OMG - do you feel it?

Say it ain't so!! So the "back to school" marketing blitz has hit, and as DH and I were driving by a local amusement park yesterday we noticed that they have their fall hours posted. Now I know they want people to plan ahead, but it feels like summer is OVER!!! And it's only JULY!

Do any of the rest of you get that feeling? I was cutting the grass this morning and even the smell is different. Swim lessons for my kids conclude this week and one of the moms even commented that summer is done. It's only been a month!!! Please make it last. :(

This summer has flown by, ITA!! I'm not too unhappy about it though. I love the fall and winter.

I can't blooming well wait. I'm so sick of this heat and humidity. I can stand high summer for about 3 minutes, then I'm pining for fall.

Of course, after fall, I'd be more than happy if it went back to spring again so I didn't have to endure the long, cold Canadian winter.

I guess I'm just never happy;)

Nope! Not over! We still have 2 more months! At least here, we do! I have chosen to look away from anything that says otherwise!

Side note...I just knew that this thread was going to be about this:eek:

Amen to that, sistah! All of it. I love fall and spring and you an have the rest of it.

Well I always get alittle depressed when June is over with and now July is almost gone. I notice more and more cobwebs as it gets closer to September and the spiders just get bigger and bigger...ew! There will be more dew to deal with on the windows of the cars. The days are getting slightly shorter, but not enough yet to bother me like the way it is in December. I just wish it could stay June all year long, but then there wouldn't be anything to look forward to so we must take advantage of these nice summer days while we can.

hmmmm....maybe you are on to something? I don't mind the heat/humidity and all that yuck leaving, but we still have a while for summer. I do agree that it always annoys me to no end that we start one season and already all the crap is out for the next. Take a break marketing. Sheesh.

Yeah, summer is going fast. Here in Fort Sam Houston, TX school starts on Aug. 14. I can't believe it is back to school already. This summer really did seem to fly by. Oh well, my favorite times of the year are spring and fall also. These days of high 90's and low 100's can go bye-bye as soon as possible. It is just unbearable to be outside and the poor kids get all hot and tired after 20 minutes of being outside!!

I will be enjoying my lovely summer through the end of August, thank you. I hate merchandising and commercialism.:p

I homeschool, so school and fall begin when I say it does. Heck, beach here I come in less than 2 weeks.

Come September when I go apple picking at the local orchards, then I'll declare fall.:)

I live in Florida, so summer weather doesn't really end until September, so my body doesn't think it is ending yet. My brain sure does though! I have to start back to classes on Aug 14th. This has been my last summer off ever, and I know that the 2nd year of medical school is the most difficult. I want the summer to stay!

I welcome the cooler weather when I can walk outside any time of the day, and not have to check weather.com for the hourly predictions of the temperature!

It is depressing to me, too! I actually just bought a winter coat last week...it was sad to even see them in the stores already.
I get that nostalgic feeling around this time. And, we are loosing minutes of daylight each day...boooohoooo

Well, let's all enjoy the sunny days while we can!!

Can't feel it yet .. I live in Southern Alabama and our summer last way into September. So still have a while .. but the back to school items are out in full in all the stores .. and so are the shoppers .. forget making a "quick trip" to Wal-mart .. LOl... impossible!!

I plan on enjoying the rest of the summer .. fishing and boating .. and lounging in the pool .. in my spare time .. working 12 hour days is hard to fit in a lot of relaxation . but I am burning that vacation time up .. LOL!!!

I will look forward to that crisp air that is to come though .. this heat is a killer! I love the air in at the beginning of fall and spring .. LOVE IT!!!

Our schools start next week here ... so lots of Moms will be shedding a tear for the little ones going off to school for the first time ...

.. me I am dredding the morning traffic .. will have to get up even earlier .. dang it!!

.. oh and I turn 40 in September .. ;( :-(

YIKES ... I will officially be going into hiding ..

School starts in 2 weeks here in Florida! I heard on the radio an advertisement this weekend that started, "Now that summer is almost over...." and couldn't believe it!

Here in NY, we go back to school on Sept 5th so we are actually not even half way through it yet. Thank goodness!!!!! This is our 4th week off and have 5 to go. yay!!!!!!!!!!!!

School starts here on August 29th, but I bought all my DS school supplies and I went out today at lunch and bought him some new jeans, etc for school clothes. If I get this stuff out of the way now, I can enjoy the rest of the summer more, I think.

Even though I LOVE fall, it always makes me sad when summer is over, which IT IS NOT!!!!! For some reason, summer always brings a smile to my face, fond childhood memories or something. I think it is the sunshine and the breeze in all the trees. I love how everything is GREEN around me. The heat and humidity sucks, but it is nothing like it was when I was in Mississippi for tech school in the USAF!!! Also, I lived in Denver for almost 4 years, and I hated that dry heat. I think that is worse then the humidity. But that's me.
It is annoying to see the few bathing suits left sitting haphazzardly on a clearance rack!

I'll take a blizzard over this nonsense any day of the week!!!
