My February Rotations

A new month, a new fitness regime -- although I must say I don't vary this very much. My target is to exercise in such a way as to stimulate the growth hormone naturally. Since I'm in my 50's this is important to me. It means intensity in exercise in both strength and cardio. But I love it.

Monday: January 31st -- did IMAX the original -- this one really challenged me -- I'm still getting over a bout of food poisoning.

Tuesday: Power Hour -- I'd love to do ME, but I favor that workout so much that I'm forcing myself to do a different strength workout

Wednesday: A short cardio tape -- I might try one of my new Timesaver workouts, cardio only. Then stretch with a new tape from Karen Voight.

Thursday: ME -- gotta get that one in there this week

Friday: Sprints outside or IMAX2

Saturday: Circuit Max or another circuit tape -- maybe a Tae Bo, as I love his workouts for my waist -- I just need to make sure that I don't again throw out my hip if I do a Tae Bo.

Sunday: off

Again, my stress is on intensity in strength and anaerobics and plyometrics -- as well as endurance with two days of straight cardio.

Diet wise -- eat lo carb. I have found, however, that some sort of carb (fruit or veggie drink) before exercising helps my performance in anaerobics. Interesting...

Hi Karen!

I think I might join with the Februay journal here too, but I'll keep popping in on yours too!

I recently went back to close to induction because my blood sugars were all over the place again. I would find that working out in the middle of the day, suddenly I would be shaky in the middle of the workout. (noodle legs) I've leveled back out and yesterday I had some beef jerky about 1 hour before my workout. I only had a little hitch in yesterday's workout, but it was almost at the end (I did the Firm's Super Cardio) and wasn't too bad, didn't last very long. Okay, over to my own rotation!

Don't work too hard.

Hi Rhea,

I noticed you posting your rotation -- hope you don't mind that I joined you there. I think you really have a good rotation planned there.

Yeah, the induction should get you back to normal again. I have to watch my blood sugar levels, too. I noticed that carbs creeped back into my diet over the holidays -- not real sugar, as I really have given that up -- but real carbs -- like wheat and stuff, and so I noticed a difference, too, and cut back to my lo carb diet again.

Luckily it doesn't seem to take much to get the body back on track again. I posted over at WHFN that there's this great new book that I got on living with lo carb diets -- he has some terrific tips on really making it work. I'm still in the middle of it, though.

Anyway, workout wise, I did Power Hour today. That's a really good workout, though I do like ME better. But boy, do you work on Power Hour. The muscles in my arms were shaking for about an hour afterwards...

Tomorrow is my cardio, stretch day. I'm really looking forward to it -- think I'll do one of my new TimeSavers cardio only, and then stretch.

Anyway, have a good one.:7

Karen,

Don't mind the posting at all! Love all the input, especially the great books you read. I have to slow down on the books since I am just not getting them all read. Right now I'm reading "The Anti-inflammation Zone (Dr. Sears), Biomarkers, the Gospel of Mary Magdalene....hmm I think that's all...oh yah, I'm listening to a Shakti Gawain book in the car....the one on listening to your intuition and improving how to hear it.

Okay, I must get to work.....

Hi Rhea,

Gosh, this so much sounds like me. I'm always reading something. This book, Living the Low Carb Life, is the latest. But like you, I'm ususally reading 2-3 books at once, and also listening to tapes in the car...

Love it!

Oh, I also love the Zone and Barry Spears. I think he's a genuis, actually. He's the one who has written things about diet and what kind of eating seems to give longevity, etc. Interesting stuff. I have his Soy Zone book, as well.

Anyway, a little bit of rotation diary here.

Yesterday, because I went with my daughter to jury duty, I didn't have time to do the stretch tape. I did, however, do the cardio section of TimeSaver (at 6 AM in the morning) -- the first one -- and the stretch at the end. I didn't do the weight work as I was still sore from weights from Power Hour from the previous day.

