Good morning, girls :)

Laura :: Glad that horrid kidney test is out of the way finally…Yikes on the rough seas, but it sounds like you enjoyed the fishing trip overall…I have been watching Shark Week on the Discovery Channel and have no desire to be on the ocean right now! *lol*

Nancy :: Yes, Wendy is in Myrtle Beach…I just realized you may think I’m a new member – I used to post under the name seeking_guns but re-registered while you were away. I’d been wanting to change it for a while. The possible association with weapons made me a little uncomfortable…I almost always pack a lunch, too.

Angie :: my goal with this rotation is really just fat loss and seeing some lower body changes…I don’t really have any specific running goals right now but have increased my mileage a little bit. I don’t think I’ve ever had a root beer float.

Today is PLB and a run – might split ‘em up. Not sure yet. But I do want to get out there early again.

Good morning girlz:)

I woke up at 8:30 this morning which is early for me.:eek: I think I have all this stuff running thru my mind of all the stuff I have to get done today. It's still hot and humid so even though I feel like I really need to get at it, I just don't want to start the laundry in this heat. There's supposed to be a cold front coming thru today so hopefully that will hit soon. We'll go from 90's to 80's. I'll take it! DH wants to be otta here at noon tomorrow - I told him it would depend on how much I got done today.

Has anyone else really noticed the increased prices at the grocery store??}( :eek: I went shopping last night and bought mostly sale priced items and walked out with a cart full of groceries and $80 poorer.:eek: Geez - and I usually go to the grocery store once or twice per week. I do like the fact that there's tons of fresh fruits and veges in right now. The early planters are harvesting right now, so I'm also getting goodies from family members with green thumbs.:) Hopefully we'll be getting some corn in a week or two. Also next week, we're going to go blueberry picking.:7 :) Mmmmmmmmm - love to eat blueberries right out of the bowl. I'm gonna get lots and freeze them. If we pick them, they are only about $1 per pound.

Cathy - I have been watching snippits of the shark episodes too. It would make me a bit weary of going in the water.
I hear you about the lower body changes. I carry my weight between my belly button and my mid thigh.:-( No matter how much weight I lose, I don't think I'll ever be happy with that area. My buns are sore this morning b/c of PLB and I didn't even use the same amount of weight Cathe does. :7
Never tried a root beer float???:eek: You'll have to break down and give one a try. Super easy to make and really not too bad of a snack if you buy the low cal and low sugar vanilla ice cream with diet root beer. We don't indulge very often, b/c I rarely buy ice cream, but it was on sale and it was so darned hot that I needed a nice cold treat.

I'll check back with you other girls later to see what's up with you all. I'm missin Wendy! She'll be back tomorrow right?

Hey Diana - you wouldn't happen to remember where you found that link to the Cathe/P90X hybrid routine do you? I thought I printed that off, but I can't find it anywhere.....
Don't sweat it if you can't remember, I'll just go back and find it in the posts b/c if I remember correctly you posted it maybe a week or so ago.

I didn't work out this morning but have no worries, I will be hitting the gym at lunch and have bootcamp tonight.

Cathy-you've never had a rootbeer float?? You absolutely need to give this a try. Angie gave a good low fat, low cal rootbeer float recipe.

Angie-it sounds like you and the family are camping again this weekend. Hope you have a great time. Speaking of grocery shopping, I just spent $380 bucks at costco last night, yikes. Here's the link:

Hello Ladies!!

Cathe .. yeah cruel them playing Shark Week a week b-4 my diving trip x( x( (yes have one more week) .. but really you are much safer diving with them than right on the ocean shore .. and I have had my close encounters and they have my FULL respect!! and yes .. they have a way of ending a dive REAL quick!!LOL:eek:

Nancy .. SOOOOO sorry to hear about your loss .. my friend just lost her 15 year old Lab this weekend .. soooooo sad .. and makes me hug my babies and give them lots of kisses b/c my brain can not even go there .. I get physically sick to think of that loss!!!

Angie .. 8:30 is EARLY???:eek: .. OK you are making me sick!! LOL ... JEEZE .. must be nice .. 6:15 is sleeping late during the week for me ..

Angie and Cathe .. wish you could come to my classes .. b/c I work the crap out of your trouble spots .. heck I have worked mine OFF .. my pants won't stay up .. I now have NO HIPS .. they are gone .. if it were not for my rear end I would not be able to keep pants on .. LOL .. but my trouble spot is my short waist .. I seem to have this "pooch" right below the belly button (think CABS are NOT helping at all!!) .. all my ladies ..even the pear shaped ones have shaped their lower bodies and decreased their hips and thighs .. so if your ever in Alabama .. LOL .. come on down!!:) .. I have to brag on my girls .. I work them hard .. but they all look soooooooo good!!:)

OK .. today worked heavy legs in the gym at lunch .. gotta miss class again tonight.. a work dinner .. I swear this company LOVES to eat .. but it is dinner w/the VP at the country club .. so it should be delish!!

Laura - LOL! Yup - I like to sleep! I'm a night owl so I don't go to bed until midnight (or later) usually. But, after the boys start school, I'll be getting up earlier.:(

Scuba diving sounds so fun. I have only done it in a lake. I would love to go in the ocean, but somewhat close to shore. I saw open water and ewwwwwwww.:eek:
BTW, what about that ? about flea stuff for the dogs? I'm curious as to what you decided to do with that.

