Peeps in the House - Tuesday

Cathlete
Morning all. We're down a car this morning, so DH is driving me to work. He'll pick me up this afternoon and we'll do a complicated Changing of the Autos to get me home, his mom to the hairdresser and him back to work with a car to get home in later on. Hopefully, I'll have time for PUB.

Michele, I saw your FIL went back to surgery. I'm still praying. Hugs to everyone.

Catherine, how are the pups doing? Is it Muffie who has health issues?

LaDonna, one of my best friends just had her greyhound put down due to bone cancer. She saw an Italian greyhound the other day and got all teary. I think she's going to be looking for another.

ellie, a baby at 40?!?!? Oy! I get tired just thinking about it.

Wendy, yeah, your job sounds cool. Do you get to meet famous people? DH and I are Steeler fans. He grew up near Pittsburgh. And we both went to Penn State, so Go, Lions, Go! Sorry about last weekend.

Dani, your list of favorite food made me hungry!

Kel, sorry to see you are still out of work. Are you enjoying the time off? It doesn't look like our work stress will be over for at least two more weeks, when we will, hopefully, be fully staffed again.

Liann, LOL at your list of family members. What's going on with your back-to-school plans?

JJ, my DD loves Dave Matthews. She has a DMB sticker on her car. DH keeps asking her why she labeled her car "dumb."

Vilma, I think you are the only one who lived in another country. I work with a retired air forcer.

Judy, I see that the stray became a family member. LOL.

Heather, my kitchen is waiting....

Beth, what's going on with your fitness job?

Crissy, so do you have a muscle car?

Karin, hey, a fellow scientist!

I'm out of time and headed for work. See you all later.

Good Morning Robin & All who follow.

Today I have a 40-60 TM run not sure which yet.

Robin I hear you on the car issue. My oldest took my car and ended up in a ditch a little over two weeks ago and although she was fine my car was not and suffered over 5 thousand in damages seriously and I am dealing with a rental I can not stand. I 'm hoping to get my car back from the bodyshop this Wednesday.

It really is an inconvenience. Ah so is life

Here's hoping you can get your UB work in.

I hope to BBL for more personals but at the moment I'm playing with time and shouldn't even be online lol

Have a Great Day and Hellos to all who follow! :)

I'm back. I have a question for Heather. WHat is Zumba like? Do you love it? I am going to go try a class out after I am done with my half-marathon. It looks like so much fun.

Posted, lost it

Happy Tuesday!!!

Robin, sorry to hear about your car issues :( Have fun with PUB. Muffie is doing well with her bladder cancer. She's defying the odds a bit as she shouldn't still be here. :):):)

Hi to Vilma, Runnergirl and all who follow. Have a great day :D

Morning all! I'm up at the crack of dawn for a client meeting. What's this I hear about Michele's FIL? More info please?

Enjoy the run, Runnergirl. Hope it's not too cold for you out there. They say it's going down into the 40s here today and I just heard the heat come up! Shywolf, guess you don't have to worry about the weather.

Hope all works out with the car arrangements, Robin, and you get a WO in.

I'm at the bottom of my coffee pot and still waiting to wake up.

Good morning, Peeps,
Today I did a standing leg workout and then a 20 minute BFL style treadmill run. No subbing calls today.:(It gets discouraging because I need to work, but subbing is so unpredictable. I only have one half day lined up this week, but next week I have three full days.

Robin: I am still teaching Piyo, but I switched to a night class. I also am doing a one time only Butts and Guts class this month for a gym group exercise promo. It sounds like you have a very busy day ahead of you. Yikes!

Hi Vilma! I hope you enjoyed your TM run.

Runnergirl: They have Zumba at the gym where I teach. I also used to have the tapes a while ago. It's a blast.

Catherine-Muffie is amazing. I am glad she is defying the odds.

Nancy-It's cold here too! Enjoy your day.

Sending Nancy another pot!!! Hopes she gets it :p

Beth, how frustrating about the subbing :( I hope it picks up for ya soon.

I am at work now, and I guess I should get cracking:cool:

Part 1

Jeepers Creepers Peepers,

I am having a yucky week. Have a horrible head cold but have to go to a meeting at school this am. Have to bring 4 yr old too because I have no sitter. The meeting is for the room moms and I am one of them. Both of my boys have ocular albinism (albino of the eyes) and my 7 yr old also has it of the skin (mild). So they are both legally blind. They wear contact lenses and large coke bottle glasses. They CAN see, just not very well.

Anyway, I am always chosen as head room mom so activities and things can be modified for them. Like, we don't play pin the tail on the donkey. DUH. No need for a blindfold here, just take their glasses off!!!! And we NEVER EVER have a pinanta that you hit with a stick, My husband got a free vasectomy this way!!!! Look, you gotta have a sense of humor or you'll go crazy!!!! :D:DTRUST ME on this :eek::eek::eek:

So as crappy as I feel (and believe me it's ugly) I have to go at 9:30. And our principal is a nun and she likes to hear herself talk, so it could go on and on and on........ I really just want to go back to bed,

I am hoping to feel better soon because I was on such a roll and I'm going to see Cathe on the 20th!! Yikes!!!! Last time she wiped the floor with me.
I just need a little encouragement to get right back on track when this cold passes so I don't lose my mojo!!!