I think I have ME on my schedule today. Yea! I can't say enough about that workout. I simply adore it. On Sunday, I'll try to add in the stretch -- although Sunday's are hard. It's my day off and usually the day when I don't think of exercise. But stretching would be good.

For a good cardio workout, though, in fast time, I think the first section of Body Max is my favorite so far. But I'll have to do the rest of Timesaver to have a better opinion.

Well, hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work I go. Whistle. Hi-ho, hi-ho. :7

Hi Karen!!

Do you have Cardio & Weights on DVD? I just, well finally actually, checked out the premixes and there is a Cardio only section. That's what I added on to my PUB yesterday. I didn't do the whole thing, but did the warm-up, and first two sections. It was just about right.

Well, gotta run to eat lunch before Spanish class...talk to you later. Have a great day!

Hi Rhea,

Actually I have C&W tape -- I'm beginning to see the advantage of having these things in DVD -- all the premixes and such. From here on out, I think I'll buy the DVD's.

Spanish class -- what fun, and a good thing to know here in California. Maybe once I'm finished with the course I'm taking now, I should consider that.

Anyway, rotation wise, I'm planning IMAX2 today.

Did Muscle Endurance yesterday -- one of my favorite tapes -- and loved it. I think IMAX2 and ME go well together on alternate days.

Plan on doing a circuit workout tomorrow, but not sure which one yet.

Have a terrific day!:7

Karen Kay - Thank you so much for all your help and sorry it has been so long between posts for me, after asking my original question I came down with bronchitis and haven't been on much this week. I did order the book and came to look at your plan - I like it very much - thank you so much!

Hi Kathy,

Oh, my gosh. I hope you're better soon. Are you taking things like colostrum, or olive leaf extract or garlic? Colostrum is mother's milk (from cows) and is the first milk that a mammal gives to her newborn -- it's filled with immune boosting properties and can sometimes help to wipe out a cold and that sort of thing fairly quickly. Olive leaf is a natural anti-biotic -- and being a natural anti-biotic, it doesn't kill the good intestinal bacteria along with the bad. And garlic is another natural anti-biotic -- when my kids were young, it was the only thing I knew that worked, and so I'd give them garlic when they had colds and such.

Anyway, it's nice to see you here. You will love the book. I had to read it twice through before I understood it well enough to adapt it to my workouts, but it really takes you through the different levels of fitness and helps you understand what goes into a rotation -- basically it puts you in the driver's seat.

I really hope you have fun with it.

Oh, I'll just mention here that I'm doing some sort of cardio/circuit workout tomorrow. Circuit Max is my favorite and I might reach for that -- or maybe a shorter one, depending on my time.

Have a terrific weekend.:7

Hi everyone,

I've missed posting here and glad to be back. I was really sick with a cold early last week and then went on a ski trip on Thursday and got back last evening. Thought I would try to start the February rotation today. Anyone else here doing Cathe's posted Feb rotation?

Natalie

Hi Natalie, Karen and Kathy!

Hope you are feeling better. Natalie I am sort of doing Cathe's February rotation. I didn't start until this Saturday and ended up switching Body Max with Step, Jump and Pump and then taking a darn extra day off. Plus I have the Hardcore series coming and won't be able to wait a month before using them!! I started my own rotation thread so I wouldn't take up all Karen's space....feel free to visit. I still yak on here too. :D

Karen, hope you are not working too hard. Do you have cardio max on dvd?

Hi Rhea, Natalie & Kathy & Jeanie, (if you happen to come by),

It's good to see you all here. I'm really glad, Natalie, that you're feeling better. It's no fun being sick -- it means you can't workout as much...

I'm not doing Cathe's February rotation, mostly because I need the intensity of the IMAX's about twice a week. Although this week I'm going to rotate the TimeSaver DVD. I have a couple of chats and an interview coming up this week, and so my time will be a little pressed.

