P90X Before and (almost) After

Thanks:)

It's a 12 week program. The before pic was taken before I started and I'm on Week 10, so I have the rest of this week and two more to go. There's always one person in the crew using bands, everyone else uses weights.

Wow Shelley! Nicely done. Definitely can see a difference in the cut between those two pics. So . . . are you doing one arm pullups yet?!?!?!}( }( :p

AMAZING, Shelley!

You are making me want this series even more now!!! ACK! LOL

Hey, maybe I'll buy it for DH for Christmas and then I can share it with him!}( }( }(

Does it require any more space than a Cathe vid would? I barely eek out enough space with her sometimes!:D

Most of the workouts/moves are very space friendly, especially the weight workouts and even the kickboxing. There are a couple of walking lunge segments that use the length of taking several lunges forward, but if you don't have the space, just reduce the number of lunges and turn around before they do.

Lookin' good! A good balance of muscle and softness.

And I think your development is even better than it looks like in these pictures, since you are paler in the second (which doesn't make muscle pop as much) and darker (and/or in more shadowy light) in the first, which brings out more definition.

The only suggestion I would have is to work on that racer-back mark on your back.;-)

Shelley- AWESOME results... I'm in week 2 and now even MORE in love w/ P90x if thats possible.........Best purchase I ever made (that & Cathe)

Hey Shelley - I posted to the gang and Dave and Posy and TOm are very impressed :)

They asked what week you are in. Looks like week 10. I've only got 3 more workouts! woo hoo - then I'm a grad!

Wendy - that's soo COOL - I bought it for my son and the rest is history :) You DH will love it. Personally I think it's a lot more guy friendly than cathe. Love the set, love the music, My FAVE is Daniel Hause is SA with the camo pants and boots how cool ist that!

Ok back to work.

Shelly I was on the fence about posting.. but I really may now!

Robyn -

I think you should post. Saw your posts lurking on the BB website also. Anyone who works hard should show it off!!

Shelley your pics are very inspiring! I'm on the first week of Phase II and I'm not following the P90X diet either.

I'm so envious that you can do one arm pushups! Man, that chest, shoulders and tricep workout made me feel like an 80 pound weakling.

I'd love to hear a couple of before and after numbers with regard to some P90X moves. In other words, have you made big gains in pull-ups and which variety, push-ups and which variety, etc.

Sophie (that's my DD's name!):

I actually found the biggest gains starting Phase III. I know Chest, Shoulders, Triceps is rough (I call it the workout of death), but man, it really gives you great gains.

Well, one of the gains is that I can do one-armed push-ups. On my knees, but I can go pretty deep and do a fair number of reps. I think my first time, I did one or two. Now I can do about 10 to 12.

I can do a few unassisted chin-ups and one whole unassisted overhand wide grip pull-up:)

I can do ALL the Mason twists in Ab Ripper X!!! That one is pretty exciting.

I'd have to check my worksheets for actual numbers but I can do lots more on my toes now.

*applauds* Very nice, Shellers! I believe your anti-P90X diet is working as well. You should teach me about that. ;-)

I hope you believe me now when I say you look SOOOO GOOD. And there, my dear, is your reality.

Pinky :)

Hi Shelly,

You look great. I just started phase II this week..I was wondering what size weights are you using? Are you a 8-10 rep girl or 12-15? I have been doing 12-15.

Steph

Thanks, Pinky:)

Steph - I'm a 12-15 rep girl. For back, I'm going pretty heavy. 25's or 30's for lawnmowers, nothing less than 20 for any other back exercise. Biceps 12s, 15s and 20s. Triceps 8s, 10s and 12s. Shoulders the same (I have weak shoulders).

Looking good Shelley! I didn't read through all the replies so forgive me if my question has already been asked and answered. Alot of people who have posted about P90X here complained that Legs and Back is just not enough to maintain and/or build lower body muscle. Did you use that leg workout exclusively (not including PlyoX) or add to it with non P90X stuff? If you only used P90X do you feel that your leg definition improved, stayed the same or went south? Also, did you use just the Cardio from P90X?

I see that's three questions, not one! I can also see that the easier question would have been: Did you follow the Classic rotation in it's purest form or did add and/or sub any other non P90X workouts?:7
