My best friend (who's a huge Rush fan and got me into them a few years ago) claims that they're the band that every guy's girlfriend loves to hate.
I didn't believe him until I went to a Rush concert at SPAC a few years ago. I think the male to female ratio at the show was about 9:1. There was no line for the ladies room all night...it was awesome. :+

LOL - last time I went to see Tool, there was a HUGE line-up for the men's room and none for the ladies. It was a refreshing change.

LOL! My DH and I were just talking about this. Every song sounds EXACTLY the same! I always turn the channel too. The new one "If Everyone Cared" cracks my DH and I up whenever we hear it though. It came on one day and Dakota, our weiner dog, really perked up and started howling. So we changed the lyrics to say "Then we'd see the day when no weiner died". After doing that, the song got totally stuck in our heads, so as a joke for DH, I redid the lyrics to be about our weiner dogs (Cheyenne, Montana, & Dakota) and e-mailed it to him at work. Maybe you will like this version better than Nickelback's. Yeah, I know, I'm totally lame! :+

I am not sure about Clifton Park. There is the Curry House on Madison Ave in Albany which is FABULOUS but probably a bit out the way for you.
According to a Google search the Shalimar is decent. Here's the poop:

I LOVE them! Some of my favorite NB songs are not played on the radio though. I was just on the net looking for tickets to a show in Michigan or nearby....no luck. So if you guys want to boot them out of Canada, I know a place in northern Michigan that would certainly enjoy their company ;-)
