Need Fat Free Butter Spread Suggestions

Hi everybody. I am trying to follow the Weight Watchers core plan. Without going into too much detail, I would like to find a fat free butter spread that is palatable, if there is such a thing. I have been trying the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter fat free, and it just nauseates me. Anybody have any suggestions? I love and have used for years the light, but I want to switch to fat free. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Thanks!

Kim

I don't know that you'll find a fat-free spread that doesn't taste gross. Why not just go with a lower-fat one that has no trans-fat? Brummel & Brown is really good. It's made with yogurt and has about half the fat and calories as regular spreads. There's no trans-fat, it's easy spread and pretty tasty. Just don't use a ton of it, I usually use about half of the serving size and that's just fine.

Have you tried the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray? It actually tastes somewhat like butter. It's not a spread but it can give the illusion that you're using butter.

Hope this helps.

I like that spray too and it seems like a certain number of "sprays" from it is considered 0 points, as I recall from WW.

I have also been using "Molly McButter" which is a powdered thing (in the spice section) and if you get it on while the food is moist and hot, it turns to liquid and tastes buttery. Works great on potatoes and cooked vegetables. I have not tried it on toast....I doubt if it would taste good that way.

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually do use Molly McButter or Butter Buds, and have used the ICBINB spray, but was looking for something to put on my toast. I guess I will spring for those measley points for the light on the toast!! lol

Hi, I use Soy Garden foun din most health food stores, Whole Foods, Kings etc. It is very tasty, non hydrogenated and of course soy based. I cannot tell the difference now when I cook with it or put it on veggies. Hope this helps. Lisa

You know I found when we went camping and I forgot the butter spread that making my toast and just sprinkling some parmesan cheese on it was good.

I've used the spray on toast instead of spread and like it.

The parmesan cheese is a great idea!

I like the Parkay spray. It has zero calories (thus zero fat) so I don't think it would have any points at all. I spray it on my toast and kashi waffles and it's really yummy!!! (also on steamed veggies)

i second going with a lower fat option rather than a fat free....a lot of those fat free spreads have hydrogenated oils in them - which in my opinion is worse than the fat. i guess i'd recomend moderation always and maybe using something else to spread on your toast or whatever.

good luck!!!
