The bar that Cathe uses is only 5' long, weighs 5 lbs and about 1" in diameter. An olympic bar is usually 7' long(although they have 6') weighs 45lbs and the end that the plates go on are bigger requiring olympic size wts. Now you can get a standard barbell in 6 or 7' that just takes regular plates like you use with the Troylite. If you are planning to get the Gold's Gym bench that we've been talking about I would recommend either a standard 7' BB or an olympic BB. The others just don't fit well.
