New Workout Reviews?

Has anyone done the new workouts yet? I haven't received mine yet but would love to hear everyone's reviews, suggestions, AND warnings. ;-)

>NOBODY HAS DONE THEM YET?? Awwww, come on now.....:7

Actually I have done two of them. I did all of Butts & Guts along with the bonus abs and bonus lower body routines and it's a winner if you want to get your bottom buff. Lots of variety in working your lower half at every angle. Plenty of standing work with weights and also a nice mat routine using ankle weights to pump up the intensity. I also liked the stability ball warm up that got my heart rate up nicely. The bonus abs routine was a lot of fun and really used the stability ball to work the abs at all angles front and back.

I did the Total Body Strength (name?) pre-mix this morning on the Low Impact Circuits DVD. Again, another winner. Cathe used the step for an 8 minute warmup and stretch followed by lots of upper and lower body work using 5lb dumbbells, a 20lb barbell and a resistance band. My arms were tired after attempting those bicep curls using the band in conjunction with the barbell. Lots of pushups too. The abdominal routine was nice and again really worked your core from all angles - front, back and obliques.

I can't wait to break in the other 3. I am considering the bonus DVD that included for pre-orders. It looks quite challenging!

Kathy,

Thanks for the review of Butts and Guts. That's the one I can't wait to get my hands on and it sounds like it will live up to my expectations.

:)

Kathy...thanks for the reviews :) I get even more excited to get them when I hear people describing them. I think they sound so great!

No, it's OK. I still don't know EXACTLY ;) but from your post I gather it's a DVD. I can't to wait to try them!

I did Body Max 2 today and it was awesome. The step routine has lots of new moves in it, so it's very entertaining. I burned 800 cals.!!:D I do not have Body Max, so the whole format was new and interesting to me. My only minor comment is that my triceps were so exhausted from the weight work when I started the abs (hip lifts, which use your arms bracing on the floor) that it was impossible to keep my form! I'll get it eventually.....:)

>I have a feeling that Butts and Guts will be a fave of mine.
>And Drill Max looks like a goodie, too.

If you like or need lower body workout B & G will not disapoint. What I also enjoy about Cathe is that while she is killng you, she makes you laugh or at least smile. Quite often it's enough to get you thru that last rep. I really have to get to one of her classes in person as I only live 30 minutes or so away. I just want to get in better shape first.:7

>Kathy, does it work your legs too or just target the butt?
>
>Ashley

The legs get a nice workout here too. She does floor work to get the outer and inner thigh area. The walking lunges with plies in between also work those areas as well. Even the table work that is mainly for the butt gets the outer thighs too. There are also plenty of deadlifts to work the lower back area.

>I didn't give away the suprise really. Never said exactly
>what is was. Sorry if I made you mad.

Yeah, you did ruin the surprise for those of use who wanted to keep it a SURPRISE.

Kathy,
Accidents happen. If I had wanted to ENSURE that I not know the surprise before my shipment arrived, I would have avoided the forums, knowing in all the excitement that someone would let it slip.

Please stop the whining, people. Just look forward to your workouts - they're great!

Keep smiling & sweating!:)

B&G praise!

I have only done LIC and B&G so far - LIC is a typical Cathe quality workout (A+) - but B&G is an A+++ As I did the workout it reinforced the loyalty, faith, and excitement that I feel for Cathe workouts! She never fails to step things up a notch - always challenging my body and inspiring my mind. Thank you Cathe!

I just got mine and have not done any, but did preview enough of the choreography to see that it should not be difficult to catch onto - for anyone who is familiar with Cathe choreography, that is. BodyMax is done on an 8" step, but I think if I were to string together cardio from all the workouts that have it (as in some premixes, etc.), I may lower it to a 6" step in the beginning. I can't imagine going an hour on an 8" step, personally.
