Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

Good morning,

I did 21 DF Total Body Cardio + 1 mile walk + pilates.

Christmas tree is up :) glad that is done. Tonight we putting down the floor in my basement/gym :)

Have a great Monday, everyone.

This morning I did Iso Speed hammer. Since my knee is still feeling a bit squishy I subbed out hip thrusts for all the squats and pistol squats. Then I did 30 minutes of ICE bootcamp befor calling it a morning!

Funny thing is when I first did ICE on demand after it came out I wasn't all that impressed. Now that I've done them all a coupke times and have zeroed in on a good weight selection I like them more and more. I like that t he slower pace and fewer reps lets me pick heavier weights than I might normally.

I see S&S might make it by Christmas after all....

Today I did 4 Day Split Kickbox and lower body weights. Total time 67 minutes, calories burned 438. I had to make adjustments because I stopped after kickbox and restarted with weights. That is because the Fit Bit and Map My Fitness have different selections for weights and kickbox workouts. I find it makes a difference in how it reads the calorie burn. I had to stop and restart a lot because I used to do much heavier and trying to be careful. I would have to keep adjusting. Plus I started with the barbell. I really did not find a better way of doing the front squats. Maybe I should have just held one dumbbell. I find the heavier squats are more comfortable with the bar on my shoulders than two dumbbells at the sides that seem to pull on my shoulders. I felt bit weak here. I used to do those low plane lunges with 25's. I struggled with 20's today.

Belinda, good job on the workout. I will look forward to seeing the basement pictures when you are done.

Doreen, I was uncertain about Ice at first. I did not pre-order. Then When I got on demand and tried some of the ones that were like Ice workouts and finally ordered a couple, I started picking up the rest. I still do not have To the Mat though. I think I would use it as add ons but most do not seem to love it.

Hey girls,

Did my workouts this morning before work :) DH and I did 21 DF Upper Fix and walking.

Debbie - as soon as we get done I will post pictures. We laid planks down until 9 pm. I was so tired last night. Glad you listen to your body and make adjustments as needed. I have to do the same with my back/shoulder. I agree using a barbell instead of 2 DB's.

I will be back tomorrow. Have a great day and workout.

I did a Suzanne Bowen rebounder workout, 23 minutes. That is a leg burner. I jumped harder than they did, jacks, tuck jumps, high knee running etc. for me. I burned 141 calories doing this workout. I then did the X10 mix that just omits the circuit at the end, 63 minutes, heart rate 136 avg./168 max, 521 calories. I also did 10 minute ab chisel, 11 minutes, 55 calories. Total time was 97 minutes, calories burned 717.

Belinda, nice having your husband workout with you. I bet you are tired after working so long on the tile.

Good morning,

My workout is done for today: DH and I did 21DF Lower Fix + 1 Mile walk with Jessica. I also did Jessica Smith Brain Fusion from her 6WTR.

Gym floor update: I am posting a pic of the flooring in the gym/basement. We had we had a lot of damage boxes of planks :( We have to return them this week. That will probably hold us up for another week or so :( Last night we did a lot of cutting to make the planks fit around the corners/stairs. It's looking really amazing. Once we are done with the flooring, I will try to post a sort video of the entire basement. This way you get an idea what we had to deal with:( I know you can't see it in the pic, but we are done on the other side of the stairs too.

Diane Sue - we used to workout to together before DH had this shoulder/bicep surgery. The workouts are short and sweet and he likes them as much as I do.Nice job yesterday.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning,

21DF Pilates and walk is done :)

Last night DH and I had to take Brawler to the emergency vet clinic :( His paw was bleeding from the knocking sock :( We bought the knocking sock 2 or 3 weeks ago. Last week I noticed the was getting blisters. He hasn't worn the sock since last week, but the blisters started to bleed. The sock was rapping him bloody. The sock was a wast of my $$. Not to mention the vet last night cost us over $224:( The only reason we took him last night his paw had a bad oder. Oh well! Poor dog can't get a brake!

Doreen - we have a lot of cutting in that part of the basement. We had to start in the back part of the basement, I keep my German Shrank and wine cellar in that area. Which is sitting in the workout area right now. The workout area will be easier, I hope.

Where is Diane Sue?

Good job ladies.

Rest day today. I have two weeks that I am off of working out. Then with my doctors go ahead I will be starting back. It will be good for me. I have not taken many breaks the last couple of years. Just a little time off has made my shoulder and neck feel much better. The doctor wants me to eat a high protein diet. I hear the new workouts will be ready soon:) I ordered the spin one which will probably be one of the first ones I can do. My doctor is going to be gone for Christmas vacation. My two older grandsons bought me a Christmas tree and set it up and put the lights on Tuesday night. It is tall. One stood on the stairs and the other on a ladder to wrap the lights around.

