Monday's "Melterama"!

Allie, hugs to you. I know how you feel. I'm feeling post RT blues and I wasn't even there!

I'm outta here for the day ladies. Off to pick blueberries in the wilds of northern PA. See you all later.

Gosh, golly, where is everyone today? Allie, I'm sorry you're feeling down! I think that's a pretty reasonable response to such an amazing weekend. Sending {{{hugs}}} your way!

Robin - enjoy picking blueberries!

I need a nap.

Thanks to everyone who gave me their addresses! Now please do not be shy, and let me know when you start to get low on product, remember, I get the stuff for free, and love to shower my melty friends with lovely things!:D
BG and Pegster, sending your stuff out today. As the others can attest, the products work pretty darn good!

Hugs to Alli, ahh...sorry chica, but just revel in the fact you got to go, had a blast, and before you know it, next year's RT will be here right?:D

OK, not AGAIN! Uh, sorry I just yelled, but my lovely (not!) housekeepers who I have not seen in over two weeks, just arrived, looked at me and said the following..."Isn't there sunshine in San Diego? Because you don't look tan anymore!' You look white". Nice huh? Well at least they didn't comment on the size of my arse...sheesh, I have had with these lazy arse women and their snarky comments.

I swear....as soon as we get back to Vegas for awhile I am looking for someone else like Merry Maids, then I will do the majority of the cleaning, just so I do not have to deal with this baloney.

Sorry, I just get my feelings hurt really easy, and am sick of people "offering" their stupid, hurtful comments. Maybe I am taking stuff too personal though, I do that you know!;)

Hello everyone. Boy, I really disappeared lately, huh? At least I had a good reason while I was away in the Catskills. Then today I’ve just been rather busy. This morning we went to the mall. I went to the sporting goods store and got a Polar F6 because I felt I wanted a little better HRM. Then of course I had to shop around some more and ended up getting a swimsuit and a couple shirts. I was tempted by one of those pink special edition steps, but slapped my hand away when I was tempted to reach for it. My current step is still in excellent condition and I don’t have any double-step videos. Then we went to Target, where I had to return some stuff (and of course pick up a few things). Ewan was in the stroller rather than in a cart, so that helped limit me from going too crazy—I could only get what would fit around the stroller. Then we went to Toys-r-Us because Target didn’t have any kid easels. I found a great wooden easel for Isaac’s birthday (unfortunately it won’t be a surprise for him since he was with me) and then we roamed around picking up way too much stuff (and putting some back). I even roamed the Barbie aisles for myself but figured my sister or my best friend would get me a Barbie for my birthday (I sort of collect them but not obsessively).

OK, that was way too much shopping description, but at least I didn’t mention every item I bought (believe it or not). Then when I got home I found my new cell phone in a box on my doorstep. Woo-hoo! So since returning home, I’ve had to put away the shopping, feed the boys, get Ewan down for a nap, activate and play with the new phone (an LG Chocolate in Black Cherry), do laundry, clean the kitchen, blah blah blah. I haven’t even had a chance to play with the new HRM yet. I also tried on all the possible workout outfits for the RT and hung up the best ones in the closet in a little row. I will still have to pick out the other clothes, of course.

Do I even need to say that today is turning out to be a rest day? At least I got a lot of exercise on our trip (walking, hiking, swimming). I’m still pretty sore—for some reason my ankles are sore, which is always annoying—stupid weak ankles.

Since I’ve written such a novel just about today, I’ll save vacation descriptions for later and get on to trying to do some personals.

Deb – sounds like it’s hot where you are. We are actually slightly cooler here today. And it was soooo nice and cool in the mountains (even chilly sometimes). I started with a 15 lb KB and then went back for a 10 lb one. I’m such a wimp. I found I could generally use a 15 lb for most things, but there were 3 sets of circuits on my DVD so I would use 10lb for at least one set and then go up to 15. I ahven’t even tried the Turkish Get Ups yet because I’m still working on the easier DVD (I have Kettlebells the Iron Core Way Vol. 1 and 2, but only do #1 so far).

Robin – enjoy the blueberry picking! Yum, I love blueberries. Congrats on the weight loss! I am still kind of holding steady at 15 lbs heavier than I was last year at this time. :(

Shelley – I’m sorry to hear about your sister’s bad news. That sucks. I wish I could do something to give you or her comfort or help. All I can do is send (((HUGS))) your way again.

