my shoulders are made of.....

Anyone else find Disk 7 to be tougher then any of the earlier CBS workouts so far in the series?

I just finished Disk 7 and to answer Cathe's question, my shoulders are made of rubber (or at least they fell that way after the workout). I won't even mention what my chest feels like. WOW! Those drop sets were just plain evil. When I got to what I thought were the final 8 I had to go to "table top" style push ups. Then she said there was another 6. What are you nuts?!!!!

I almost just watched the final 21 after that, but I toughed it out and did them from my knees. I didn't count, but I know there were more then 100 push ups in that work out.

So much for my idea of "an easier" workout since the weight didn't go up. This was honestly the first disk that left me totally "Fried" (in a good way).

I can't remember because the memories of disc 10 are too fresh ;). Disc 10 is a little evil , that 5% increase, feels like a whole lot more and something about the mixture of exercises, well it was a tough one. I failed way earlier than Cathe and crew on a handful of exercises.

If it's any consolation, I felt your next workout, disc 8, went very smoothly and the time just flew by.

I just finished this disc awhile ago, & I also thought it felt harder. I think it's because some of the harder pushup sequences were interspersed throughout the workout rather than toward the beginning.
Also, I counted 182 pushups in this workout, which is more than in the previous ones:eek:! My arms definitely felt (& feel) like rubber, lol!

So what you guys are saying, is that it's a good thing the following week (after disk 10 that is) is a rest week? ;)

getting fit mom: Don't be too scared. The workout was very tough, but I was waiting for them to get tough, since the first two CBS workouts weren't as tough as I thought they would be. Not that they were easy mind you, but disk 7 really "got me". My DOMS have kicked in but not too bad, YET, considering I did 182 pushups. Thanks for counting Diane (personally I was too afraid to)!

disc 7 this morning ---- me too!!

I just did disc 7 this morning and OMG! My shoulders are so tired that writing and typing is difficult. I think it was all those dropsets at the beginning or those pushups again coupled with all the shoulder work... or it could have been the 21s... oh, it's all of it!

I was sucking wind on the pushups which I did all in the regular style (no straddle or staggered for me... and all on my knees. Towards the end during the pushup drop sets I could only do 8, 8, 0, and 6 (instead of 12, 10, 8, and 6 as Cathe and the crew does)! I think resting during that third set is the only reason I was able to do any of the exercises that followed.

Boy, I sure do fear disc 10 now after reading some of the replies!

Oh and I'm also glad that the DOMS from Friday's legs are mostly gone! I've just come to accept that Saturdays and Sundays are going to be painful! LOL!

I am shaking in my boots !!! I did disc 4 yesterday and my chest is screaming today. I feel like I had a bit more strength this time around but still a huge challenge.

I am lovin it!!!:D

That's EXACTLY what I'm saying !

I thought when we started this, that I would not be too happy with the rest, week... I was soooo very wrong ;). I went ahead and scheduled a mini vacation so I'm guaranteed to only do a few cardio workouts that week, and that's it!

Oh I know!
Although I loved disks 1,2 & 3 I didn't think they were that hard. Maybe I thought I was in better shape.
My tricepts are just feeling back to normal after disk 5.
I did 7 today and I am dying! I love it !

Exactly! I even dropped, literally, a couple of the weights and quickly picked up lighter ones in order to keep going. Afterwards I reminded myself I DO get next week off :D

Thanks for this thread. I felt totaly defeated by disk 10. I dropped weight and didn't finish many reps. Glad for a rest week. Thought I might do cardio after but that wasn't going to happen.

I had posted a thread a few days ago about how much harder disc 7 felt! Then along came disc 10 - I have prided myself in being able to do on my toes push-ups for all of the GS chest and tris workout...I was on my knees by the end of disc 10! The hardest still are the front shoulder presses with the barbell doing 21's. My arms literally give out - I cannot for the life of me make them go up do one more rep before the end. These are some tough workouts! They are getting harder - but still fun and loving the challenge! Nice to know we are all sharing in the pain together!

I have not got to 10 yet, but 7 was definitely harder than 1 or 4. I nearly cried at the thought of trying to lift my arms to wash my hair in the shower.

I did disc 7 last night and I agree it does seem harder than the first 2 of CBS. My shoulders and biceps are more sore today than they've been so far on STS.

You guys are scaring the crap out of me. I won't be doing disc 7 until Sunday and now I'm not sure if I want to. I'll report back (if I'm able).

I just did disc 10 last night and definitely went to failure before many of the pushup exercises, etc, and I went as heavy as possible on other stuff. I'm glad EVERYONE feels it was tough - I thought it was the toughest one yet!! I'll be ready for rest week too!!:p

After my leg workout Sunday, had the DOMS and can still feel my leg muscles from that, Bootcamp and Rhythmic Step this am! Tomorrow is Disc 11 back/triceps. I'm READY!!

It's so cool to have 41 new workouts! And, that AB disc is THE BOMB!

Good luck y'all - stretch, stretch- drink water....... ;)

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED disc 7. It was so fun!! At one point in the disc she asks how are your arms feeling? My response was along the lines of, "I'm supposed to be able to feel my arms?" They felt like they were going numb. It was great!! I couldn't do all of the pushups, of course (especially the straddle and staggered), but I do more every disc, so that's great. After reading the other posts, I'm a little nervous but very excited for disc 10. I love doing upper body (hate legs), so I'm looking forward to it!!

Disc 7

Just about did me in! I love pushups, but the 2 sets of 1.5's and then the 30 were pure torture. :mad:I'm hoping it will be a little better when I do it again next week. I barely eeked out the staggered pushups; the last 4 were not pretty. :(

I know this must have been posted, but I was wondering if Cathe ever did the workout as it was sequenced in the disc? (I realize she is doing it now, but when she created it.) It felt like one of those workouts that I create on paper when I'm fresh and then go to implement and realize it's much tougher than it looked.

I can't imagine what's in store with disc 10.
