I just received my new Cathe video "Body max" and realized (duh!) that I don't have a step????? Where is a good place to purchase a durable step?? I was looking on the web and saw a reebok step that seemed pretty nice but it was $80...a little much I thought?? Any suggestions....:-Hmmm

Thanks
Natalie

you can try looking on ebay, although that is far from a sure thing. You can try half.com.
Other sites to try:
www.fitnesswholesale.com
www.spriproducts.com
also on this site, Cathe has a list of web sites of retail online stores and sites to help us make informed choices. I think you can find the link off the home page somewhere.

I have both a Reebok step and a "The Step" step.

You should realize that "The Step" is slightly bigger (width and length).

I find the Reebok step easier to move around because it and its risers can be carried as a single unit. I also think the Reebok step is a little more stable but I've been using "The Step" lately because of its size.

Good luck!

I have bought two of the Step benches. I love the size but have been considering getting a Reebok step. I have had problems with the rubber grid bubbling up and coming loose. I bought my second one at Acadamy Sports. I bought one home and took it out of the box and the grid was already loose. I took it back and had them take the next one out so I could check it out. I have had it 6 months and it is doing the same thing that the first one I had did. The older one did last 1 1/2 years before problems though. They have a 3 month warranty on them. Just thought you might like to know when you purchase one. Could someone tell me how much smaller the Reebok Step is?
Thanks
Sue

Thank you so much for the information..... Does anyone know about this step toolbox from target I have saw people talking about on this forum???

As a first step, why don't you try the local newspaper classifieds to see if someone is selling one cheap, and try your local recycling centre. Put up an ad at your locaal rec centre and local gym, because you never know...

I picked one up at my local recycling centre for $7 last year and I was deliriously happy.

Good luck

Whatever you do DO NOT get the at home version of The Step. I purchased one of those, reluctant to spend 80 dollars on the "real" thing ( I have the "real" Step at work) and I am telling you, once you get it home, the thing looks like it is 10 inches long. I mean when you go side to side on the step, it feels like you don't even have to move. Plus, it is SO much flimsier. If you are stepping to Cathe, I would say make sure you get the longest and widest step they got. It makes a huge difference..in intensity and safety.....Janice

The rubbermaid step/toolbox you are referring to is 13-14 inches high - not suitable for stepping. But it is useful for leg presses, and many folks me included use it in place of a Firm tallbox or fannylifter. I also use it in place of Cathe's mintopper in some of her videos.

I got mine at Ace hardware for less than $20. It should be at Sears and places that have hardware sections. It is plastic, has a toolbox on top that opens up, and the rest looks like a stool (does that make sense?). There are threads on Video Fitness that give the item number for ordering if you need to.

Hi there,
I haven't posted here in a while. But I got "The Step" from sport authority for about $70 bucks. It is the longest and widest. They also sell the Reebok Step too about $80. Good luck!
