Janie I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I totally understand not being sure if you did the 'right' thing. My dog is 13 yrs old, and he too has a tumor on his liver. I have debated surgery but I finally decided not to put him through that because of his age and other issues. I too worry about doing the right thing; but I think as long as we have the pet's best interest in mind, regardless of the outcome, we are doing the right thing.

Thank you, ALL, for your wonderful words of comfort. I am really glad now I shared my grief with you. In a way it helps to know you have the same love for God's special little animals. I'm sorry for all the loses you have experienced, too. Tears are making it hard to see right now, I'll try to share more later.
