Well........since noone started us off this week....thought I would. :D

I ordered Amy Bento's resistance band workout with resistance bands & am having it shipped to my NICU room. I am so full of muscle atropy from 8 + weeks of bedrest and now 11 days post delivery. I'm anxious to at least do some upper body workouts to strengthen my arms so I can take care of the girls!!!

Weight wise, I have no idea how I am doing b/c there are no scales here. The only thing I have to judge is my clothes...which are all elastic type & large shirts. I look pretty sloppy...but I just don't have anything to wear here. My edema is starting to improve though!!!

Good Morning!!!

Hi Melanie & crew!

Hope you ladies don't mind if I jump on in to your check-in! I'm about 17ish weeks along, and we just found out a few weeks ago that we're also having twins!:D:eek::D We have a 4-year-old boy & a 3-year-old girl at home, so we're excited (and overwhelmed!) to be rounding out our family with two more little ones. DH & I have been happily married for 7 years & live in UT, not too far from SLC & Park City.

Melanie, I totally sympathize with everything you are going through-- I dealt with preclampsia with both of my other pregnancies, and my last was especially difficult. I had horrible postpartum edema-- I weighed in more 5 days postpartum than I did at my final prenatal checkup!!!:confused::eek: I truly hope things continue to improve quickly for you!!! We are hoping that this pregnancy for us goes much smoother, even though my risk for developing it again is higher now. But so far, so good. In a lot of ways this pregnancy has been slightly easier than my last-- I'm just getting out of the horrible nausea/constant throwing up stage, which with my singletons lasted through 20 weeks. Yay! :)

I wasn't able to stay super active during the first trimester because I was so sick & fatigued, but have been able to get a little more so now. DH & I made it to the gym over the weekend (*happy dance*) so I was able to do a little incline walking on the TM and spent a little bit of time on the EXT as well. During the week I get pretty wiped out just from keeping up with my preschoolers, so I'm just taking things one day at a time. ;)

Well, I just wanted to pop in and say hi! I hope to try and post regularly, but I'm sure some weeks will be better than others. Best wishes to everyone & hope everyone has a good Monday!

Wow, congratulations Brighton! Another set of twins on here. :)

Melanie - Glad the edema is improving! When do you think the girls will be able to go home?

No news here. I have an ultrasound on Friday, so I'm looking forward to that. :)

Hi Brighton, welcome to the group. Wow! You will have your hnds full. I am hoping that this pregnancy is easier than your past two...
Liann- I am anxious for you to get great news and a great ultrasound this week! Keep us posted.
Melanie- Sounds like the NICU is going well and that you are doing well! The twins look great, I have beeen watchign their proggress on Facebook! Have you tried the SQUEEZE workouts? They are short and you can really work on upper boddy iff you choose that video. You need a medicine ball.. One thing I found that I had trouble with my son was knee pain after delivery. My body had retained a lot of fluid and ffor some reson it affected my knees. Have you had that? Hope you are thriving all week. What is the family going to do for Thanksgiving?
Jen- Sounds like you and James have found a rhythm, and that makes life so mucch easier. Everone has a sspecil way of making thing work, and I am impressed that you ffound it nice and early!
Susan- Hoping you and Kara got good sleep this weekend and that you are having a great Thanksgiving. I Haley going to make anything? That was my favorite as a kid. Jimmy is already talking about baking a pie with grandma tomorrow!
Allison- Have you tried a vibrating chair for Drew? It worked well for us when my son was collicky. We did try th rice cereal trick adn that never helped. Are you nursing ro formula? I switched bottles with him around a month or two to the Dr. Browns, and they were much better, but a pain to wash. Also, have you tried probiotics? A lot of pediatricians recommend them for colicky kids.
Wendy- Not sure if you check in here much anymore but saw that you are a colic mom too! Hope it gets better!
I am headed to the OB this morning. I am curious to see what is goign on down there. I have been having sharp cevical pains all weekend and major back pain. Could baby be moving south? I gained a lot of water weight this weekend. Goodbye wedding rings! We cleaned the house all weekend and set up the tree and decorations as well as the christmas village, wrapped all the gifts and are ready for the in laws tomorrow. I jusst want to have everythign done before baby, so I can be ready. especially if this one is colicky too! I tried nursing last time, not doing it this time. I know most of you nurse, but does anyone know if they supply formula and bottles at the hospital? I was not sure if I need to pack it. I always forget to ask my OB. I think they have it but will need to check. I had a hard time runnign this weekend. We did 7 miles on Saturdy and 4 on Sunday. I was sloww but I did it. I think I have to scale back this week. I miss my Cathe workouts so much! I hear songs on teh radio and they make me thing of my favorite videos! I startwanting to do pivots in Target!
Alright, offf to get dressed and get to the doctor, get final Thanksgiving groceries, and then take my son for a bike ride to the market for lunch. Happy day to all!

Welcome Brighton!! A twin pregnancy is so exciting! When did you find out?