Tneah – wow, that is a big honkin’ boat! At least you will have more room on it. I guess in a way you will be more settled living just on a boat instead of going back and forth—on the other hand boats can travel. :) Man, your maids have serious attitude! Do they get tipped at all? Because they should have any tips lowered for those crappy comments. I imagine your skin is beautiful and a great color—those chicks are just jealous because you are hawt!

Leanne – thanks for the oatmeal tip—I’ll have to see if they have that around here. I love oatmeal.

Kristi – glad you had such a great time. I CAN’T WAIT for my turn. I haven’t looked at the latest set of pics and I can’t decide if I want to or if I want to wait until after my own RT. Hmm. I also am curious about what you RTers heard that we can’t know yet, but I do kind of want to be surprised. Oh, it’s tough being the second set of RTers!

Kara – good workouts this morning! You go, girl!

Allie – Oh, girlie, don’t be sad! Think about all the pics you can look at and remember the good times. You are too young to feel that way—think about how many RTs you have to look forward to in the future!

Wow, sorry if this is insanely long....

Hey ladies. I have been super busy with annoying stuff and have to take Colin out driving in a bit. Yikes. I wanted to get in a few personals though!

Allie—It is great that you had such fun! Don’t worry about being down. I will probably experience the same thing. You look great in all of the pics I have seen. You are very photogenic!

Robin—I am so jealous that you get to go blueberry picking! We missed it due to the &%(&%^ remodeling. Boo. My DH and I have used those whitening strips and have had good luck. How is the straw thing going? I don’t know if I could do that. Might try though…

Shelley—Want another 10 year old? I’ll send her to ya for FREE. Really. Colin and Emma argue quite a bit. I thought having them 5 years apart would help, but it didn’t. Emma knows just how to annoy the crap out of Colin and being male, he always falls for it. He is just beginning to understand the manipulation and turn it back on her. This leads to many fun times…It si really nice to see you posting more. I missed you!

Lainie—It sounds like you had a successful shopping day. I got to go to Sam’s Club. Wahoo. Sorry about your ankles. Is there anything you can do to strengthen the area (if you haven’t already)? Can’t wait to hear about your weekend in the mountains! I also am really looking forward to meeting you in a couple of weeks!

Tneah—Those maids deserve to be whapped upside the head. My goodness! They need to show you respect. I can only imagine how envious they are of you. Don’t waste one second on them! I am as pasty as they come and am sure your porcelain, perfect complexion irritates them to no end. Man, that is one big arse boat! How fun. I bet DH is excited!

Deb—Those turkish-getups are tough. I got the form down using no weight, only holding onto a glove. Then I used an 8 lb. dumbbell. I am still only up to a 15 lb. KB for them. One day it just kind of clicked for me. Have fun exploring the world of KBs!

Breckie—Hi, where are you???

Leanne- I am getting so excited to meet you! How was the hot sand dunes guy? Doesn’t he have an awesome physique? Wow. Sorry about the BIL being a brat yesterday. I hope he finds a place soon. He needs to be on his own! Thanks for the oatmeal recommendation. I may have to try that. I am completely addicted to oatmeal. I love it!!! Ever try it with pumpkin? Yummy!

Peggie—Hey there! I just noticed your picture trail and am amazed by how beautiful your home is…amazing! I can’t wait to get to know you better. Oh, and you are making it REALLY hard to not buy that KB workout! Did you get cardio in at lunch? Hope work went well!

Alrighty, I am off to teach Colin how to drive. Oh man, you might want to pray or send positive thoughts for me…

Hello kittens --

I just got through all the posts. Holy crap you guys have been busy today.

Shelley - So, so sorry about your sister. That really sucks. Know that I am thinking about you and praying for her.

Allie - poor little kitten. Don't be sad. I am sure that is a normal reaction. I already took the Monday off after the RT because my plane doesn't even get in until 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. No way would I be able to get up for work.

Tneah - You are the sweetest thing. Fu@* those cleaning people. The KB workout with Lauren is cardio. There were plenty of times I had my heart rate 90 percent of max. It is hard, but it is so fun. I burned close to 500 calories in 45 minutes. I think it depends on the KB size too.

Leanne - I want that oatmeal. I am going to have to search for it. I might even have to check online. I get a lot of things online. I think the DVD was $39, but I can go check my paypal account and let you know for sure.

