Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

Today I did Urban Rebounding Extreme Patrick Goudeau Core Metabolic Cardio 53 minutes, 409 calories. I did not do the push up segments. Instead I did either more jumping and mountain climbers off the side. I did the plank stuff though. I also did plank jacks instead of the jumping up and down off of the rebounder push ups. That is one of the moves I did when I injured my rotator cuff. I followed this with Cathe's Push Pull premix lower body 3 times. I forgot that the times were not correct on the premix times. It said 37 minutes for 2 sets and 39 minutes for 3 sets. It ended up being 59 minutes:oops: I kept wondering when it was going to be done. My legs are feeling it now. Total calories burned was 708.

Belinda, I would think that walking over 10 miles would be plenty. I am lucky if I get 5 miles in and that is with my cardio workouts.

What do you think of that Patrick workout? I hadn't heard of it before, sounds interesting!

I did ICE bootcamp.. no abs premix this morning followed by ICY core 2. I did like core 2 better than core 1. I should really try to do these bonus core routines more often!

We had a huge windstorm yesterday. 3 big sections of our cedar fence blew over.

My hubby got me a kit to grow herbs in my kitchen windiw box for Christmas. I've planted cilantro, thyme, dill, basil so far. Hope it all grows!

Good morning,

21DF Upper Fix and walk is done. I got lots of more work dvd's for xmas. I will keep it light until the NY. Sorry for being short on personals, my DD is still here. Tomorrow we are going to DC for NY.

Doreen - oh no! Hope you all ok.

Diane Sue - how are your you doing?

Have a great day and workout.

Belinda- Sounds like a fun trip! Great job squeezing your workout in anyway. What wo's did you get for Christmas?

Diane Sue- Hope you are feeling better. Has the time off been healing?

I did way too much internet surfing this weekend somehow! Caught up on the 2lazy4gym blog which of course clued me in to several new releases for workout DVDs. Though looking back over this year and what I've done I'm most pleased with my purchases when I either a) do the workout prior to purchase (ie library check-out) b) read the full exercise by exercise description by Jen on the blog or c) buy tried and true instructors! So I have several more on my list but I'm going to wait for the reviews first. One of them, MetaShred Extreme, looks really good but the promo mentioned a streaming option so maybe I can try it on demand before deciding to buy..... here's to hoping - its very expensive. I think I am getting better at spotting when workouts are too similar to something I already have and some that were on my list I deleted as no longer interested! I've also realized I don't like workouts that really could have been done via paper.... ie the interval structures. If there aren't tempo or exercise variations or choreography involved I probably don't need the DVD! I'm trying to watch for those as well. Oh well - enough of my ramblings!

Ginny, there are two Patrick Goudeau workouts in URX-MT I like them both. Core Metabolic Cardio has a bit more strength work in it than the other one. The other, my favorite of the two is a bit shorter at 45 minutes and only requires the sand weights at the end for the core work. I generally burn a lot of calories in the 45 minutes. It is Metabolic Strength and Cardio Intervals. I don't know if you are familiar with this set, but each instructor has two workouts. Greg Cook later made a 3rd workout that is Circuit based where you do weight work with dumbbells, in between sequences on the rebounder and there is some places where he throws in some pull ups.

Today I did 30 minutes on the Tread Climber, 1.5 miles an hour first 10 minutes graduating to 2.5 mph to the end. Fit Bit says 158 calories and the Tread Climber was 10 calories more. Not a remarkable difference. I watched the timesaver premix of Strong and Sweaty Boot camp no upper while on the Tread Climber. . I have 5,128 steps so far today. I forgot to check where it was at before I began but guessing I got about 4000 with the Tread Climber at that pace.

Doreen, we have had enough wood fences blow down. One time almost the entire fence of the 3/4 acre yard had to be replaced. Some of it went to oz I think. Never found our gate. That fence was cedar and we had metal posts installed. It was a bad storm. I hope it isn't too much to get replaced. We keep talking about putting up a new fence here. This house has a very old wood fence and it is time.
I wish I had a window to grow fresh herbs in. I love cooking with them. The rest has been good. I didn't realize how tired I was. I really haven't taken much of a rest in a very long time. I think Jury Duty for the 4 days and then three years ago when I had the torn meniscus. I guess it generally ends up being a forced rest rather that planned. I understand on the workouts. I am so much better at looking at a workout and hearing others talk about it, then research it more and I end up taking it off of my want list or out of my Amazon shopping cart.