Christine, I typically do not like weight training at all...but figure since I'm stuck in this hospital room, I would make the best out of it and use resistance bands. lol

I'm hopeful that we will be discharged by Thanksgiving. The girls have had a great day today...but they have a few more hurdles to jump thru. I am sooooooo homesick!!!

Amber, will be anxious to hear how your appt goes!

Melanie- I agree. It took me a long time to do any strength training and I resist it whenever I can! That is why I like itto be more fun! Goood luck! And glad you will all be home soon!

Hi ladies,

30 weeks since yesterday, so 10 more to go!!!! :D

Not much going on, just trying to get in some workouts and I noticed if I do them in the morning the chances of getting them done are a lot higher lol. Mostly I do a 30 - 45 minute walk on the treadmill and listen to my pregnancy podcast, I really enjoy it. I know I got to do some weights and I got some upper body workout in last week, so I am hoping for a lower one this week, we'll see.

I am very tired, but it's my own fault, going to bed earlier really would help :p.

Melanie - I am following your and your girls progress on your carepage and it looks like you are almost there. Hopefully you get to go home with the girls before Thanksgiving, that would be wonderful.

Christine - How far along are you? You are still running? Wow, impressive!

Liann - Yeah, your first ultrasound, how exciting!

Brighton - Welcome and congratulations!!! I hope that this pregnancy will go smoother for you than your last two!

Susan - How is little Ms. Kara doing?

Hi to everyone who folllows.

Trying to gear up for my morning workout ;).

BBL Kristine :)

Kristine- I am almost 38 weeks. As for running, it is slow. It is the one thing that makes me feel better. I can not do any other workouts lately, because my son does not nap till after 2 in the afternoon, and by then I need a nap more than a sweat! I am running slowly, though! My son likes it, although pushing 40 pounds plus a 22 pound stroller might be my upper body workout. I gained too much in my first pregnancy and was 200 pounds, losing that weight was so hard. So I have been more cautious this time around. I have also had a lot of stress with my husband gone and then moving and stuff, so it has been a relief to let my mind go while I exercise!
30 weeks, you are in the homestretch! Woo hoo!!!! Keep it up!:D

Miss Myranda was discharged this morning.....Miss Madalynn is geared for discharge tomorrow.

DH & the boys are headed down here & we're all excited to be home together (finally) tomorrow. It's been close to 3 months since I've been home. It's all so surreal to me!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hi everyone!

I have also been mia, DS has been out of school so we have been working on Christmas decorations and watching tons of Christmas movies!!

I had my 20 week appt yesterday at 21 weeks. We found out it is a GIRL! My DH is super excited and my DS who is 6 said well at least now you will have someone to play with!!

My official due date is April 8th but the dr said yesterday he would do the c-section 7 days prior, well his surgery day is Thursday so that would make my due date April 1st....not sure how I feel about that!!

Melanie - Soooo happy for you guys!!

Welcome Brighton...I also had preclampsia with my last pregnancy...I ended up in the hospital 23 days...so far I have been good but my bp was up a little yesterday, we are hoping it was just excitment!

Gobble gobble. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!! I know we did!!!

Tomorrow we take the girls to nurse practitioner in town here for labs & weigh in's for the girls. This was one of the stipulations we agreed to when we were discharged. On Monday the girls go meet their pediatrician. It's 2 hours away from the house, but important that the gals see a pediatrician since they were premature.

I've been up since about 530 or so......organizing the house. I finished the girls room, then went to the little boys room....and had to straighten that up. Then I tackled all the mail & boxes that came when I was gone, then put all my maternity clothes away (tugged at my heart a little, to know that I'll never be pg again *sigh*), and pretty much worked my tail off all day today. lol Feels good to be home.

Post recovery-wise, my abs are still sore & I'm bleeding heavy. I hope to relax a bit more tomorrow. DH didn't put the girls down all day!!! LOL Oh man, do I find "daddy-ness" so sexy in a man!!!

Yesterday I did Amy Bento's upper body band workout (just 10 minute workout). It's a start of a beautiful thing!!!

Amber~ I'm eagerly going to wait to hear of your appt tomorrow!!
Susan~ have things normalized more there?
Jen~ which workout are you going to do first?

Waves to all~ I"m off to nurse my gals!

Good Morning all,
Just wanted to check in on all of you. I haven't done so since you for several weeks (since you all welcomed me so kindly - sorry I"m such a slacker).

Congratulations on the Twin babies Melanie!

Denise
(26 weeks and so ready....)

Melanie - So glad to hear you are HOME!!! :) That's so cute about your DH! :) Congrats on your workout!

Kelli - Congratulations on the Girl!!! How exciting! :)

Susan - I'm sorry to hear about the family drama. Hope that resolves soon and that you still had a good Thanksgiving.

So, I had my appointment this morning! The baby looks great. Heart beat is 165 and he/she is measuring 3 cm. Here's a pic of the little peanut. We actually saw the baby waving its little hand at us!
