**One Day at a Time ** May 6 - June 3

Good morning!
I hope you both had a good day for Mother's Day yesterday. The weather was gloomy, but some family came over in the evening, so it was nice.
Yesterday I did STS Total Body. I'd forgotten how much I really like this one! For some reason, I did it by using Chapters instead of the "regular" way & was shocked that after the Stretch, there was more! More chest work, pull ups, etc. I didn't even know that was on there!
I'm really enjoying Jillian Michaels' book "Unlimited". It's helping my mind stay on a positive track. She helps you dig into why you do things - like the self sabotage I'm so good at!
Renee: I'm just thrilled to hear that your foot is doing so much better!!!! Awesome! I get Oxygen magazine, too! Great job on Low Impact Circuit!! I love that one, too. I used to do that one or Low Max every weekend. I think that if you could just break the cycle of the late night eating, it would help stop it for good. One thing that helped me was in Jillian's book Mastering Your Metabolism. She said not to eat after 9 p.m. Are you still looking for a rotation to do? Cathy is so right about not stressing over the weight gain, or more will go on! I still struggle with not beating myself up - like you - how can I let this happen -- again! But, did you guys beat me up when I told you I'd gained 8 pounds? NO! You both were supportive & gave me some positive things that I could do, or look at doing. So, why do we think it's OK to beat ourselves up? It's not OK! That's self-abuse! We need to hug ourselves, pick ourselves back up, & try again today. Today is all we have.
Cathy: I'm sorry that you're not sleeping again. My dr. had told me not to take as much melatonin as I had been, but as soon as I backed off it, I didn't sleep as well. So, I figure until my cortisol levels out & I get some hormones into my system, I'm going to continue with it. I'll back off it later. I'm too busy doing "arm aerobics" during the night as it is! The nurse at my ob/gyn's office called swishing the covers off & on during hot flashes during the night "arm aerobics". I thought that was funny! Are you still in pain today?

Not Urgent what workout to do today. May jog and upper body high Rep I just got it in the mail yesterday ... I may do whole body. Hmm...

Yesterday evening, I did Imax 2. Hadn't done that one in quite awhile. Felt pretty good to tough my way through it!
Renee: Good on ya for taking a rest day & not beating yourself up about it! I did have one other thought about peanut butter - don't buy any more of it! LOL You can't snack on it if it's not there!
Cathy: I hope you're feeling better today & were able to get some sleep!
I got my hormones yesterday, so I'm interested to see how that goes!

Jane LOL u r right! Loll I don't see y I buy it... I do get for DS who still lives there.. cheap and last for fast eats ... ur right I shouldn't buy it or I can have DH or son to hide it.

That is good on imax 2! Love that one but I think I can't do it yet cause of some jumping in it? Correct me if I'm wrong because I've only had pleasure of doing it once before injury. Do u think its modiviable?

Yesterday evening, I did Power Hour. I hadn't done that one before, so it was a nice shock for my body. I haven't done MIS that's on that disk, either. Have either one of you done it?
Cathy: So hope you're OK - got you on my mind! Stretch Max is on the Deal of the Day. Since I have the cortisol issue, do you think this could substitute for a "yogaish" type workout?
Renee: It might be a very good idea for DH or son to hide the PB! Good thought! Yes, Imax 2 does have jumping in it, but I do think you could modify it easily. Cathy gave me some great tips for modifying - like do squat digs for jumps & tuck jumps, regular or plyo jacks for airborne jacks. She may have some specific ones in mind for Imax 2 - Cathy? I tend to modify as they come at me, but I'm not real good at remembering what I've done so that I can tell someone else. :eek: Sometimes I'll just do the lunges towards each end of the step if I can't think of any other modifier.
Beautiful day here in Cincinnati! The sun is out & it's supposed to get up to 74. My kind of weather! I just wish I could get out in it instead of being stuck behind this desk all day. At least I have a window - for years I didn't even have that, so I'll quit my moaning!
SO EXCITED! Filming was yesterday!!!!! One step closer to new workouts! YAY!
 
I want to thank Jane for pointing me here

I hurt my right foot very badly, and it was not from working out. I had a huge blister that burst, and this is the second week and it still has not healed. I also made a huge mistake with getting breast implants. I had nursed both my children, and I had very flabby breasts. I had the money so I went to a surgeon, and I asked him for a C cup, and I ended up with double D's. For someone with two graduate degrees, I was very stupid, and I did not realize that I would end up with back problems. The thing that helped the most was going to the chiropractor, but the expense of that is 60.00 a week. I am a freelance personal trainer, and I don't have as many clients as I used to. I hate to say this, but I take painkillers now. I never get addicted because I know that you cannot take them every day, so I space them out. Cathe is my favorite video producer and I also like Christ Taylor especially her older ones like Step Heaven.

I will pray for everyone here that things will get better for all of us. God bless.
 
Renee, do you get migraine headaches by any chance? There are too many kinds of headaches, and even at my age (over fifty) I still get migraines.
 
Cdpoter.. yes I get headaches a lot. I hate it if I laugh to much or cry to much even talk to much. LOL. Welcome to the forum! I would like to lose some boobs n get them lifted. But not enough money yet. Hope you get to feeling better. So you have two kids? How old r they now?
 
