Low Max

Just thought I'd say I did Low Max off of Fit TV the other day and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of sweat that was pouring off of me. I think that it was as much as Imax 2!!! I think I had read somewhere before that someone thought it was for their "off day" and they were surprised at the intensity. I'll second that!

I had no interest in purchasing this video because I have my sights on some of the GS upper body work outs. Now I'll have to add it to my list!

Since I tend to build muscle easily in my legs could I use the video as a lower body work out...of course, with the added benefit of getting my cardio done, too?

I love Low Max! So glad you liked it too. If I don't have a lot of time, I do the pre-mixes on it. The more I do this workout, the more I like it. I finally used 8" step yesterday on it and it was no problem for me at all. I like the leg work it gives me. I kill 2 birds with one stone doing this.

Thanks Jeanette,

What do the premixes involve? I was just checking out the description of LM and I think only step combo #4/Blast #4 is left out on the Fit TV version. That was the only one that didn't seem familiar. I used the 8" as well. It was fine, but a little awkward at first.

I guess to add to my original post that I wouldn't trade my L&G, PLB or GSL work outs, but since in LM there's a lot of leg action would it be smart to do one of the legs work outs I currently own in the same week as LM. Considering the problem previously stated.

Thanks, Dallas:)

Hi,

I have been debating whether to get this one too after seeing it on Fit tv. What is missing from the Fit Tv version (I think) is step combo 1, step blast 2, the whole step combo/blast 4 and 7. I've read that section 7 is really fun! I *think* the premixes are all the step combos and/or all the blasts. I just love this workout so I'll probably have to get the full version.

I would think you would be OK, since you are just weight training for lower body the once. Low Max isn't going to build big muscles. It will increase lower body endurance and give nice definition I reckon.

Thanks Clare,

That sounds great! Can't wait to get this DVD as well.

There are several premixes:
All have the warm-up and stretch
1) Step segments only
2) Blasts only
3) Intervals 1-4
4) Intervals 5-7

Get this DVD!!! One of Cathe's best cardio workouts!! I hope she does another one like this. Great interval effects and great lower body benefits. A must have, imo.

I'm glad you guys are all discovering what a great workout Low Max is.
It's very demanding of the lower body and lots of fun at the same time. I am just dripping with sweat while I'm doing Low Max. I do it at least once a week now. The music adds a lot to the fun factor too.

The premixes are approximately 45-50 minutes long so no problem breaking this up or doing it all at one time. It's fantastic!

Thanks Cathy for the break down.

I don't think it is as intense as any of the Imax's but it is a great workout and loads of fun!