I hope everyone has a great day. Hi to all who follow and I'll be back for part 2 later. (Hey, you guys said I could join this group!!:D:D:D) Bet you didn't know what you were getting into?!?!

GM ladies! Let's see, last night I did Ben&Jerry Max and Pizza Max. I fully blame my DH who brought it all home. While we ate that junk, we watch Football (Vikings vs. Saints) on TV. My DH has never been into Football, but he's sick of not knowing what everyone is talking about (my dad etc.) so he has been making us watch pretty much every game that comes on now. So we have been camping out on Sunday and Monday nights and watching the games and then quizzing each other afterwards about who the quarterbacks were and the big plays. I grew up watching FB with my dad, so it's not too painful.

Robin - My Purdue letter is sitting on my desk upstairs mocking me. I need to call the college and tell them to mark my application for future consideration while I finish my prerequ. Chem class. :( I haven't looked into where to take that class yet and I suppose I had better start if I want to take it in the Spring. I wish I was more optimistic about it all, but I was really hoping to start the actual program in the Spring and now I have to wait until next Fall which seems sooooo far away.

Quick note.

My DH and I went to see Stevie Wonder in AC last year. His daughter walked him onstage and Stevie welcomed everyone. He went on to say that he had not performed for 3 years because his mother had passed away and he was heartbroken. He said she was the reason that he is who he is today. She never let anyone treat him any differently etc. Well DH and I were sitting pretty close to him and we were sobbing. Stevie asked his daughter to ask us what was wrong. We barely got the words out and said we wished we would have brought our kids age 3 and 6 at the time. He said next time, he'll reserve seats right up front for us. Needless to say, I barely heard the concert for all the tears And next tour We are going!!!! :D:D:D:D

Nancy, Michele's FIL has been hospitalized for quite a while now. I think he's had one toe amputated. I saw a post from her yesterday that said he going back to surgery and having another one amputated. She had to cancel a trip to Italy to stay home and help.

Beth, I subbed briefly when we first got married and lived in a very small school district. I always thought a day without an early morning phone call was a good one.

Catherine, I'm glad to hear Muffie is holding her own.

Liann, LOL at Diet Max last night. Chemistry - Yuck!

ellie, my son has Prader-Willi syndrome. My DGS has CP and is developmentally delayed. Life goes on, though, doesn't it...

LaDonna, have fun running. 3 miles ought to be a piece of cake for you.

The co-worker who called in sick yesterday is here today. She left her voice at home, but that's OK.

First of all, can I just tell you how much fun I'm having getting to know each of you? I have a football confernce call in fifteen minutes, so I'll type really fast and check back in later.

From the thread yesterday--Breck Girl, I think I have photos of my Russian Blue babies somewhere on my computer...I'll see if I can find some to send you. I do have one of my male RB with my DD sitting on top of him..he's not very amused, as you can imagine!! LOL!

Also, someone asked where I lived and yes, I'm in Dallas. Love living here. :)

I did SuperSets upper body workout this morning. My mind said, "Boot Camp" but my body screamed back "Are you kidding me? Not today!" LOL!

Robin: Ugh, car issues are so frustrating!!!!! No worries about Penn State--you guys kicked our Boilermaker butts square and fair. Go Big TEN!!

LaDonna & Vilma--Hope you ladies had good runs today.

Ellie: I just love reading your posts. Your sense of humor really just shines right though, and like you said, that is what gives you the grace to handle the storms in life. Also, what an incredible story about Stevie Wonder! That will be so fantastic for your children to go to!!

Catherine: Like Beth said, glad Muffie is defying the odds with her cancer.

Nancy: Did you go to pot of coffee number two yet? LOL!

Beth--I'm keeping my fingers crossed you'll get a sub call tomorrow. :)

Liann--Fall will not seem far away when you are immersed in Chemistry this spring. Are you going to take the class at the local community college? Back in the day, I took all my sciences at cc and transferred the credits to Purdue...

OK, ten minutes until call now...will be back later!!

HI Peeps!

Ellie- I am sending you a ((( BIG HUG!)))

Robin- ouchie on the car issues. Yes, Waldo did move in and he adopted me as his mother. He is amazingly smart and super affectionate.

Catherine- I hope you pet is not in much pain

I posted a recipe for Spinach Alfredo Lasagna on the Cheetahs check in (page 2 ) in if anyone is interested. It is fairly healthy but it does have real Parmesan cheese in it for good flavor. I like to develop recipes when the weather gets colder, sometimes they turn out good and I share.

Today's workout was a 3 mile tempo run on the TM and Back & Chest from 4DS.

Hey there Peeps!

This morning, I did BBC Legs and non-treadmill cardio. I also added on a Lotte Berke abs & stretch segment. I got up early but now I'm running a bit late as I still need to eat breakfast, run out to the store & try to be back in time to fix DH some lunch, & do some pressure washing too. Like I said in another post, this kind of work is much more difficult & exhausting than what I was paid to do. But at least I'm staying busy...