Hey Angie ..

re: Dog/flea question .. Right now we went w/Paramite Dip .. it is a once a month dip .. it does have a bad smell to it .. that last a couple of days .. after that you don't notice it ..

we were using Frontline .. and have used it for some 15 years or so . . and were flea free for all of those years .. but all of a sudden the fleas were showing up again .. we asked our vet .. he said for some reason the Frontline stopped working down here .. like the fleas had become immune to it .. probably all the dry weather we were having and they overpopulated .. ?? .. anyway .. that is why we switched to the dip ..

but I want to switch back to Frontline and give it another try .. now that we have been getting some rain .. up until the first of this year Frontline has been the trick! no nasty smell .. EASY .. and it worked ..

.. and the hips .. yeah I don't want big hips but SOME hips would be nice .. when you are thin thru the hips it only makes the midsection look bigger ... LOL.. and heck I don't want to be doing a "wave" at the ballgame and have my pants fall down .. LOL!!!!!:+

Diana .. think you and I were posting at the same time .. wish I could join you in one of your bootcamp classes .. they sound like a blast .. but is it getting HOT yet?? Man you would pass out down here ... I break a sweat getting to my car in the afternoon!! LOL

Yeah, things are becoming better here. We're starting to realize he's not here so we're looking for him less, I guess. It's hard!! He was so much a part of us..........

Cathy - the only way to stay on target is to pack your lunch. The problem in my school is that we're always celebrating SOMETHING!! So there winds up being horrible food in the teachers lounge almost every day. I try to stay out as much as I can....

Angie - I always tease that if I didn't have to feed everyone I'd be rich. It costs me a fortune JUST TO EAT especially when you're trying to eat cleanly. I'm always in a grocery store but the bulk of my shopping is at Costco now. I love their produce, etc. and basically fill in at the grocery store that I can't get at Costco.

BTW, that root beer float sounds great!!! I'm going to give that one a shot!!!

Diana - yeah...like I said things are getting back to normal a bit. Is there a certain recipe for that root beer float (?) or just some vanilla in that rootbeer?

Laura - I used to get physically sick at the thought of this loss too and here it is. Yes..........we're physically sick!!! The eating has been good though, lol. We miss him so much it hurts!!! Yes, hug your babies!!!!!!!!!

Okay, we're off to verizon for some new phones!!! No workout for me today unless you count making a whirlpool in my pool. It was fun but naaayyyy, you can't count it. Maybe later...but I doubt it. I feel physically exhausted!!!!

Well I never made it to the gym uhggg! I think tomorrow morning I need to do a total body workout like MIS or MM. Don't ya just hate when work gets in the way of your workouts!

Laura-I think you would love my bootcamp class too. Did you read about my new favorite torture-the harness runs}( I take the night class, 7-8pm and it's not too hot then. There is 5:30am class, but I'm not awake at that hour:) Hope you have a great time on your upcoming dive trip.

Nancy-simlply using fat free/sugar free ice cream and diet rootbeer. Can you believe Cathy has never had a root beer float??

LOL Laura - I'll bet some of the guys wouldn't mind if you lost your pants in the stadium.:eek: It would be a bit embarassing.....but that is something I definitely do not have to worry about. I got hips to spare and then some.:(

Nancy - I'm sure it's tough getting back into your regular routine. Lots of folks consider getting another pet when they lose one to fill the void. That's what we did when we lost our last beagle that got hit on the road. Are you considering this? My parents really wanted to do the same when they lost their dog 5 years ago, but they are retired and said that they wouldn't be able to take off on a whim - so they refrained.
I'm so jealous of people who have a Costco nearby. Oh, and the root beer float....just put some low fat vanilla ice cream in a glass and pour root beer (I prefer diet) slowly over the ice cream. Yummy!!:9
Take a break, don't workout, and have a float.;-)

I had cardio on tap for today but nixxed it b/c I got the great body workouts in the mail today. There are 5 approx. 10 min workouts for thighs, buns, arms, abs, and stretch. It wasn't much of a calorie burner but I did sweat and there are some different exercises, but I've seen most of them on other workouts. Tony's arm workout didn't even use weights.:eek: You're supposed to flex the arms hard to get into the muscle. I added weight and I will increase for the next time. I did all the workouts just to see what they were like and they will probably work well for ad-ons but I didn't really care for it for a full day workout. I was gonna add something else, but thought nahhh - it's too darned hot and I still have a ton of packing to do.....so off I go.

Wiped out this morning on my run – DOH! - *lol* - I am known for falling down, but it hasn’t happened on a run in a long time. Managed to tumble on someone’s lawn and avoid the concrete, so I wound up with just a slightly bruised knee/shin and a jammed pinky finger. It’s taped up now, so I’m gonna keep this relatively short. It’s taking forever to type this and fix all the typos!…Did my 3 miles in the AM and a PLB mishmosh (up only, no leg presses) + PUB (no pikes) this evening.

Angie :: I guess I haven't had one because I’m not a big root beer person. I’ve probably only had reg. root beer a handful of times in my life. I would try a float, though. :) I saw Open Water, too – terrifying!…I miss Wendy, too. Is she back tomorrow? I can’t remember…I’m really pleased with the progress I’m making with the aug. 04 rotation.

Laura :: you know what, I can’t stop watching that shark stuff! It really is fascinating but it does scare me off from diving…I would LOVE to come to your class and have my booty disappear! *lol* Hope you enjoyed dinner with the VP at the country club.

Nancy :: Yes, I avoid the lounge, too. Eat in my classroom. I get more done that way.

Diana :: see my post to Angie re: the float. Enjoy BC tonight!