Did the TimeSaver #2 workout today -- it had some intensity blasts, which I'm happy for.:) And strength workout was good, but I'm used to so much more nowadays -- but this is great for those weeks where I just don't have a lot of time.

Rhea, do you mean the Maximum Intensity cardio? I do have that -- but I don't have the cardio max DVD. I'm really (when I have some extra cash) going to have to invest in more Cathe DVD's.

Anyway, for this week I plan:

Monday: TimeSaver #2 workout

Tuesday: TimeSaver #3 workout

Wednesday: TimeSaver #1 workout

Thursday: TimeSaver #4 workout

Friday: TimeSaver #5 workout

Saturday: IMAX2 or 3 if I have it by then

Sunday: Muscle Endurance (can't seem to go a week without that workout -- my fav)

Already did TimeSaver #2 and it was good -- I'm going to need to get that ball, aren't I? I did modifications of the abs, cause they were all with the ball.:+

Have a terrific day.:7

Today I have the TimeSaver workout #3 planned.

Must admit that my body is aching for more intensity. Yesterday when Cathe did a little bit of intensity, when it was over, my body was going...that's all???

Just so busy this week...

Can't wait to get back to hour long workouts -- but I'm so glad I have this DVD for weeks like this one...:p

Well, gotta get to work. Rhea or Wendy or Jeanie, if you stop by, have a terrific day.:)

Karen,

Just think of how intense you can go when you do have more time! Your body will be raring to go.

Hi Rhea! Hi Natalie!

Yes, I'm really glad that I got this DVD. I knew it would come in handy -- I just have some weeks where I don't have much time.

It's nice to see you here, Natalie -- haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is well, and your workouts are great.

Tomorrow I have TimeSaver #1 workout planned -- it's my most intense day -- so I saved the shortest workout in the series for the intense schedule day.

I am really enjoying these. I'm going to have to get that ball, though.:+

Have a good day of workouts.

Hi Karen Kay, Rhea & Natalie!

I get to "chat" with Rhea all the time over at the WHFN board, but I miss you Karen Kay & Natalie!

Karen Kay, I did Muscle Endurance last night and thought of you the whole time. I went very heavy and was almost (almost....) cursing my beloved Cathe. Wow, what a workout! I was so played out that I could hardly finish the ab section.

Natalie, did you order any of the Hardcores yet? I haven't taken the plunge yet, but LowMax really is tempting me.

Have a great day ladies!

Hi Jeanie,

Thanks so much for coming over and saying "hi." I'm going to try to make it over to the site -- Rhea told me about Andrea having to put down Mose. Oh my gosh. I have six cats -- I can only imagine...

This is a very intense week for me schedule wise. I'm almost finished with my course and so am wanting to put in extra time -- but I also have work and today had a radio interview. But need to hop on over to FitPrime or the new WHFN and say something to Andrea.

Don't you just love ME? Thanks for thinking of me. I'm going heavier on it than I've ever gone on any exercise -- but I can't even approach Cathe's weights. Still, I simply adore the workout. I think Cathe and her comments are so cute and I'm beginning to see results in my muscles, as well.:)

Anyway, I'm supposed to do a TimeSaver -- #4 -- tomorrow -- but I'm really missing my intensity and am seriously thinking of doing IMAX2. Hmmmm....

Well, off to WHFN.

Hi Jeanie,

A short message. Went to WHFN to say something to Andrea, but ended up sending her a private message about Mose. But over there, I saw your picture. You are so pretty. Very, very pretty.

Thought I'd let you know. I kinda felt weird going to the forum -- guess I've been so lax in chatting with everyone that Lita doesn't list me with the others anymore -- can't say that I blame her -- I just haven't kept up with everything. Plus, I sometimes have trouble logging on and have to actually shut my computer down before I can log onto the site.:+

Anyway, just wanted to tell you how pretty you are.

Have a great evening.:)
