Overtraining recovery

Cathlete
Hello, Cathe or anyone else who might be experienced with this:
For the past few days, I have felt like my lungs will not expand enough to allow me to get a satisfying breath, even when resting. Is that overtraining?

(I know you are not a dr. and I do not intend to substitute any advice here for sound medical attention. I will go the Dr. if it gets worse or does not go away in a day or so.)

Could this be related to overtraining? I have been following the January rotation, however, I have not had an off day since Christmas Day- I know shame on me! I was sort of trying to count Yoga workouts as my off days- 1 per week. That's what I did for most all of December.

To me, it feels like the time in pregnancy when the baby has finally grown big enough that you can't expand your lungs enough for the two of you. In those cases, for me, it usually lasted a few days and then my lung capacity seemed to expand enough.

I don't know if anyone has experienced something like this and it related to workouts. I don't know what else it could be. Go to the dr? Go to an oxygen bar? ;) Go to bed?

I had really upped the intensity of my workouts in December and now in January I have tried to go with 70 minute workouts for the most part. Maybe that's just too long for me right now to do on a daily basis.
Sorry this is so long!
TIA-
Amy

I'm not Cathe ,But it sounds Like Bronchitis.Just the start of it maybe .I would think "overtraining"would be more like a sore body .These are just guesses I'm just a mom ,with experiance in sick kids LOL and hurt ones !!! Take it easy .Mary

Thank you, Mary-
I don't think it is related to being "sick" or having bronchitis. Something different....

I have never posted here, but thought I would add my experience with the same problem. I was experiencing the same symptons, especially during really tough (MIC, IMAX) cardio workouts. I got so bad one time, I passed out. I went to the dr and was diagnosed with exercise/allergy induced asthma. Now I use an inhaler before tough workouts, and do fine. I hope you feel better soon, but really think a trip to the doctor would be a really good idea for you.

I feel like I'm wearing a corset and can't breathe right when I'm under extreme stress or high anxiety. I'd gone to the doctor and had all sorts of tests done and they told me nothing at all is wrong with me.

You may well want to go to the doctor because every one's body is different and acts/reacts differently to different things.

But since you've not had a day off in a while, I'd take a week off if I were you and then begin to follow a rotation making sure to mind the rest days.

Yes, that describes it well- I feel like I'm wearing a corset.
This is my second day off and I've been trying to rest and de-stress. Its about 30% better today. I have a huge project deadline this week for something I've been working on for a year. Could be stess, for sure.
If I'm still having problems on Monday or Tuesday, I'll check w/ the dr.
Thanks!!
