This is just up on their website. The indicate it is brand new and titled The Kettlebell Way. I put in my cart and the title then came up as Kettlebell Way Brooklyn. Anybody else going to purchase this?? I am on the fence but the info provided for the type of workout is very appealing to me.

I pre-ordered this several months ago. I just received it in the mail today. Can't wait to preview it. I haven't used my bells in a while but intend to start with them again for one full body work out per week next week. Perfect timing for getting a new work out!;)

ETA: Oh wait, my dvd is called "the kettlebell way volume 2: the empire state" so perhaps it's not the same as what you are describing. Sorry 'bout that!

I think it's the same workout -- they just switched the name. I pre-ordered awhile back, too, and hopefully mine will arrive soon. Wendy, will you let us know how you like it? :)

Leanne,

I'll be previewing soon but it's not on tap to be done until the end of next week. That being said, I sure will let you know what I think of it! :)

Sounds great, Wendy!:) I'm not scheduled to do my next KB workout until Sunday, so I'll try it out then. From their description, it sounds like it'll be really good!

I previewed it last night and holy moly!! This one looks like a goody. I can't wait to try it this weekend!

I thought Vol 1 was pretty balanced in terms of muscles worked, but this one is even more so. I think doing this and Vol 1 in the same week will be enough for me to have as my strength training while I'm training for my marathon, especially since they get my heart rate up as well, and my coach wants me to work on endurance.

I'm being greedy already and hoping they start developing concepts for Vol 3 ;).

I got mine yesterday, previewed all, and like what I see.

I really like Beth as an instructor with Tony (when I first saw that a soap star was leading a KB workout, I thought "oh no, not another one!" but she is a good instructor in her own right, and they have a good rapport.

Got mine Wednesday night and previewed it also.

I am looking forward to getting this one done!

I'm hoping that this is not like the kettlebell goddess workout which I just bought and previewed for the first time and do not like at all.

Did they have a special pre-order price like Cathe does? $50 seems like so much for one DVD - I just want to make sure it's worth it. I am currently using Lauren Brooks DVD and I like it. I have only been doing Kettlebells for about 3 weeks but I love them and want more DVD's. If anyone has any other recommendations please let me know! Thanks for any advice or info!! :):)

Oh my gosh. I just picked up my KB's for the first time in a looong time yesterday! All of this talk got me wanting to use them sooner so I did two 20 minute work outs I've had but never tried. I am SORE today!

Tracy, I have the KB Goddess work out and did not like it upon previewing either but have done it several times and it grew on me. That being said, you are not alone if you try it and do not like it. Apparently it's not one of the more popular vids. I like it because it has great options for creating your own work out or for targeting just upper or lower body w/o being beholden to only the short work outs Andrea does on the dvd.
As for KBW, it is nothing like that. Well, atleast the first one wasn't so I highly doubt the 2nd one will be. I've never heard a negative word about ANY of Anthony's work outs so I think you can breathe easy on this one. ;)

Thank you for the info Wendy. I will give the goddess workouts a try and hope that they grow on me too! Now I have to decide which one of the AOS DVD's to start with... I would love suggestions from anyone. I am an intermediate - advanced excerciser if that matters. Thanks!!

Tracy,
KBW2 is not like Goddess (which I also have, but have never been able to bring myself to do yet). It is more like Lauren's Brooks' workout (which I also have). In KBW2, each round has three, 1-minute exercises : one for upper body, one for core, and one for lower body. There is also a shorter "Manmaker" :)confused:) workout on the second DVD (which also contains a joint mobility segment---the same footage as in KBW1).

HTH!

I just got done doing this one for the first time, and it's great! Beth and Anthony mention in the Intro segment that it's designed to be a "bridge" workout to get people from Providence/KB Way Vol. 1 to Newport, and it definitely feels that way -- not as tough as Newport, but a bit more challenging than KB Way 1.

Did anyone else notice on the front cover that Beth is now certified as a kettlebell instructor? I thought that was neat.

Just chiming in with my 2 cents on the KB Goddess...I just did it for the first time today and don't looove it, but don't dislike it either. I think I'm a bit spoiled by Cathe's superb cuing, so I expect all instuctors to do it the Cathe way. I would love to see what Cathe would do with a KB workout!

What's nice about the KB Goddess is all of the variations possible. Today, I did a full body rotation and felt like doing more, so tacked on a lower body and then threw in a few swings and pushups for good measure. Another thing that I like is that each segment is relatively short (or so I understand, since I haven't done them all yet). This is nice for me because I've been unmotivated lately and can mentally commit to a short session only - but once I get started, it feels good, I'm having fun and then I want to continue.

I'm now chomping at the bit to get something from AOS and a Lauren Brooks since I keep hearing such good things about them both here.

Oh, and as for the Iron Core Way with Sarah Lurie - I think I read something here from someone who was less than impressed, but I have to say that I purchased Volume 1 from Target and it helped get me over the fear of hurting myself. It's really basic, but I could go slowly and really concentrate on my form...I felt it the next day too. I felt like it was $15 well spent (a single KB class runs between $10 to $25 a session in my area).

Gosh I'm lovin' the KB's!!!

I did this yesterday, and I agree it is great!!! I had forgotten I pre-ordered it, so it was a nice surprise to get it.

I noticed that on the front cover about Beth.

This is all very helpful information for me while trying to decide my next KB DVD purchase. Does anyone think it would be OK for me to skip Providence and get the new one since they are considering it a bridge to Newport? I am very comfortable with Lauren Brooks DVD and looking for something a little more advanced. And I will definitely have to give the KB Goddess a try now that I'm reading more about it here. I love all of the knowledge/experience sharing on this board! Thanks to everyone!

I am confused and know you ladies will set me straight. So Providence is also called KB Way Vol.1 or are they two different wo's? Finally is KB Way 2 the newest release (the one I referred to as Brooklyn in my earlier post)? I have Providence & Newport with KB Way in transit.
thanks

KBW vol 1 is a remake of Providence so yes, it's essentially the same the work out. I *THINK* the only difference in the work outs is that KBW vol 1 includes a tutorial on the exercises which Providence does not.

Yes, KBW volume 2 is one of the newest releases. I know the santa monica vid is new too. Not sure which came out first but KBW vol 2 was just released/shipped in the last week or so.

HTH

Okay, so if I have Providence and Newport, is the Empire State necessary? or should I look into Santa Monica as the next step? (in a few months..no where near ready yet!)
