NO sweets starting tomorrow...

I'm totally with you on this one. I've been struggling with sugar for over a year now and I've been out of control lately. I have found that I cannot have a "small amount" of chocolate, and it truly is like an alcoholic can't have a "small amount" of alcohol. I truly think I have an addiction.

I know a woman that works in an office down the hall from me that is a third of her former body size. I finally asked her what her "secret" was and she said she was a food addict so now she has no flour (of any kind - even wheat) and no sugar. She lost the weight pretty fast too - but she said she was the same way I am; can't eat a bit of sugar - she eats it all.

She also said that once she eliminated sugar from her diet, she swears her IQ level went up 20 points. I'm sure everyone knows that "fuzzy mind" feeling you get when you OD on sugar....

I will try to join you, only if I can confess first that up until today, I've done horribly. :(

I'm starting my 8th day of being sweet (candy, cookie and cake) free! Actually this is my 3rd attempt at trying to do this and so far so good. Believe me it gets easier. The hardest part was watching a movie with my sister this weekend. I so wanted a couple of peppermint patties but I resisted and I'm glad I did.

If I can do this, anyone can!

Lori,

I am with you! Eat too many sweets and have been trying miserbly to stop. Like you I eat them because I am bored or depressed which only makes me more depressed. I'll help you if you help me!

Hey Lori, I was just looking at the check ins, the one that is going now is that the weekly check in one? I don't know about you but to start I am going to need someone to answer to daily!!!!

Linda

Day one...so far so good! I gave up the left over candy in my bowl to my co-worker. The test will be lunch as we are all going out for a buffet lunch and I KNOW the dessert will be tempting. Keeping my fingers crossed:7

Isn't there already a No Sweets check-in on the Check-Ins and Challenges board??? Why don't you just join them? I'm sure they'd be very supportive and have lots of good tips on how to stay on track. :)

Lori,

The only no sweets check in I see is listed as No Sweets for the week of Feb 24. I have no problem with join an already existing check in , I just know persoanlly I will need daily help! If I go a week with out having to tell someone what I did or didnot it I will be too tempted and just probably omit the fact that i fell of the wagon. I just want to make sure i succeed. I turn 40 in 64 days and it's my goal to be at my best with a ripped six pack by then!

Linda

Linda, me to! Thats why I was debating joining that group. I guess it must be a small group and they only post the thread once weekly BUT post everyday? Come on...lets do it!!!

Lori:)

This is going to be painful for me but I'll do it! I would like to join in. I have a trip to cancun coming up in about a month and my eating habits (sweets actually) has been keeping me from my goals. It's going to be tough.;)

actually what that does is make you binge on sweets when you do eat it, it is best to allow yourself just a little in moderation.

I'd love to have a no sweet forum. Even if its a small group
I went in and posted in the check-in and challenges :)