Belinda, I bet you are enjoying the family time. Have fun with your New Years celebration :) More dvds to add to your to do list;):)

I did Total body giant sets this morning. Loved it. Its a great total body workout in under and hour so I think it will find a regular place in my rotations. I'll have to check out some of the premixes too.

Today I did Cycle Sweat from Strong and Sweaty, 53 minutes, 360 calories, 11.22 miles, heart rate 122 avg./163 max. I may do some lower body barre work tomorrow. My Spin Bike said 411 calories today. Cathe's workout manager has over 500 calories. My steps were 3228. I always wonder how the Fit Bit Calculates the steps. Maybe the standing portions.

Doreen, I have heard a lot say how much they liked Total Body Giant Sets. Glad that you enjoyed it.

Thanks! I have never heard of that set before. Will check it out!

Ginn, check total fitness and urban rebounding sites. Also you might find some on Amazon. Last time I checked they were not all available. I originally bought a package deal that included the rebounder, all of the dvds, the bar for the rebounder, and some double tubing with clips that hook on to the rebounder that Greg Cook used in one of his workouts.

This morning I did Cardio slam. Loved it. I think its all new moves or new twists on moves so it felt like all new material. It hard but doable.... I don't think I'll dread having out come up in a rotation.

This morning I did Lean Legs and abs premix chair/firewalker + bonus barre , 35 minutes, 89 calories. Afterward I used my Yoga Tune Up therapy balls and did some of knee hab and some work on my neck and shoulders from Yoga Tune Up upper body.

Doreen, Cardio Slam does look like it would be a fun workout. Are you planning on doing a full Strong and Sweaty Rotation?

Hey girls,

Sorry for not checking in yesterday. I got sick really bad last night , maybe I had a stomach bug:( I did workout in the morning, thank goodness. I did 21DF Lower Fix and walked.

Today I did 21 DF Pilates and walked.

Doreen, glad you like the Cardio Slam. I thought it was very high impact and a lot of jumping. Nothing new really, IMO! I didn't like the music. Lot's of reviews on VF :)

Diane Sue - yeah, more dvd's to add to my collection. How are you liking the new workouts so far? I only did Cardio Slam, to high impact for my me. There a lot of reviews on VF, I read the music was horrible in this set? I really need to play with them next week.

I will be back tomorrow. Have a great evening.

Good morning,

Workout is done. I did 21 DF Dirty 30 (I switched workouts today) and walked.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me. BBL!

Belinda- You must have recovered quickly from your bug! Good job on keeping up the workouts.

Did you do the regular Cardio Slam or the Premix with the modifications? Sorry you didn't like it!! Did you buy the set or just single DVDs? I don't remember what you said you pre-ordered.

I'm still curious as to what DVDs you got for Christmas!! And if any of the 200 DVDs you did in 2016 are going to be in your rotations for 2017!?

I used my Christmas $$ yesterday to get a few new workouts!!
Body Box - Amy Bento. I've had my eye on this for a while. I typically like her stuff.
Holleywood Hardball - Paul Katami. I did part of this on youtube a while back. Love his stuff and want something else to do with my Med ball.
All in 18. Jengolf's review on her blog was fantastic.... and it was 25% off. Fingers crossed I like it as tax season gets busy and short workouts are always welcomed then!!

So Diane Sue- My plan for the Strong and Sweaty is to work through them all (to make sure the discs work, etc) and then work them into my typical week's plan of 3 weightlifting, 3 cardio/metabolic workouts. But I'm planning to work in the ICE workouts and muscle meltdowns into that mix and use some of the new DVDs above for the cardio days. I might put something on paper next week - or modify the Strong and Icy rotation to get my plan started.

Belinda, glad the bug did not last long and you were able to keep working out.

Doreen, I like Amy's Body Box workout. I still have not done a Paul Katami and I have heard a lot of people say how much they liked his workouts. I usually go through the workouts before I make a decision to do a rotation. Then I am almost always adding to them. I am sure tax time is a busy time for you. You probably are swamped with work during those months.
