I've been spending a lot of time on this site recently. I like the friendliness of you all and I truly appreciate how many of you respond to questions and discuss things in a civil way (I've been on other sites that are not so nice ) Anyway I thought I would share my "success story" so to speak.
I have always had a weight problem -- when I was in high school I was chunky and convinced that I was "big boned" and could never lose weight. Nevermind all I ever ate was potatoe chips and all I ever drank was soda and I did nothing towards exercise.
As I got older I could diet with the best of em, and tried every diet known -- ate nothing but grapefruit for 20 days straight (OH the sores!!!), drank my meals, no carbs, you name it I tried it and it always worked for the minute I did it but as soon as I got off the diet I gained it all back.
In November of 2005 my great aunt came to visit at Thanksgiving and there were lots of pictures taken -- when I saw myself in these pictures I was so upset -- I looked back at a few others and knew I was ready to make a change. Here are two pictures that made me cringe. Alot of my weight is carried in my face as you can see . . . (sorry these pictures are so HUGE!!!)

January of 2006 I started "eating better" and doing pilates. Six months later I added Jillian Michaels tapes to the mix and started lifting weights moderately -- still eating "better" but at this point I didn't know anything about "clean eating" so I had simply quit eating fast food, chips and drinking soda.
January of 2007 I started working with Cathy Savage and I learned about clean eating and lifting heavy -- I had(before joining Cathy Savage) lost about 25 pounds but I wasn't showing any type of definition with my muscles.
A month after I started working with Cathy and Jodi I took this picture.

It caused me to embrace clean eating and lifting heavy -- and when I had to I threw some cardio in there . . . .that's when I was introduced to Cathe by the way. 8 months later I turned 41, in the very best shape of my life.

And now it's 2008 and I have parted ways with Cathy Savage and devoted this year to working out Cathe style -- I'm doing her rotations with all of her DVDs and I'm really really enjoying it.
She totally motivates me to work out. As an example I came home tonight from work and didn't think I was going to work out. I thought I'd just take a rest day -- then I looked at the rotation and saw that the cardio sessions only from 4DS bootcamp and kickboxing was on the menu and I got all keyed up to work out becuase I love those workouts!!!! When I told my husband he said "you are a FREAK!" and he may be right, but I'm okay with it! I love me, I love my new habits, I love my way of life and I encourage anyone who will listen (and I find most people I know don't want to listen they just want to complain about how they can't do something) to join me --
My mission is to get my boys (we have a 14 year old and an 8 year old) to embrace clean eating too -- it's been a tough road, but I think I'll win in the end. ;-)
This is long enough, and I'm sorry -- I just wanted to share!
Have a great weekend ladies!
