Belinda, I probably will not like the JS dance yoga then. I am not a real fan of the ballet workouts. I hope you enjoyed your massage and going out to eat.
 
CL 103 Cardio Circuit Mashup this morning. 45 mintues. This was alternating cardio and strength moves and then moves using the band and loops. Fun workout - on the higher end of impact for a Live workout. Some stuff I did on the rebounder.

Sydney's 40 min Strength and Conditioning workout is done. Need to do some abs later.

Diane - some of JS workouts are a hit or miss for me. I don't like Ballet workouts and she has a lot of them.

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Box and Bar 39 minutes, heart rate 110/166, 136 calories, 1,489 steps.
I also did Raw 5 day strength day 1 Back and Biceps, 39 minutes, heart rate 90/115, 73 calories( I seriously do not get these burns my previous recordings with this was 132 calories) , 391 steps. Total time 78 minutes, 209 calories, 1,880 steps. I will probably take a rest day tomorrow unless I fit in some stretching and yoga. I have my monthly game day with friends and this time it is much further in another city and I need to be there by 9. We are doing our valentines exchange and games. Hopefully weather is not bad. Also hopefully I have my car.

Belinda, I think I remember somewhere that Jessica Smith talked about her ballet classes when she was younger. It is probably something she likes to do. I tried a barre workout when I had Les Mills Streaming and it was all ballet. I hated it. It was not what I expected. They were not even using a barre or doing barre type stuff that I am used to.

Doreen, I remember that workout and the impact in it not being something I particularly wanted to return to. Nice work.

Diane - I am not a fan of ballet workouts. I find them boring. Yes, JS took ballet classes when she was younger. Ballet and barre workouts a different workouts. There are only a few barre instructors I like and stick with. Nice workouts yesterday.

Belinda - I'm with you - I avoid ballet or barre workouts like the plague. Even more than I avoid abs!! :p
 
Rest day today. I think I really needed it. My neck was cracking and popping and painful last night till I put a cold pack on it last night till I went to bed. Knee hurt as well. This morning I woke up and am fine which is good. Hopefully tomorrow is the same. I had a nice time at my ladies game day and valentine gift exchange.

Doreen, nice work wit Sydney's arms and glutes. I love doing abs :) But, yes, ballet would be something I would avoid like the plague. I don't mind some barre though, like Cathe does. I guess I don't care a lot for Turbo Barre though. It is way too long and not easily broken down into a short workout.

I just finished Sydney's 50 min Glutes and Cardio. I am not sure if I can do Sydney's 8 week program. Her style of workouts are so different than what I am used too. Maybe I am too old school. I will see how I feel by Friday. I may switch to my dvd's next week.

Doreen - we think alike. I the ab isn't included I will skip it too. I do like this about SBF she adds your abs into the weeks schedule.

Diane - Oh no! How is your neck feeling today?

Belinda - What do you not like about her style? I don't really like her cardio - her moves aren't synced to a beat so its hard to follow along on those. I mostly just do her strength workouts and skip the cardio ones. I would prefer to do bike or step or kickbox for cardio.

I was perusing Beachbody's website last night trying to figure out why I haven't seen them release a new program lately.... well- I guess they have but it's explicit?!? Belinda - you did 80 day a while back didn't you? Would you recommend? What about LIFT4 - did you do that one? Trying to decide if I should do a round of beachbody on demand after my Cathe Live subscription is up.

Doreen - I don't like her cardio for the same reasons you mention. I do like her strength workouts. I also prefer step or kickboxing for cardio. I ended up doing my own cardio like kickboxing moves to get my HR up. She does a lot of up and down on the floor moves. I keep everything up. My knees can't handle going to the floor than up again. I also use my bench for the gluten work or I use my stability ball. Need to take care for my knees. I don't want a knee replacement.

I have done both programs. Loved both. I highly recommend Lift4 if you want shorter workouts. L4 used heavier weights and the workouts are shorter. I should revisit them soon. He adds Hiit to his strength workouts. Those are fun and doable. What I like about BB workouts, they always have a modifier. Let me know if you sign up. Maybe I will do L4 with you. 80 Day is an amazing program too. The workouts are much longer up to 60 min. I also would recommend 21 Day Fix another great workout series.

