My O My O Plyo Legs!!!!!

Cathe, do you have any idea how exciting those photos and descriptions of Meso #3 Plyo Legs are? The One-Legged Squat-Thrust Jump (picture A) is now my new screen saver!

The emphasis you have placed over the years on plyometrics within traditional cardio workouts has, I truly believe, been one of the key factors in my own profound improvements in fitness and power performance. To anticipate plyometrics within the context of absolute strength development is . . . well, my-o-my-o-my.

Thank you so much for always reaching for, and showing us what is, possible rather than predictable. As a soon-to-be 47-year-old, I know that, with your productions, my strongest days are still ahead of me.

Thank you too for refusing to pander to the Tone-It-Down Crowd. You're helping to rewrite the book on women's fitness at all ages.

A-Jock

(P.S. THANKS FOR THE AB CIRCUITS TOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!)

*i'm so shy*

I was doing good looking at the plyo legs til I saw the one legged squat thrust jumps. My 1st thought was "let me read that again, it can't be right" The 2nd thought "oh, crud, it IS right!!!"

I will be off whimpering in the corner if anyone needs me,
Nan

The athlete in my got really excited about plyo legs!}( But realistically, I have been pounding the bod for so many years I got arthritis in my hip so bad I had it replaced, so will have to *sigh* modify some of these moves. Plus, now my knees really take it, even after Imax 2, and I am only 41!
You guys are lucky you do not have joint issues! Plyo on ladies.;)

I think there needs to be an additional Cathe product: a plyo board!

I've seen smallish ones in catalogs--plywood on a series of foam-looking 'cubes', looks much like the side shot of the workout floor at Cathe's gym that Heather posted--but a nice, foldable one that unflods to about 3 feet each way would be great.

I couldn't agree more, A-Jock. LOVE the advanced, no-nonsense approach Ms. Friedrich takes (and she somehow manages to make tough-tough-tough workouts fun!)

I was uber pumped when I saw the newest blog pics. I've read so many great things about plyometrics improving endurance and overall health.

For me, all 3 Imax workouts, Kick Max's Blast Challenge, Boot Camp's cardio, 4-Day Split's Boot Camp, and several other Cathe cardios containing plyometrics have helped my tuck jumps get higher and my suicides get faster. I can't wait to see what slower, more controlled plyos (and even weighted plyo work!!) will do for my bod.

Thank you so much, Cathe, for STS!!!!!

Bring it on!!

A-Jock,

I'm another one that totally agrees with you!!!!

Thanks sooo much Cathe!!! I'm soooo excited for this series!

Joanne

P.S. A-Jock-you shy??? You're so funny!

Love the Plyo pictures too!!

What do you all think of the sit and jumps?

I still cry when I do sit and stands! Now there is a one leg version.

And now plyo on one leg..... eeeeek!!!

Brigitte:)

Another happy camper here! I am so unbelievably excited about this series. It can't get here fast enough!

A-Jock, as another soon-to-be 47-year-old (July 1), I completely agree with everything you said! Cathe has taken me far beyond the fitness level I was at 10 years ago, and I was pretty strong then. She's helped me dig out a mental toughness & determination that I didn't know I had.

Onwards and upwards!

I am hoping that my results won't be skewed if I completely modify the Plyo moves. I just can not do them! My weight issues (overweight) and heel and knee pain just don't allow for them. I can't do the Imax's either...I just modify!

I am ultra-excited for all of the weight work though! I love the look and feel I am getting from weights.

I second that! I'm one who has to occasionally modify to accomodate my aging joints, but I'd rather do that than have Cathe make her workouts easier.

The more I see of STS, I'm thinking it's one of the best $200 I've ever spent.

I usually do many of the plyo moves in Cathe's DVDs on my rebounder. Does doing them on the rebounder decrease the effective of the Plyos in buiding strength and explosive power?

Hi A-Jock! Yes, the plyo leg routine was one of our favorites. Just warm up and hop til you drop....LOL Seriously though, I included a nice long warm up plus I made the first few drills a little less intense to continue to warm up the body. All the plyometric moves are slow and controlled and easy to be modified if desired. You get what you put into it, and knowing you A-Jock, you will be standing in a puddle of lovely sweat :7 Way to go!
