Natasha Richardson

I guess I don't often actually pray for celebrities, but I fell asleep last night praying for Natasha Richardson and her family. I was so sad to learn this morning that she had died -- it makes me sad for many reasons. I have twin DDs (15) who LOVED "The Parent Trap" in which Richardson played the mother of a young Lindsey Lohan (playing twins). Our family saw her mother Vanessa Redgrave on Broadway in summer '07 in "The Year of Magical Thinking" -- based on Joan Didion's book about the sudden death of her husband, the illness of their daughter (who ultimately died), and her grief and dislocation in the year following her husband's death. It strikes me as sadly ironic that Liam Neeson played a widower with a preteen stepson in "Love Actually." And I just recently watched Natasha Richardson this season on "Top Chef" hosting a charity benefit dinner -- so beautiful! It's just heartbreaking on so many levels. I agree with bjammin13 -- hug the ones you love; cherish each moment!

I usually don't follow celebrity news however this really affected me.I am a skiier and often ski @ Mont Tremblant where the accident occured. The poor family. My heart goes out to them. This is has sparked a big debate over whether helmets should become mandatory.
Take care
Chris

This is a tragic story and I have also been thinking about her sons and husband.

My son, husband and I ski. We all wear helmets.

A helmet may have helped save Natasha's life!

This is very tragic. I feel so sorry for all of them. I hope the media (and tabloids!) will respect the families privacy and leave them alone.