Belinda I love the tile and the wall colors. It is going to look great when you are done. Cutting and fitting is the slow part of putting down tile. It looks like you have plenty of corners to work around from what I see. I will enjoy seeing the video. My husband uses the tread climber and weights downstairs and I use my workout room upstairs. We got bikes from my daughter ride but with my neck pain and shoulder we have not got out. Now it is getting cold and snow possibilities so it may be awhile. Poor Brawler. I have not heard of a knocking sock. It sounds unpleasant. Vets can get expensive. I had a dog rip off a dew claw and after trying everything to keep it covered and get it to heal, we finally had to have it cauterized. It was an overnight stay for her. Even the cone of shame did not stop her from liking it. It was so weird. Did they say why the odor?
What kind of workout is Brain Fusion? That is a different title from the usual ones.

Doreen, Ice Metabolic with the blizzard blast is a good one for hitting everything nicely.

I am still here. I will check in but without the workouts.. Recovery posts:)

Good for you Diane Sue to take a break when you need it. I've been wondering if I need to do the same since I've been feeling my squishy knee more lately. Maybe at least dial to all LI or yoga. I want to be ready whenthe new series comes.

I did RWH back, shoulder and bis this morning. Upper body to give the knee a rest.

Good evening,

Did my workout early this morning, just getting around to post. Been working in the basement. DH and I did 21 DF Cardio Fix. Forgot how tough this one was, lol. I also walked a few miles today and did JS Dynamic stretch from her 6WTR.

Diane Sue - thank you :) The pic I posted is the very back of the basement, not even my workout area. I keep my German Shrank and wine caller in that area :D That corner is a pain in the butt, I am glad that part of the basement is done. We laid more planks today. Hopefully we can start laying down more planks this weekend. We have to move a lot of stuff around in order to get to the workout area. The knocking sock is suppose to help him, not hurt him :( I had high hopes. The oder came from the blood/blisters on his paws:( I am so sorry you had to go through this with your dog :( Vets are expensive, but I am glad we have them. My dog is like a family member. I know you are ready to get your workouts in, but I think that break did you some good. Sometimes we forget to take it down a notch. My goal for next year is not to be so hard on myself and take more brakes.

Have a great evening.

Belinda nice work on dirty thiirty. I think I did not like that one so much. Too much shoulder work in it. Does your basement cover the whole expanse of your house or is it smaller? I hope you get a lot done this weekend. PoorBrwler, that must have been painful if there is blood blisters. I guess it was worth a try.

Diane Sue - I was sweating buckets with Dirty 30 :) I agree, a lot of shoulder work. I keep my weights light. My basement covers the whole expanse of the house. My basement has a full size bathroom.DH has a huge work shop, and huge storage rooms. Our basement is huge. The people we bought the house from, had a lot of adult kids. The basement came finished :) We have 4 bedrooms , 3 full bathrooms and a guest room, the master bedroom is huge with a sitting room. I think one of their older kid used the basement as an apartment/bedroom. I love having all that space, but hate cleaning it.

Belinda, lots of space and areas for guests is nice, but I agree on the cleaning. When we lived further away we had plenty of extra rooms and space for family when they came up during the holidays. I would have to divide up areas for different cleaning days. A full basement like that would be really nice. The full bath is an extra bonus.

Diane Sue - I have to divide up areas for different cleaning day's :) When we moved from Germany to WV, we had no indention buying a big house. We looked for month looking for something smaller :( All the smaller houses we looked at where in bad shape plus they wanted more $$ :( In a few years we will move into a smaller, one level house:) That is way I starting to downsize :) I really don't want to wait until we move. BTW, we really never use the full bathroom in the basement.

Belinda, if I had my workout space in the basement, I would have my closet stuff and bath stuff all down there. I use the upstairs bath and bedroom closet that is in the workout room/bedroom. That way I can workout and take my shower. It is sort of "my space" I have a little inset corner where I have my art table and art supplies set up next to a window. When we had the larger home I had the upper mid floor game room for my workout space and another nook for my art table. It was larger and covered the whole end of the house that was the mancave/family room. I had the bath on right next to the workout room and used the two closets in the hall there that had places to hang clothes. I sometimes wish we had just one floor though. The spiral stairs has been a deterrent for moving large furniture and fitness equipment upstairs.
I always feel bad when we do all that work remodeling and then sell the house that we put so much of ourselves into. I guess it is just temporal things though.

I have taken over the basement with my workout stuff.... well I share the TV with the gaming system and the space with the pool table. I just have to be very instant that the kids don't leave messes in the floor space but they use my step and bosu and balls to sit on while they play games. So that's sharing right? LOL.

Today is a day off. Last night I did mish mosh cardio. I started with 10 minutes on the treadmill hill sprints, 30 second sprint, 30 second run. Then I did Imax 2 step and intervals 1- 5. Then I did To the max solid step, step tabata, core and stretch.

Doreen, nice Mish mosh of workouts :) I bet you will enjoy having the basement for workout space. Sometimes a change like that can make things easier.

Diane Sue - like I said, loving having all that space but hate cleaning it :) I hear you on feeling bad doing all that work than sell the house :( I looking at this yes....it's a lot of work that goes into a house. When we sold our house in TX, we remodeled the entire house before we sold it. We sold the house for a very good price :) That made up for it selling it :) We have to replace all the carpets, they are 12 years old. It's time to replace them. At least, I can enjoy the new flooring for a few years too.
