Hi Ladies.

I need your help. We just got home from the vet with our 1 year old Golden Retriever, Clyde. He has these growths on his skin that are being biopsied. Cancer is an unfortunate possibility.

I don't know if this sounds silly or not, but could you please pray for my little guy (though he's not so little anymore-80 pounds!!) that it's NOT cancer, but some other, less serious and very treatable skin condition that will allow him to stay with us for many more years?

We won't have the results for atleast a week....I am trying to have a positive attitude but it's hard. The one GOOD thing (for now) is that these growths/lumps don't seem to bother him at all...he doesn't mess with them and his personality is unhampered! He's an awesome dog!!

Thanks

~Wendy~

Hi Wendy....omg that is not silly at all! I will most certainly say a prayer for your little guy tonight.........I'm really sorry you hav to deal with that. He must be such a joy to have around the house....I just LOVE LOVE LOVE golden retrievers! I think they are little pieces of heaven on earth! He is so young it could be a host of other things. Please let us know what the results are when you get them. Keep your chin up, we are here for you.

You've got it. I have two German Shephards and we will all cross our paws for your pup!

We'll do a howling vigil for you here. Good luck and let us know how it comes out.

Thanks so much to all of you!
Will let you know what the outcome is when I know...

My cats and I are sending positive thoughts your way, in hopes of a non-serious, treatable answer.

As a dog owner myself I understand completely what you're going through. Positive vibes coming at ya from me and my pooch Addie Mae! Take care.

Wendy,

Already done! They become members of the family. Giving him lots of hugs and kisses during this week will make you BOTH happy. For you its the comfort and for him its the attention.

Take Care!

Hi Wendy,

I'm so sorry you have to go through this awful fear...the waiting gets you, I know. Try to remember that it could be any number of things.

Of course I will hold Clyde in my thoughts & prayers, as will my prayer group. DH sends his love & best wishes too.

Take care,
Ruth

Wendy,

I am so sorry you and Clyde are going through this. It is not silly at all to ask for prayers, and you can count me in!

Stay positive- There are so many non-life threatening things that the growths could be- benign fatty tumors, bug bites, a weird rash, cysts... And if, heaven forbid, it is something more serious, he is still a young little guy with a lot of resiliency.

Please keep us updated.

Hi Wendy

It does not sound silly. I will pray for your puppy.

Thank you ladies soooo much! You are awesome!

To know Clyde is to love him (not that I'm bragging ofcourse, lol :p)

He is just a pile of mushy love and affection who can't get enough of people! He also loves to play with other dogs and he loves to be lazy and sleep and get rubbed on his belly! I can not forget to mention how he LOVES to eat too!lol :)

I have had several dogs in my life time and I loved them all but I have always wanted a golden for as long as I can remember. I finally got him and I just will NOT lose him now! I refuse!!! I am so looking forward to him and my son growing up together (Clyde also loves kids like crazy!). They will be the best of friends!

Well, I gotta head off for work now...Thanks for listening and thanks again for your prayers and your warmth. I'll check in when I know more.

We are sending prayers from Rocky and Appollo's (brother kittens born Aug '04) family to Clyde and his family! May God Bless and watch over Clyde.

Your poor baby!!! My dogs are like my children so I can only imagine what you are going through. We had a scare with my 8 year old silky terrior thought she had a form of colon cancer and I was so distraught!! She's ok though. Hopefully your puppy will be ok too. What's his name?

Catherine

ETA oops see he's name is clyde

My thoughts are with you Wendy! If it makes you feel any better, one of my best friends just went through this same thing with her little schnauzer (Leroy). He had a big growth on his ear of all places!! They biopsied it and determined that it was a tumor, but the non-cancerous type. They just did a simple surgery to remove it and now he's just fine! Stay positive!

I'll send you my positive vibes--goldens are the best dogs in the world!

If it makes you feel any better, one of my dogs is half retriever & she gets these things called fleshy tumors all the time. They look really scary but they're just some kind of ugly growth. She's turning 14 this month.

I'll keep my fingers crossed it's something as simple as that.........
