good one too. It was mostly body weight and floor work with a light dumbbell section.

Deb-It has rained non stop for the past 2 days here too. Very depressing. I bet it is difficult taking your puppy outside so often in this. I agree about LITE. I think it will be even better than ICE.

Valerie-Great job with the treadmill run and ICE workout!

Diane Sue-You should try the LW download. My shoulder felt better after I did it just once.

Carolyn-Great workouts this week!

Hi to Lori!

It has rained here all week, since sunday. plus, the little time it wasn't raining, we had to be here for the contractor.
Deb, the shower pan ( floor) did not slant enough to drain. water pooled slightly near the door. it was enough to cause a small leak over a long time. we thought it was the shower door itself. did a less expensive fix 2 yrs ago. not enough, the leak continued. we bit the bullet, got pan removed along with the ceramic tile near it, replaced it with different shower floor of grouted 2 inch tile. it is a better fit with a steeper angle. we are changing the shower door from a slider to a swing door, and a built up 2 inch edge at the door. Leak eventually could have caused serious damage but luckily, I noticed the slight bulge in the floor tile both times. (I'm not getting any credit for noticing, which is why I keep mentioning it) It cost a few $$$ to get this fixed. would have cost more if it had gone on.
As I'm sure diane sue will agree, water leak problems are nasty and hard to track down and fix because water will find a way.
Our experience with pets is they eat food put out for the other, like they're missing out on something. our kitty was well fed and still snuck into a neighbors house thru the cat door and ate their cats food. our dog ate our cats food. and so on. we never did crates though.

I haven't done older Cathe workouts much. some are too intense with too much impact. I miss the menu and premixes the new ones have. I've used ICE a lot so decided more choices won't hurt. I've done metabolic total body so much I'm getting tired of it. this time of year I use DVD's a lot. I got sore from the lower body one yesterday. hiking and riding are great exercise but different and will have 6 months where we can't do either reliably. I like the treadmill and elliptical but no reliable TV stations in the exercise room limits them.

Judy, can you remind me again who LW is? a DVD is a lot less expensive than physical therapy. my rt shoulder is still bothersome some times.