Robin - I guess that (^^^) answers your question about my time off. Sorry to hear about your car troubles & I hope you get them resolved soon. Hope you enjoy PUB. That's always been one of my faves.

Vilma - Sorry to hear about your car troubles too & I hope you get it back soon. Glad to hear your oldest is okay, though. Enjoy your TM run!

LaDonna - Hope you enjoy your run too. I'd also like to hear what you think of you Zumba class when you take it...

Catherine - I'm glad to hear about Muffie. I know how difficult that is. Hope you have a good day at work.

Nancy - Hope you found another pot of coffee & I hope your client meeting goes well today.

Beth - Sorry to hear about the lack of subbing work this week but I'm glad you have more lined up for next week. Job prospects have completely dropped off around here but that's pretty typical for the fall. Hopefully things will pick back up in the spring.

Ellie - I am in awe of all you do with your children & I loved your Stevie Wonder story too. Hope your cold gets better soon...

Liann - Ooh! I want to do the workout you did last night! So what kind of Ben & Jerry's was it? Thanks for the update about Purdue. Going back to school is definitely something I'm starting to consider at this point too.

Wendy - I've enjoyed getting to know everyone too. I know what you mean about BC as it has somewhat of a dread factor for me too... both BC's, actually.

Judy - Thanks for the heads-up on the recipe. It sounds yummy. Enjoy 4DS Chest & Back. I'm still loving that series & have to keep myself from doing it every week.

Wow, I did pretty darn good with personals today so I guess that's it for now. I better get going if I plan to get anything done today. Hi to everyone else who follows & I'll try to check back in later.

Take care everyone,

Kel

Morning Peeps~

Wow..I'm sore today after my run outside yesterday:confused: I've been running mostly on the TM so this was my first time outside in awhile. Why does it seem so much harder running outside vs on the TM?! I guess I don't have a belt pushing me along:eek:

Robin~ I forgot to ask how your Octoberfest fun went. I love german beer and plan to hit our local Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter for their outdoor celebration. They have this one game where you pound nails into a large section of a tree trunk. Sounds easy until you've slammed down a few beers:eek:

Liann~ No worries about your B&J/Pizzamax food. I had gummy bear max last night and its all good. Ouch...chemistry. DD had that last year in HS and it was tough! I see the Vikes won..I'm from MN but didn't even watch the game!

LaDonna~ Enjoy your run and good luck for your HM.

Ellie~ Hope you feel better soon. I always wished my mom would be a "room mother" when I was in grade school but she worked fulltime. Your boys are very lucky!

Vilma~ How have you been? Haven't seen you over at CC land but I've been kinda MIA there too:eek:

Nancy~ Have a good meeting and enjoy your coffee!

Catherine~ {{{hugs}}} to Muffie. I got a question for the pullup queen....I have a hard time doing them unassisted without taking a quick break in between each rep. Is that cheating too much? Is it better to do them unassisted with quick breaks or continious with chair assist? They are so darn hard!

Well, I better get moving. Still trying decide between PUB or a round of S&H today.

Waves Hi to everyone else! BBL;)

Part 2

I was pregnant with my second son when I noticed that my 2 year old was having trouble seeing things. The pediatrician told me I was crazy (10 years in Peds and 10 in ER, I think I know a little bit). Anyway, I took him to an opthamologist who made the diagnosis. Long story short, she asked me my family history. I am blonde haired, blued eyed like my father. My mother and sisters are darker haired with blue eyes. But my father, me and my son have VERY blue eyes and VERY light hair. My father was swedish (his mother came over not long before my father was born) and my mother is Irish.
In the meantime I gave birth to secon son and they immediately checked his eyes and BINGO he had it too. My father died 2 months later

I was sent to an adult opthamologist who asked for pictures of my father. He took one look and said. "Didn't you know your father was an albino??" I said NO, I just thought he was SWEDISH!!! When they checked my eyes, they found characteristics of the disease. Meaning my father was albino,I am a carrier on the X linked gene thereby passing it on to all male children. Yup, I had 2 boys.

So now, I am fascinated with genetics. If I had the time, I would go back to school to study genetics. It's amazing how much info there is, once we identify a gene.

I hope everyone is having a great day, I'll be back for chapter 3. Hopefully I'm not boring everyone to tears :eek::eek:

Morning peeps!

Haven't been around for a bit. Sorry about that. It's PMS week for me and those who know me know that means evil things.

Elliemom - I hope you're not offended, but this statement made me HOWL!!! "He took one look and said. "Didn't you know your father was an albino??" I said NO, I just thought he was SWEDISH!!!"

I can't possibly catch up with personals! Just wanted to say hello and I'll try to keep up better!

Bored? No! This is fascinating--and again, I really, really like how you inject humor into your situation. Your boys are very lucky to have a mommy like you. :)

JJ

JJ, I would do a bit of both actually and work on decreasing the rest time between reps. I actually stink at pullups- chinups are much easier for me. Keep working at it ;)