Jane I wish I had the money I would have gotten the stretch DVD! I just got high reps when I ordered The new DVD last week. I did HR upper body and Step premix of Cardio and weights yesterday.. I ran today. Foot is feeling it to ice ice baby! I think tomorrow is rest day or yoga relax ..
 
I just put on athletic shoes for the first time since I hurt my foot. I am going to do a short workout of legs. I have to admit I had to put my running shoes on as they were looser. Good luck, everybody.
 
CDpotier... good luck! I may do rest day foot still hurts today. I really think it is jumps during step that aggrivates it more. I love step and jumping. :( LOL.

Just to fill you in - I heard from Cathy's daughter. Her computer is broken, so that's why she hasn't been checking in. Whew! I was beginning to get worried!
Welcome Caitlin! It's great to have you here! How did you get the blister? That sounds really painful. Once they pop, ouch!!! One thing I have learned is that the older I get, the slower I heal, darn it! I'm sorry that your surgery ended up causing you back problems. What a nightmare for you!!! My 2 step daughters are very well endowed, & they hate it because of the pain in their backs! I'm glad that you're being careful with the pain pills. My DH has had several surgeries (knee replacements, carpal tunnel, etc.), & he always worries that he'll get addicted. If my doctor gave me pain pills for my fibromyalgia, I know straight up that I'd get addicted. I have an addictive personality, darn it! I get migraines, too. I take Imitrex for them, which isn't a pain pill, it works by constricting the blood vessels. Mine were always connected to my cycle, so when my ob/gyn took me off HRT, the migraines came back with a vengence. I just started on bio identical hormones, so I'm hoping they will help.
Renee: Glad to hear that you took a rest day, especially since you've been so tired lately. From what you said about the fatigue, it sounds similar to adrenal exhaustion, in which case, you need to do much "easier" workouts anyway. If jumping is hurting your foot, please modify those! I know you love them, & it drives you nuts not to be able to do things you love, BUT, if you injure yourself more, it will just take longer to heal in the long run.
Yesterday evening I did Yoga Relax. That felt so good - I love this workout! I'm going out of town over the weekend, so I may or may not be able to check in. I'm leaving tomorrow & won't be back until Tuesday. So, I'll have a few rest days!!

I was wondering about Cathy! Im glad she is doing well. Where did you see Caitlins name? I was looking for it i just had to type in the username i saw.

Caitlin how did the workout go? What one did you choose today?

Jane please keep me posted on the bio identical hormones, i am thinking of doing this instead of the Regulat HRT when it is my time. I just have to find a doctor that will help me with that.

Yes i do love the jumping but i do realize i need to slow it down, but afraid if i do ill get even bigger.. im so confused on the losing weight like i said before i did it befroe and it was low fat stuff. Now there are no low fat unless i eat nothing but salads.. that is basicaly what i do now!

I was going to do yoga relax not sure yet if i do it will be late, DH is grouchy trying to type up his resume to get a higher paying job within his job he is at now. He cant type but he cant do computers either and he cusses the thing out and wants to throw it im sure.. I stay away from him! Gawd men can be pains in the ass when they take a hankering lol hankering lol i make myself laugh.

Please have a great weekend Jane adn the rest of you!! oh by the way did you guys buy the new dvd's? I did hoping i will be able to do them eventually. I hope the music is like body max 2 or step blast and SJP dvd's! That is what attracted me to Cathe, was the music.! That is a good price for them. I just wonder how she came up with choerography and get all the crew to get the steps down, if it was so fast it was only a week. Or have they been practicing it before. I never see how Cathe fits it all in i mean she was on RT so how in the world did they all learn it so fast? I know she didnt just make up the steps as she went. hmm.

Hi Cathy.. so glad ur back! I was wanting to ask.. did u preorder the new workouts? I did and I'm praying I can do them. I read she will have modification on care tv web site. And the music will b top 40 songs. Well I did cardio supersets plus step add on today. Wow that was ruff.

Me to Cathy I'm not sure if ill b able to keep up either LOL. IV only done afterburn two times. I am scared of it. I think if the music was rocken on that one It may Have been a distraction and I could handle it. I think my favorite is CSS and AT in the lis.
I heard the new ones are gonna have top 40 music! Whoo hoo. I can't wait to try.
I painted more today. And work out was lowmax I used HRM on it I burned 509 calories .. wow I do love that one it was the first one I did of Cathe and that is what hooked me. I fell on my butt and hurt it but I had such a blast I did it over n over. That was when I had to get more of cathe.
Well I guess I'm gonna go get ready for bed. Good night ladies ..

Had a great visit with my parents, & the singing show that they were in was fantastic, as it is every year! It is so hard to see them going slowly downhill, though. Because I'm not there but every month or two, I think I notice it more than if I were around every day...
Cathy: So glad you're back! One does miss the forum when one is away!!! I think gentle yoga is just the ticket for you.
Renee: CS & Low Max - way to go! Those are not easy by a long shot! How is your foot doing? Good job on the painting!
Caitlin: How are you doing?
I also preordered the new DVDs. I'm excited, but am also worried about whether or not I'll be able to do them! Something else to work towards!!
DH & I got home yesterday afternoon. He got sick with a stomach virus while we were away, so I drove home. After we got settled, I did Athletic Training. It felt really good to work out again.
Weds. evening, DH's granddaughter is graduating high school. She has already enlisted in the Navy, but she doesn't leave until August. Just seems like yesterday that she was a baby!