Today I did Raw Ripped and Ride January 2020, this time I used the spin bike since last time I followed Kelly on the step. The weights they use are a bit confusing as at the start Kelly says 5 and 7's mayb she says 5 or 7. I don't know. They were using 10 for their heavy. I used 5's and 8's. This was 35 minutes, heart rate 114/154, 128 calories, 1,446 steps. I thn did 5 Day Strength day 2 chest and triceps, 34 minutes, 90/135 heart rate, 57 calories, 320 steps (map my fitness said 177 calories using upper strength setting) I finished with Jessica Smith Gentle Yoga neck and shoulders, 19 minutes, 89/121 heart ate 24 calories, 44 steps.
Total time was 88 minutes, 209 calories, 1,810 steps. I am about ready to toss this Versa 2 across the room. Feeling frustrated with the amount of effort I am putting in and it's readings. Not what they were at the start.
I will be back in awhile.

Belinda, it is more my shoulder this morning. I woke up with it hurting along the front again. I am hoping this is not because the affects of the steroid they gave me a few months ago has worn off. I do not want the epidural the doctor was talking about in my neck. I lightened up significantly with my workout today and stretched a lot through it and then my stretch afterward. Knee is much better today. That is why I chose the spin bike today. I hear you on the up and down from the floor movements. I am much slower than the instructors getting there. On I Max 4 when Cathe does those squat thrusts from side to side and across the step, I do them with my hands on the step and do some extra step moves because I don't like doing them.

Doreen, how much longer do you have on Cathe Live?

I am not ready for any particular rotation. Every time I try I start hurting somewhere and have to back off and do something else. It is quite frustrating.

Diane - sorry you have to deal with your shoulder now. Glad your knee is doing better. I still can't bent my knees. They are still swollen. I really need to make another appointment. This is going on for too long. I feel like the older I get the harder I heal from injuries. I am afraid to do any step workouts with my knees right now. do you plan on going back to see your doctor?

Doreen - have fun with your workout today.

I am getting ready to leave for DC spending time with DD. Tomorrow will not be a fun day, it's a work day.

I did CL 267 Metabolic Madness this morning. This was my second time doing it so I knew what weights to use and the second time through I used my barbell for the Deadlifts and the squats/calf raises. This is on my list to buy if I ever decide to go that route.

Diane - I thought the same on that workout - you could even do it twice through and do the step one time and the bike the next! Hope your shoulder feels better quickly!

Belinda- have fun in DC! Hope your knees don't bother you when you are there!
 
Happy Valentines Day!

I took a 6 a.m. Pilates Reformer class with DD. It was my DD's favorite instructor, she was amazing. I felt more confidence on the reformer. Felt every muscle in my body. I guess in live classes they can play real music. The music was recognizable, upbeat music. I wished I had a pilates studio near by, I would take more reformer classes.

Doreen - thank you. As long as, I keep everything low impact my knee is fine.

Diane - hope your shoulder is feeling better.

Belinda- What is a reformer class like?

This morning I pulled out Step Moves DVD and then added on a couple songs from Refit on Demand. I guess their on demand works a bit different. Instead of keeping the recordings online forever they appear to cycle off as soon as the new week's class is recorded and added.... so I guess if you really like a class too bad- you can't go back to it!!
 
Quick check in as I have to leave and get my grandson in a bit. I did Jessica Smith Walk Strong and Have Fun: Have a Ball, 33 minutes, 159 calories, heart 123/153, 2,860 steps followed by Walk Strong Have Fun Ready Steady Go, 33 minutes, 171 calories, heart rate 129/170 3,296 steps. I finished with JS Gentle Yoga chest and back, 18 calories, 21 minutes, 10 steps, heart rate 77/94. Total time 87 minutes, 348 calories, 6,166 steps.
 
So I tried a workout from the Jillian Michael's app today and then followed with a workout from Instagram by 1busybody.

Sorry for not checking in yesterday. Had a busy day yesterday. We went car shopping.

Yesterday I did SBF Feel Good TB Tabata. Today I did Jessica Smith Walk Strong Cardio Party. Played my own music and muted her off :) Had a great workout.

A reformer is pilates on crack :D this site will explain it better than I could. It's amazing.

I doing another round of 3.5 STS rotation. I will be done the day my sister and my BIL are coming. Perfect timing :) I am going to go lighter on leg day. See how that works out? We shall see! I will throw in different cardio workouts from different Cathe series.

STS D1 is done.

I'm checking out another app this week with the 7 day free trial. (Jillian app was way to hurried of a workout and I can't change the exercise intervals to be more like 40-45 seconds so I scrapped that one). This is Alexia Clark. I did a month of her program 2 years ago and she has some great workouts. Now she has an iphone app with a built in timer. So I have to use my husband's old Iphone to get it downloaded and tested it out yesterday and today. Today was 3 circuits of upper body and then an upper body burnout. Took me about 45 minutes.

I think I'm burned out of videos for a minute and need to do some workouts on my own and play my own music for a while.
