HI everyone! I've been lurking on the forums for a few weeks and finally decided to join you. I hope this message gets to you! Please allow me to introduce myself if you don't mind! My name is Janet. I've been exercising for years now (I'm 46) and work out at 6 am every morning before work. We finally switched from satellite to cable tv because I just had to have fit tv. Well, CAthe is my new idol! I absolutely love her workouts. I have a ton of videos, but I'm committed to spending some money for my home gym to add a bunch of hers to my collection. I love to do KP & C and Boot Camp. I also do the total body muscle conditioning workouts too. I've never loved The Firm, although I have most of those tapes (and DVD's) too. I just could never get myself to do them. I have an elliptical trainer and a treadmill, as well as a recumbunt bike that I never use. So, I'm looking forward to messaging with all of you. I have lots of questions as to which DVD's to buy, but I won't bother them with you now. Also, I love Turbo Jam and just ordered the newest ones which I can't wait to get! I'm always trying to get off those last 5 lbs too! Well, that's it for now. Someone respond, so I know I did this right, Please!!!!

Welcome! Yes, you might as well just resign yourself to buying them all. Once you discover Cathe, there's really no going back:)

Welcome, Janet!

Hi, Janet!

Welcome to Cathe. You'll never be the same. I promised myself I would exert control when I found her tapes a year or so ago, but so much for that idea. I don't have all of them, but it's pretty darned close. So just enjoy the ride.

Hi Janet!
Welcome to Catheworld--what a wonderful place to be!:) I'm new since Jan and only intended to buy the Gym Style workouts. Well, I now have several more. ;-) They are soooo much fun AND very addictive!

Thanks so much for responding. I hope to be around a lot too!!! Every time I log onto the website and see that photo of Cathe in the purple and black workout outfit, I just can't believe her physique. She is amazing. I'm sure you guys are right...I'll end up buying all of the videos. But for right now, I plan on spending a few hundred with my mad money....So here's my list, and tell me what you think.

KickMax, Muscle Max, GS Legs, Core Max, KPC & LG, Boot Camp & ME, Terminator (what do you think of this one?) Power Max/MIS/Body Max, Leaner Legs, ABHits, and possibly SH legs(?). Am I duplicating workouts too much? Maybe this question should be on the DVD forum, but I put it here. I have Imax 2, C& W, Push/Pull, Supersets, Step Jump & Pump and a bunch of others taped from FitTv so I don't have to buy them too!!! And I HATE step. Used to do it 12 years ago, and now it's like I have 2 left feet. I don't have the patience for the learning curve....so I do kickboxing for cardio and my cardio machines instead. So ladies, tell me what you think....I'm ready to make that call...got my credit card ready!!! Thanks Janet

nice to meet you all!!!

Hi Janet and welcome! You will find that your non Cathe tapes are going to start collecting dust! Ha!

Enjoy your tapes and welcome to the forum! As an FYI, Cathe recently posted a "new to Cathe beginner's rotation."

Although you have workouts taped off FitTV, you'll want the originals, because there is stuff missing from the TV versions:)

Of the videos you listed, I would say the ones that I pick up and actually use the most are Muscle Max, KPC & LG, Bootcamp & ME, and GS Legs. I don't have Leaner Legs or the rest of the CTX series, but I hear it is great. I also started out only doing kickboxing and other cardio and stayed away from step, but I recently tried it and really like it. It definitely takes away some of the boredom factor from cardio workouts.

Welcome to Cathe!

Thanks Shelley...I figured there would be stuff missing from the Fittv versions, but of course I simply cannot afford to spend $500 on DVD's, as much as I would LOVE to!!! So I plan on buying my favorites, and then leaving the rest for another time. I also belong to a gym, but mainly to spin. I think the rest of the classes aren't any bargain, except for this one amazing spin instructor who teaches at 6am one day a week, one Saturday morning (you have to fight to get into his class) and boot camp once a week at 6am.

Welcome Janet!!

Do what I do...I just put Cathe on my wish list to make things easier for DH when shopping for my Bday, Christmas, Anniversary, VDay, and Mothers' Day!!
