Hi all ~ this is my first posting... First some background: I have been an avid MTBer for many years, and got into running about 2.5 years ago, just before turning the big four-oh. 16 weeks ago I crashed my MTB and broke my shoulder, thus throwing my fitness routine into a tailspin, and I've managed to put on 8 lbs in 3.5-months - argh!!! I am just starting to bike and run again, but now that fall is here it's too dark so soon after work to get in any kind of a decent workout! And with the time-change just around the corner, I am needing to bring my workouts indoors. I need CARDIO in the worst way!! I need to lose not only the 8 lbs I've gained, but probably at least another 5, and I'd like to acomplish this before the end of the year (when Hubby & I are going to Hawaii for New Years vacation!). I have always fallen back on weightlifting and step aerobics for the non-daylight savings months, but I've been bored, bored, bored with the same old videos year after year. So, a week ago I ordered four Cathe DVDs and a brand new step (why not?). It is all supposed to be delivered on Monday, and I can hardly wait to get started!!!

Welcome! I'm sorry about your accident but I think you'll find lots of people here know what you mean about being forced to take time off from your workouts. Lots of us have been there or are there now. A great group of people check in here and it's a terrific resource for information, help and support. You're going to love working out with Cathe!

Welcome! :)

I too am sorry to hear of your accident ~ hope you're healing well. Let us know what you ordered and what you think once you try a DVD or two. *Warning: The purchase of one or more Cathe DVDs very often leads to the purchase of many, many more.* (And then just when you think the spending spree is over, there's Cardio Coach.) Good luck with that. :p

Hey TrekChick!

Welcome! Nice to see you here. I've been here forever - well, not as long as some people! When they changed over to the new forum format I couldn't remember my user name and password combo for the LIFE of me (I was always logged in) so I finally had to give up and start over. Anyway, you'll love it here. Lots of wonderful people.

I think you'll get some great advice on workouts. You know what a Cardio Coach lover I am and there are lots of them here too! I check in with the Hardcores. You should join us over on the check ins.

Welcome TrekChick.

I have to agree with Laughingwater...You can never have enough Cathe...and Cardio Coach is awesome...so is Amy Bento...Ok...I'm going to stop now before everyone here realizes my addiction...smil.e

Welcome Welcome!!! Happy to see you on here - and like others have mentioned - prepare for some spending... LOL... they are a GREAT addiction...

So.... Which ones did you order???

Welcome! I've only been here a few months myself and let me attest that my credit card has taken a BEATING! I am now a certified Cathe addict! You will love her!

WELCOME!!!!

I am sorry to hear about your accident, but glad that you are okay. I look forward to getting to know more about you. :)

Welcome!

Welcome to the forums. I too am a newbie (to the forums). You'll get lots of great advice and support here. You are going to love Cathe...promise you will not get bored. Which dvd's did ya get?

Wow!!

Wow, ladies, what a wonderful welcome you've all sent my way! Happy to be here, and... a little sore from my first workout last night :p !

Since I decided to buy a new step, I went with a bundled-package that included "Imax-2", "I-max3" & "Step Jump & Pump", and then I also got "Butts & Guts" 'cause that's where I need the most work! I was looking hard at the Cardio Fusion, too, so that will probably be my next purchase down the road...

It took me about 90 minutes to do the 55-min Imax-2 last night! I kept having to restart the intervals 'cause I wasn't getting them down by the 6th try - lol! I should have it down after 2-3 more times through.

I was hoping for a little less high-impact to start with (and as little upper-body as possible since my shoulder is still all jacked up!), so any recommendations on which one to tackle next??

Thanks, girls!

Wow. You jumped right in there didn't ya. IMAX 2 is a tough work out, as you've learned. Butts and Guts is one of my favorites. Enjoy it.
