MIS --BRUUUUUUUTAL!!!

Kimba

Cathlete
Well, I found a way to weasle out of doing this tape -- I suffered through the upper body section and just couldn't do anything else! I think I did the tape in its entirety once -and I've had it for a a year-and-a-half!

Does this tape terrify anyone else? It will probably be another year before I do te lower body section! :-wow

I love MIS! In fact, I did it this morning. Its my favorite!

For the leg part...do it WITHOUT any weights/barbell. That is what I am doing (had a baby 5 months ago and am getting in shape again). The only things I cannot do, and modify, are the pushups and the tricep work where you use your arms to lower your body and up....forgot the name of that move! :)

Do it again in a few days the way I suggest and you will soon see that its not so hard. If you try to do everything Cathe does with the amount of weight she uses...you will become discouraged.

Hey Runathon,

If I used the weights Cathe uses I'd surely be dead. A barbell would fall on my head during that triceps work on the step(while on your back).

I used #8 #5 weights and a barbell that weighs about 21 pounds --WITH plates. Mind you, the barbell weights 12 pounds so I didn't add that much weight!

I had to stop during the triceps work and skipped the ab work. I couldn't take it any more.

Try it with reduced weights. I pretty much halved everything Cathe does and I was able to make it through. I'm scared to add more weight though. Yes, terrified is the right word.

MIS was the first Cathe tape I ever got and I did it twice a week for a long time. It is tough!! After the upright rows through to the biceps it seems like she's speeding up and I can't wait to lie down to do the ABS. ;-)

Wow, I don't fear this tape at all!!! This one is my "easy" Cathe. Just because I don't care for the sometimes frantic pace in PH or LL. I love the rest periods between sets..

LAST EDITED ON Sep-06-02 AT 01:14AM (Est)[p]I thought MIS was one of the 'easier' Cathe tapes, comparatively that is. Now Power Hour -- I still can't get all the way through that one!

Kimba, there is the answer: Don't use the barbell and just use 3# or 5#. I am trying to do MIS 2 times a week until I get all the kinks out of my body. Then I plan on doing either all PS workouts during the week or PH twice a week...then, when I no longer hurt and can walk again after PH...:)...I plan on introducing IMax and the Classics DVD workouts that I am waiting for. Bottom line: Have a plan. Use minor weights, if not any, at all...and go from there. You can do it!!!!!!!!!!! Yehhaaaaa! :-jumpy!!!

I am so glad that others have the same feelings I do for MIS...I think it's one of the first Cathe tapes I bought over 2 years ago and it still kicks my behind every time I do it. in fact, I think I'm gonna do it tomorrow and not really looking forward to it. I think biceps are the hardest part for me - ouch ouch ouch....

You know I had put this one away for a bit while I was doing S&H..got it out earlier this week and MAN I think I'll go back to S&H, seems MUCH easier. LOL :)