Kara - thanks for the compliment on our house. We had it built and moved into it in 2001. My dad died in 2000 and I always regret that he did not get to see it. It is so peaceful out here and he would have loved it. We sit on 2.5 acres and are about 10 miles out of town, so it is perfect. I had a date with Coach Sean at 4 p.m. I took my lunch then and got really sweaty. He's hot.

Breckie - come out and plaay-yay. Does anyone remember that from the move The Warriors. (Warriors come out and plaaay - yay).

Robin - MMMMMMM blueberries. I heart blueberries.

Shannon - Hi

Lainie - sounds like your trip was fun. Sounds like shopping might have been fun too. I still have not decided what clothes I am taking to the RT. I think I will have to do that this weekend. That will be my plan.

Kristi - I'm glad you had so much fun. I saw you in some pictures and you look so pretty. I saw some other pictures, the ones Tneah was talking about, and it looked like someone fell off the step. That would be something I would do. I hope she was okay.

Okay, time to go find something to eat. Sorry if I missed anyone.

BBL

So I bought all the CCs. I included just a little small and succinct (yes, me) note of appreciation. I got an immediate response from Coach Sean. I’m pretty sure that means he wants me. Crazy thing – he used to live not too far away from where I am! He definitely wants me.

Hey Deb – here ya go! This is me, in my lead apron and collar! Look how purty I am. (ok dang, it put it at the bottom - oh well, at least I got it here...) Glad you got your KB!!! Let us know what you think as you get into it!

Tneah – that IS big. But you deserve all the best – you have worked hard, sacrificed – and have demonstrated unbelievable generosity and kindness! You deserve the absolute best, honey! I’m beyond happy for you!!! Screw those housekeepers. Well, not literally.

Robin – Deb has a great point about the blueberries. Any berries, for that matter, are staining. Coffee, sodas, wine, curries, tomato sauces – all that stuff. Sucks… but true. But your teeth don’t look dingy to me. YAYYY on the melting! Do you use a little basket to pick blueberries? I’m smiling. Do you skip just a little?

Lainie – Yahhooo – you’re back! You are so busy – I get tired just reading about all you’ve done. How do you do it, anyway? Sorry about those ankles.

Kara – you crack me up, honey. How did the driving lesson go? Did you pluck out each and every one of your eyelashes? Are you guzzling wine directly out of the bottle now?

Peggie doll – You are a funny funny chick. Wish I was coming to meet you guys at the RT. Well, sorta. I mean, I want to meet you guys, but the thought of a RT scares me. Holy fat burning – 500 cals in 45 min? You are a rock star! How did the salads turn out?

Leanne – I mix my oats with Lean Dessert too… will have to give your Costco version a go. Sounds yummy! How's kicks? Any lunching/coffee lately? You must be busy today. Hope that means you're busy kicking BIL out.

Shellers – ((((((HUGS)))))) to you, my buddy. You can read my mind, no? I’m not pregnant either.

Kristi – glad you’re back! Even more glad you had such a great time! Can’t wait to see more pics. Hope you have an easy time settling back into “life”. I want the “goods” too! I’m not going on a RT. Somebody tell me some secrets!

Allie – sorry about your post-RT letdown. This too shall pass. Dang, sometimes don’t you get tired of hearing that? Well, in any event – it’s true. (((((HUGS)))))) to you. You are one lean leg machine!

Hugs and love to all of you!

BG,girl you are a total scream!:D:D:D:D Yep, I just used up all my smileys for BG! Loving you in your lead apron! You are sooo funny, cannot imagine how you would have a hard time around folks, you are like a stand up comedian, but yeah, I totally get it--I looked at the RT pics with a combination of longing and total fear of large crowds!

Tense times round these parts, we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed our boat deal goes through...the inspectors are onboard right now, picking everything apart....eek. But hey, if its meant to be ours it will be, thats just the way it is darn it.

So I can't wait to get back to SD guys, it is driving me nuts here, between the maids and our lovely houseguest who is staying here while we are gone--he is still staying here while we are here this week BTW, and it is weird, and uncomfortable, Leanne I can understand now, although this guy has it on the ball, is a premed student and does odds and ends around the house and is a friend...but still, having someone here all the time...you know.

