P90X Grads/Nancy ---> Monday 7/30

Hi Ladies,

Where is everyone today?

I did Bodymax (original) cardio and circuits this morning. I have bootcamp class tonight. No weight work at the rec ctr since I will be leaving early to take DS for his immunization. My shoulders are definitely feeling the combat work with the 12lb body bar yesterday.

I am having trouble sticking to my rotation. This month will be especially difficult to get to the rec ctr with SR. pictures, school registrations, ortho appointments etc. It seems like some days I'm more motivated than others. I am seeing great results and should probably try to keep it up the best I can.

Laura-are you back from fishing? Did you catch the big one? Can't wait to hear about your deep sea adventures.

Nancy-how did it go at the vet today? I'm praying for you and your family.

Cathy-What workouts have you got planned for today?

Angie-I'll check back later to see what you're doing today.

Happy Monday,

Diana

Hey Diana & everyone else! :)

I was the last to post last night, so I figured I'd leave it to somebody else to get us started today.

I can just imagine the 12 lb. bar would work ya good. Do you feel it in the core, too? I would think it would get in there as well. I didn't feel it too much b/c I had to switch to the broomstick. I hate when things get so busy it starts to interfere with workouts. But it happens from time to time, so I think all we can do is stick to it as best as we can and not beat ourselves up over it. You always seem to have a balanced attitude toward these things, though, so I'm sure you'll roll with it and be fine.

I did some yoga this morning. The 15-min. warmup from Power Yoga for Athletes followed by one segment from the 10 Min. Solutions workout. It was just what I needed. I wanted to get it out of the way before my chiro appt. in case the sleepy factor kicked in. And sure enough, I am feeling nap-ish.

Have a great day! BBL

Hey girls -

Well, we had to put our dog to sleep. We're soooo sad!!!! It was the hardest thing to do but best for the dog. He gave us his all for 14 years and I paid him by not letting him suffer. Sooooooo sad!!!

I'll check in tomorrow.......

Nancy

Nancy :: (((((HUGS))))) I know you did the right thing, but understand how terribly sad it still is. Sorry you had to let your four-legged family member go! One of my saddest days was when I had to take the family cat to be put to sleep when I was 19 years old. I didn't think it would be so TOUGH -- it was also, we'd decided, the right thing to do and would be an end to her suffering. I guess I thought I would feel better right away just knowing that she was at peace. But the little bugger curled into the crook of my arm on the vet's table almost as if I was supposed to shield and protect her, and instead, I watched the life slip from her little body. Kept it together in the office but *sobbed my eyes out* as I drove home. It is a *very* tough decision to have to make...my heart goes out to you & your family.

Nancy-I am so sorry for your loss. As you said, he gave us his all for 14 years. HUGS to you and your family during this most difficult time.

Hi all

First off, Nancy, I am so, so sorry for your loss. My eyes were burning and welling up reading your post and the ones that followed. It is so painful to lose a pet.:( We'll be here for you over the next couple of days and beyond if you just need to chat. I wish so much that I could say something to make you feel better. (((((hugs))))) My heart truly goes out to you.

Hi again

Diana - This sure is a busy time of year isn't it? I just had enough time to get home and do IMAX2, take a quick shower, grab a protein bar, and get the kids to soccer and football practice. We had to get dinner at a local diner and still didn't get home until 9. x( I love the kids being in sports, but I hate this part of it......and it's just beginning.
I really need to figure out what to do about dinner when things get busy like this. The "lets just go to the diner" plan is not working for me, nor is the "what are you making for dinner?" plan. LOL! Do you have the same problem? We normally eat around 7 or so, but at this time of year, that is prime time for practices and games. I'm almost thinking that I should pack a picnic basket. Now, if I could only figure out what to put in it.....*lol* OK girls - I'll be eagerly waiting for suggestions.:)

Cathy - So, do you like the chiro now or are you still undecided?
Cody is still thrilled about writing camp, but he's going to have to miss football practice b/c of it and I don't think he knows that yet. I hope he's not too bummed. I think this is far more important than football and I think it will be really good for him. I'll give the coaches a heads up about it so they know he's not just sluffing off. For every practice he misses, he's out a quarter of the game, so he'll miss the first half of the first game. Oh well, he's just beginning so he probably wouldn't have played anyways. I like the way he enjoys football too but something educational over the summer just can't be beat.;-) I doubt I'll get any arguments from you on that one.:) Besides, he has all fall to enjoy football and this camp is only 4 days.
Are you back to the tutoring yet? Glad to hear you shelved the text books for a bit and are enjoying some fun reading.;-)

Have a relaxing evening all

Angie
