Has anyone ever tried this compact blender??? If so would you buy it again???

I just updated some of my 6 week body makeover products, and one of them is a cookbook that uses alot of smoothie recipes and I'd like to know if I should invest in one of these as it seems rather expensive, although I like their 2 for 1 deal, would I really use two???

Thanks for any suggestions/opinions:)

Carrie

I only have 1 and don't use it. Tried to make salsa as they show on the infomercial and it was really more like tomato soup consistency. It will make smoothies ok but I was not overly impressed.

I got the two for one deal, but don't use the contraption anymore. I tried to make salsa, too, but had the same problem as the other poster: I got a soupy consistency. I tried a few times, but never got the salsa to come out the way I wanted it to. I may use my Magic Bullet as a blender for when I do my next cleanse and need to blend my juice, strawberries, and fiber mix into a drinkable concoction, but that's probably all I'll ever use it for. Save you money and pass on the deal.

I use it for smoothies every day, several times for the whole family.I'm on my second bullet, the first died of old age and overuse. I really love mine.

You know, I guess if you are only buying it to make smoothies and frozen drinks, you might want to invest in one. So, as an addendum to my first post, just think about what you want to use it for before purchasing it. Smoothies & drinks: Yes; food items: No.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I'll wait on it. It was too pricey for me right now anyway. Everyone here is always so helpful, thank you.

Carrie

Carrie, I asked this question a long time ago, and got a suggestion for a $15 compact blender instead. If you do a search, I'm sure you can find the thread!

I have one that I've used for about 3 years, exclusively for making smoothies and grinding flax seed into meal.
I'd buy it again for that purpose, though the Personal Blender from Tribest is tempting me.

The plusses, IMO:
the drink cups are great.
It does a good job at making smoothies and blending frozen fruit for 'sorbets.'
It's fast

Minuses:
'Something" (some black rubber from somewhere) seems to be wearing/flaking off from somewhere (the bottom of the blade unit?), and I see flakes and pieces of it inside the base.
The base gets dirty (perhaps from a previous leak before I replaced the plastic washers) and is hard to clean because it's not submersible and there are a lot of corners and edges, etc. Good thing that food never touches this area.
The 'juicer' and 'blender jar' are a joke. While the machine is great for blending small amounts and as a smoothie machine and grinder, it will not replace a regular blender.

You might get a better price at www.hsn.com , they used to sell it.

Carrie,
I also didn't want to spend the money on a Magic Bullet, and I needed another appliance like a hole in the head. So I opted for the Oster Blend and Go cup, it's about $10. It's a heavy duty plastic cup (with it's own travel lid and straw) that fits your existing Oster blender base. All you have to do is use the blade, seal ring, and blender screw on bottom from your regular blender. Although I do see that now they sell one with a blade and seal ring already in the box with the cup. This thing is GREAT! It has all the power of a regular blender base, with the great smaller vacuum power of a Magic Bullet/Personal Blender. It makes the thickest, smoothest, most frosty smoothie drinks. It does ice, fresh/frozen fruit, nuts, veggies, like nothing. You can even make frozen fruit 'ice cream' in it. You can buy them at Walmart/K-mart, or online.

In my opinion, the MB ROCKS for smoothies and frozen drinks!! One hint was that I found it did better with store bought (bagged) ice than homemade cubes. It did chip away at either but it had an easier time with the bagged ice.

I used it for some other stuff (ie garlic) and wasn't too impressed, but for drinks, it is fantastic.

I'd say to get it!

I liked mine until it started leaking from the bottom and into the part where the motor is - so I couldn't clean it. The spills started to stink inside there, so I finally pitched it. It was rank! Unfortunately I hadn't saved my receipt so I was stuck - so save your receipt if you buy one. Hopefully mine was just a lemon.