Lainiebug, I would be tired too if I were you! Let me take those little munchy-kins off your hands for a day and let you relax a bit!

Kara, Oh dear god, I remember learning to drive in an old GMC stick pickup truck. My dad yelled at me the whole time, but I bet you were alot kinder and a much better teacher...LOL at BG's description of you guzzling from a bottle of vino just to make it through!

Pegster, Whoa, thats alot a pita chips you burned through chica! I need that workout, I do, I do.

OK, I did a Spinerval workout and the floorwork and abs from B&G's...might take an extra walkie on my treadmill tonight "just because". Not as active here in Vegas at all, so would rather move around a little more so I can lose the guilt over any dietary indiscretions that may or may not occur this week.

Made some sweet potato pancakes that were in the current Oxygen issue. They were sooooo good.

1 medium sweet potato or yam (I used two)
1 scoop unflavored, unsweetened protein powder
cajun seasoning to taste (I also used Real Salt and pepper)
4 egg whites, beaten

Spray a frying pan with cooking spray and preheat.
(I waited until I had everything else prepared)

Grate sweet potato or shred in food processor. Combing in a bowl with protein powder and seasoning. Mix well.

Mix in egg whites.

Place one scoop (I used a measuring cup, 1/3 cup, I think) in frying pan, shaping into a circle. Repeat for four pancakes.

Cook for about 5 minutes or until golden brown, on each side, spraying he tops with cooking spray before flipping.

Just be careful when you spray cooking spray with the burner on. We have gas, so I need to be extra careful.

These were really good.

Hey ladies!

I missed you all this afternoon! I ended up running errands and grocery shopping, and then made it home just in time to start dinner. I did pick up one more workout outfit at Macy's, along with a new pair of PJ's for the RT. (I had ordered a pair on-line, but they didn't fit.)

Allie -- Sending you {{{HUGS}}}! It's always so hard to come back from something like that, esp. when you've been looking forward to it so much. You are so cute and tiny and pretty! It was fun to see you in photos!

Tneah -- Oh, sending you {{{HUGS}}}, sweetie, about those stupid housekeepers! How dare they say that to you?! I really do think that they have other issues -- like jealousy! -- that they are dealing with! Can you fire their rude arses?? I'm so pissed off about that! How dare they say that to you??! You are such an amazing, kind, and wonderful person that I just can't see how anyone could be so cruel and mean to you. Did I mention that it totally pisses me off??! Sorry about that house guest, too. I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that all goes well with the new boat!

Lainie -- We missed you all weekend! Sounds like you had another busy day. I picked up another workout outfit today for the RT, and I love your idea of trying everything on. I'm still stressing about what to do with the hair . . . . Yes, that oatmeal is yummy!

Kara -- Yes, Mr. Sand Dunes is dreamy, and I love his accent. Now I've heard of adding pumpkin to oatmeal, but haven't tried it yet. I think I know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow morning! ;) So did you survive driving with Colin? I'm sending my positive vibes and thoughts your way! I'm getting soooo excited about the RT and meeting you, Lainie, and Peggie after seeing all the photos. Are you starting to feel a bit better about flying?

Robin -- Hope you got loads of blueberries today!

Shelley -- How are you doing, babe? Sending you more big {{{HUGS}}}!

Kristi -- Did you get caught up on laundry today? Hope that the day hasn't been too depressing for you, too! I was thinking that it might be really useful to post all those tips on the RT forum so others could benefit from them, too! :p

Peggie -- I love on-line shopping, too, since I hate having to deal with crowds. Yes, that oatmeal is really good! OK, so I still really, really want the Lauren DVD, but it'll definitely have to wait a bit. Oh, I saw those sweet potato pancakes and was dying to try them out, so it's nice to hear that they turned out to be really good! I love anything that involves sweet potatoes!

Breckie -- Oh, yes, Coach Sean definitely wants you. I wish I had been kicking BIL out today, but no such luck. Your posts really are hysterical! You are SUCH a joy, lady! ETA: I just saw your little self-portrait in that sexay lead apron! Seriously, if you sent that to Coach Sean, your DH would be in trouble! ;-)

Shannon -- Were were you at today? Did you have that talk with your co-worker? Hope it went alright! I drove home from running errands behind a Honda Fit, and thought of you! It's so cute!

Hi to everyone else! See you in the morning! Love and hugs to all!
