most romantic song of all time...

Van Morrison, Crazy Love.

Oh, and Wonderful Tonight. An old sweetheart with a lovely voice once sang that to me without music while I got dressed to go out, fixed my hair, put on my makeup. It still makes my heart go pitty pat when I hear it. Terrible boyfriend, but a very romantic moment.

Magnet and Steel - Walter Egan
Too Much Heaven - Bee Gees
Love So Right - Bee Gees
Songbird - Christine McVee

I like "Close to You" by Maxi Priest. It's an older song, but I remember dancing with this guy at a club way back when, and it was a great song to get close to someone with.

"Hungry Eyes" by Eric Carmen

There was also a song by the group, Bread, about how "if a picture paints a thousand words, then why can't I paint"...and if the world stopped spinning, "I'd spend the end with you, and when the world was gone, you and I would slooow-lyyy flyyyy awaaaaayy." I can hear the song, but I can't think of the name.

Miracles by Jefferson Airplane--ok a little on the naughty side but still

Thank you by Dido

Crazy by Dave Matthews
Crush by Dave Matthews

Your Body is a Wonderland by John Mayer

"I'll Be" by Edwin McCain was the song we danced to at our wedding.

The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful
Stop me and steal my breath
Emeralds from mountains thrust towards the sky
Never revealing their depth

Tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
I'll be captivated, I'll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above

I'll be your cryin' shoulder
I'll be love suicide
I'll be better when I'm older
I'll be the greatest fan of your life

Rain falls angry on the tin roof
As we lie awake in my bed
You're my survival, you're my living proof
My love is alive and not dead

Tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
I'll be captivated, I'll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above

I'll be your cryin' shoulder
I'll be love suicide
I'll be better when I'm older
I'll be the greatest fan of your life

I've dropped out, burned up, fought my way back from the dead
Tuned in, turned on, remembered the things you said

I'll be your cryin' shoulder
I'll be love suicide
I'll be better when I'm older
I'll be the greatest fan of your life

Beautiful Maria of My Soul by Los Lobos (If you don't know the lyrics, here it is)

In the sunlight of your smile
In the summer of our life
In the magic of love
Storms above scattered away

Lovers dreaming in the night
Reaching for Paradise
But as the dark shadows fade
Love slips away

On an empty stretch of beach
In the pattern of the waves
Drawing pictures with my hand
In the sand, I see your face

Skipping pebbles on the sea
Wishing for Paradise
Sand castles crumble below
The restless tides ebb and flow
Listening to a shell
Hoping for your voice
Beautiful Maria of my soul

Though we'll always be apart
Locked forever in a dream
If I ever love again
Even then, nothing will change

And the taste of you remains
Clinging to Paradise
But as the distance from you grows
All that my heart ever knows
Hunger for your kiss
Longing for your touch
Beautiful Maria of my soul

Filling all my nights
Haunting all my days
Beautiful Maria of my soul.

I can't think of any right now.

I don't know if it would count as romantic but I do love Music of the Night, All I Ask of You from The Phantom of the Opera and I do love operas. I can't think right now. Kids are making too much noise at the moment.

Wutheri and Icklemoley,
We have the same music tastes...I didn't even see your posts before I posted. I love all Van, another good one that used to be one for me and an ex by Van was "And it Stoned Me"

Aila I was thinking Eric Clapton too, except the song is "Let it Grow." I get teary eyed every time I hear it.

Oh, and "Last Worthless Evening" by Don Henley.

And I almost forgot--"Jersey Girl" by Bruce. Gotta love Bruce.

Darling Nicki by prince :+
I want to Sex you Up by Color me Bad :+
Oo, oo! Erotica by Madonna!
Ok, I'm just being silly, sorry. There's more out there that I can think of, but those are just off the top of my head.

Ok, I can't think of any serious songs right now, but I know that there are some out there.

Ok here I go. Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers. Now I feel really old. We always have to dance to this one. It is just like my hubby and I look at each other and think ohhh, got to dance. Ok, There are many new songs too. This is just one that comes to mind. It is a good cuddle song for us:) We go dancing quite a bit so there are quite a lot of others.

This is funny because I asked my hubby this question and he said that is easy, Righteous Brothers. So that tells you where we are
