Memorial week mommies May 30

Jen, I really don't think that babies can have nightmares...they don't have enough life experiences yet....but that is my opinion only. Don't ever feel funny about posting, goofy girl!

Christine, I lurk too. lol

I'd tired. 13-hour road trip to Fargo. Urgh. All they did was medical history and ordered labs. Urgh. I specifically asked the pediatrician if there was any way we could do a "consult" rather than driving so far away to see a specialist. I told my doctor that this visit was going to put a strain on our family and he told me that it was necessary.

The doctor asked questions. Then said that her hemoglobin is low due to (1) prematurity (2) ABO Incompatibility at birth (3) Twin twin transfusion syndrome at birth (4) Breastfeeding (no iron in breasmilk).

Basically I am to increase iron supplementation & she will outgrow it. They did a bunch of labs and will call me on Mon or Tue with results. They also did labs on Madalynn as she was also part of the twin-twin syndrome. Seeing as they are identical twins, there is not a chance that one would have congenital disorder and the other not.

On a positive side. I am grateful for my super dooper healthy kids. :D Thanks for all your prayers & support.

Jen- I used to think the exact same thing when Jimmy was little. I did read somewhere that nightmares start at the time that they can speak in sentences, something about the verbal imprint on the brain creates memory that can become dreams. Now, around age 3 or 4, they can also get night terrors and they are freaky to see! I bet you that James is getting teeth. Jimmy would wake up at night after a few hours of sleep and I could not figure out why, and then he would pop a tooth! How was DHs party at work? How is the back doing? Does changing yoru form help? I am takign the kids to the community pool tomorow to swim and wish we would just hop in yours! Have you tried the baby bjorn that is for water? I have not but it looks cool. I have seen moms wear it in Hawaii, in the pools and stuff, so they do not havve wet squirmy baby. THat does free up a hand for a beer you know!
Allison- I stopped coloring my hair about 7 years ago because of how frustrating it was to nail dowen the perfect cut and color. Bummer that it did not come out how you wanted. The sun might lighten up the highlights? Drew sounds like he is just nailing all his milestones this past week or two. What are you cooking these days? I am in a rut! Too bad that the naps got cut short on you the other day! THat is always how it works! You realize they want to sleep, you finally think you have soem time alone, and BAM! Wake up!
Merlanie- Wow have you got a full plate these days. I admire all of you mommies who are working. I can barely do the mom thing, and to imagine juggling the pressure of work, would make me spin. Has your dad had any more changes? My mom dies with Hospice. I still remember those nurses to this day. THey were so kind. Bummer that you had to drive all teh way to Fargo for the specialist to tell you to give teh girls vitamins. Now that he has examined both girls, can he do more reports from a remote location? Like you get the girls their labs and he can review them and have the appointment on the phone? Whew, what a load for you. I feel for you. Nothign is worse that worrying about our babies. THinking healthy iron filled thoughts for you.
Susan- How was the move? You know, we miss you!
Priscilla- Can you and DH go on a date this weekend while MIL is in town? How is Daniel? John rolls over all the time in bed and wakes himself up so he sleeps terrible these days. Does Daniel do that? Or did he and then stop?
I have been sick for a few weeks. I know I sound lame when I said I hada bad run last weekend! Turns out I had mild pneumonia and a really serious sinus infection. I have been a real bear and EXHAUSTED. I had to take both kids for shots (yes, john had a bleed, but we handled it!), and the pediatrician called in antibiotics for me and had me do a breathign treatment. Her daughter is my internist. SO then II saw the daughter, and she got me an inhaler and some more meds. FINALLY, I can breathe and am not coughing. I actually feel happy. It takes a lot to bring me down, and I was down!!!!! I feel really good today, she gave me the okay to run, as long as I take the inhaler with me. The pharmacists at CVS were so nice to me. Melanie, a shout out to the pharmacists!
So, off to make the beds, start the laundry, go for a run, and then to a massage! Woo hoooooooo!

Phew, 24 miles done. I am not going to complain, but darn I am beat. Still sick and felt it around mile 17. pizza beer and massage on tap. See you ladies later!

and today, i am talking to myself!
making turkey meatballs and pasta. mmmmm.
kids slept awesome today! happy family!

Hey! It was my turn to lurk today. I was in a poopy mood because my back is still hurting so I haven't done Insanity. I figured out what is going on....I have pirformis syndrome which is causing the back pain. It makes sense because it is brought on by repetitive motion, thus Insanity. It started right before the 5k and then I've just aggravated it. I've been working out the trigger points tonight and it feels 60% better. I might continue to rest, which is SOOOO hard!

CHristine-Way to go on your run while sick! NOw I feel like a slacker! James was up again last night about an hour into his sleep. I rocked him back to sleep and he slept the rest of the night. I don't know what is going on with him. DH is working overnight so hopefully little man sleeps good for mommy. I wish you could just come over for a swim! No haven't seen the bjorn thing. DH's work party was fun, saw many old faces. (Used to work there years ago...that is how we met) :D

I made the pumpkin pasta from Cathe and it was yum! I used turkey sausage instead and doubled the recipe so we had leftovers. Hung out for a few hours in the pool, cleaned floors, grocery shopping and napped. Watched Time Travelers WIfe tonight, made me cry. Okay off to put James to bed and then myself. NIght night all....
