O.T.....Mascara

I'm sick of buying the latest and greatest mascara only to have it be clumpy after about 2 weeks. Does anyone have a good, smudge-proof mascara that won't clump on my lashes??? I'm not into those eyelash combs either b/c I think the mascara should live up to it's great claims!

Hi Stacy,
I have the same trouble! Waterproof mascara is the worst for me but I also have trouble with some brands of lash thickening mascaras. I think the best thing to do is to speak to the consultant and explain the trouble you're having. I'm really happy with the Chanel mascara's and no longer have any trouble with clumping or drying. I also like Clinque's mascara's but Chanel are my favourite.

P.S. Be sure not to pump the wand into the base several times before use. It's pumps air into the mascara and dries it out. And let's face it, we rarely need to get more mascara onto the wand!

I love L'Oreal's Voluminous mascara. I have used it for years and swear by it!

I use Almay One Coat mascara and think it works great. When it starts drying out, I do the bad thing, and add water to it. I know you are not supposed to do this, but it sure works great and keeps your mascara going on fresh for a long time.

I "invest" in my makeup. I use BeneFit mascara & have never had clumps or problems with racoon eyes. It runs about $20 with shipping & handling but lasts about 6 months (which is how often you should change your mascara anyway).

The advice about "pumping" is dead on. Your tube has enough mascara on it to coat your lashes & pumping does nothing but put air into the tube. If you want "fatter" lashes, put on another coat after it the first one dries.

I've never found anything better than Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara. It goes on absolutely perfect. It lasts a very long time too.

Mary Kay Endless Performance Mascara. It does not clump and goes on nice and smooth )

I would also invest in the Tweezerman Metal Lash Comb. Comb your eyelashes immediately after mascara application to seperate the lashes and breakdown clumps. Its sharp though so be careful you don't stab your eye !
