Michelle Obama

First off: I love her! Everything about her. Being a mom, successful, beautiful, poised, "real", her personality... what's left?

I really enjoy watching what she wears, and the girls! So fun and "different" from any First Lady I can recently remember.

I heard some commentators last night talk about her Ball gown. And that not many First Ladies have gone with shoulder-baring dresses. But they also commented on how tone her upper body and arms were. She obviously works out. She looked fantastic!!

Chris, ITA! She looked great last night. I loved her dress and that she chose to show off her shoulders. I loved watching them dance together, too. You can see the connection they have. And did you see where they each danced with a soldier? It brought tears to my eyes. Very cool.

I really dig this lady - ever since I saw her interviewed on The Daily Show. I also loved Laura Bush (not commenting on her significant other), but there's something more real about Michelle. She's got a mind of her own and isn't afraid to speak it - like Hillary. Only...softer.

Speaking of first families...have you seen Chelsea lately? She's really blossomed into a gorgeous lady!

LOL! :D ITA, she seems like a real class act.

LOVE her. She seems like a class act, all the way, yet still completely down to earth and real. I love the fact, for example, that the kids will still be expected to make their own beds and do chores every day. No maids for them.

Jill Biden's dress was too short for her "age."BUT,given she's a professor, I get it, they tend to dress more youthful and all....Not since Nancy Reagan(and I was in college)have I WANTED a coat so bad! I loved that coat!!!! I even would take one of the little girls' coats!!!!

Short? The picture I saw had her wearing a floor length red dress? Let me see if I can find it.

This is Jill Biden from the back. I thought her dress was GORGEOUS!

I read that Michele Obama works out 3 times per week for 90 minutes. Obama works out most days for 45 minutes. Michele cross trains, mixing up cardio and weight training. Her arms look great, but that Jason Wu dress, IMHO, was not the best choice. It was unsophisticated and, frankly, looked like a prom dress. The Isabelle Toledo dress she wore during the day was a much better choice, if a bit matronly.

ETA: Jill Biden is a very beautiful woman, but red is just not her color. And that dress was such a brassy shade of red. Still, I liked it better than Michele Obama's ball dress!

I love playing fashion critic!

Nancy - What was up with the white, one shouldered dresses? I saw at least 3 of them including Michele's..

I thought there was something not-quite-right about Michele's gown. Too much "poof" to the fabric. The same cut, but a different fabric, would have looked better, IMO.

As for Biden's wife's short dress: I say, if you've got the legs for it (and she does) and your under 60 or so (she is), then go for it. (But I'm a professor, too, so I guess I dress 'younger' as well.;))

The material was what I liked about it! I think it was intentional, b/c the cut was somewhat structured but the material was very soft. I think she was trying to send a message that she was strong but not too tough. Kind of the anti-Hillary. :p

Or I could just be reading too much into a dress.

Yeah, Mrs. Biden has a slammin bod!

I thought Jill looked great too! She is older, but she carried off the shorter skirt and boots very nicely.

I like Michelle in the fact that she's also bigger on the bottom , as I am, so I like to see what she wears. The white dress was a little too "puffy" for my taste too, but she looked elegant and beautiful dancing with Barack. Like a princess and a prince! Although, it did seem a bit long, she seemed to keep stepping on it when they were on stage.
