Non Scale Victories

Anyone want to post their nsv? Examples: Fitting into your skinny jeans, doing a Cathe routine without modifying, breaking your record, losing inches, you get the idea.

I could check "all of the above" because they all apply to me and make me happy. :D

But, my greatest NSV is seeing my muscle tone. I love my arms and shoulders. Lots of great curved, toned, tight muscles.

NSV

Loosing an inch, just an inch off my thigh, gaining chiselled/cut legs, gaining a more chiselled upper body and last but not least building a bigger glute maximus putting Miss minaj to shame lol :D:D:D Joking!!!;)

Today- fitting into pants other than sweatpants.

recently- not eating while I'm preparing my family's food.

Gave away the sweets that were tempting me. It wasn't even very much calories, a handful of frozen chocolate chips and the last big gingersnap cookie, but I can't handle moderation yet, so I'm not having any.

Doing awesome watching my portion sizes and eating only if I'm hungry. Logging and counting calories only lasts a few days at most, so this won't last long, but it helps me reset.

All the NSV you wrote apply to me :D. I HATE THE SCALE! THEY ARE EVIL LIARS! I'll take losing inches over losing lbs any day!

My most recent Cathe workout NSV was nailing every.single.dreaded.plie.jack in Imax3 at the same tempo as Cathe . I can also do some pretty impressive tuck jumps and air jacks if I do say so myself ;). Oh, and I almost forgot those 1 leg hamstring roll-outs -- I can do them now .

Great motivating topic! I love it .

For me it was losing 80 pounds, getting a terrible series of injuries and only putting on 30, not all 80. So, take that scale. ;) I know that I can get it off again. I know how. I also know that I won't actually die in the last 15 minutes of a workout, it only feels like it.:p

This is my 4th week in a row sticking to my workouts for 5 days in a row! Mon-Fri. So proud of myself.....:) Since having my little one who is now 2.5 life has changed for me dramatically. I find it so difficult making time with 2 young girls now to squeeze in my workouts. I was a hardcore cathlete working out 6 days a week for 1 hour or more at times but now things have changed. For the better of course :) Here are my 2 babies!

My biggest nsv was about 2 years after a drunk driver hit my car head on and crushed both of my heels (among other injuries but that was the worst)--doing P90X Plyo X again with 2 plates and 12 screws in each heel, and after my ortho surgeon said I would never do plyometrics again and should stick to swimming and biking. I followed that up with Turbo Fire and Insanity--lots of Plyo.

Then I discovered Cathe--which brings me to my latest nsv--doing her step workouts! I avoided them like the plague in the beginning because I hated the complex choreography but now I love most of them! I never thought I'd be able to do her more complex step routines but I am learning! And loving it!

Kudos and Hurrays for all of you who shared your NSVs!! I always love this topic, as it reminds us that the scale does not control our lives.

Learning that lesson has been my biggest NSV this year, but other than that they've been fitness related.

Doing 2 sets of push up jacks in Afterburn. Being able to do real pushups finally, period. Those are both new for me this year.

Eating healthily and not avoiding carbs (just eating them in moderation) has also been a big victory for me. I had to master having some self-control and not doing the "all or nothing" approach to food.

And, adding some muscle tone, getting rid of my saddelbags and most of my jiggly bits through diet and exercise this year.

My biggest NSV? Ditching the scale! Seriously, I had my husband hide it and I go with measurements and how I feel about me that day :) I know that my challenge is to lose the last 10 lbs, I have a pair of pants in my closet that will let me know when I do it :)

My second biggest is seeing my butt lifted!
