Life Expectancy Calculator

Huh! I'm only going to make it to 92. Which raises a question I've been pondering lately. How long do you want to live? My MIL is 92 and has outlived most of the relatives of her generation, most of her friends and her DH. She moved away from the town where she lived all her life to move into a nursing home near us. She is in great health and I hope she lives many more years, but I know she is lonely. A friend's father is becoming senile. He is also in his 90's. His health is good otherwise. He asked his grand-daughter the other day, "Why am I still alive?" Do you want to stick around this old world as long as you can? Or do you want to die while you still have most of your functioning brain cells?

It calculated 91 for me. I'm a worrier. Always have been, always will be. It's just my nature.
Honestly, I don't care what age I live to be. I love life on this earth, but I know I have paradise waiting for me in the next. :)

I got 91, too, and I'll be seeing Cynthia in paradise :)

Robin, I know what you mean, and my mom was in the same boat as your MIL, but I really believe that our generation as a whole will live longer and be healthier than our parents and grandparents, or at least us Cathletes will. ;)

By the way, we need to get busy and establish that home for aging Cathletes -- remember? We talked about this before. We need to choose a location and then we can all be admitted there and continue our kettlebell, Cardio Coach, Cathe, P90X discussions over games of scrabble and what have you -- LMAO!!

Will you be my roomie, Ms Lee?

The women on my mom's side live forever, and both of my parents are healthy and active 78 and 81 year olds, so that probably helps my results a bit.

My maternal grandmother had a big stroke that eventually killed her at 93. Up to that point, she was pretty on the ball. As long as I'm like her and not senile, I'm content to live out my time here...however long that may be.

I got 95! and that includes having cancer and diabetes run in the family. All my grandparents died in their early to late 80s.

I guess I'll be joining you guys in the Home for the Aged Catheites!

I got 89 years old. I am also a worrier can't help it no matter how hard I try.
I just hope I am in my right mind at that age. My grandmother has dementia and she's 91 and it's hard.

99 here, yay. I would be OK with this as long as it is healthy and with not a lot of health issues. My parents are aging in this manner my in-laws are not.

My luck I will live to the projected 105, but with nary a brain cell
I'm putting in my reservation now for the Catheite home. But if you EVER see me with the bra on the outside thing, LET ME GO!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

My FIL is 86 and was having urine trouble. He came out of my bathroom with his pants stuffed with MAXI PADS!! He thought they were such a great idea to control the dribbling!!!!! I had just had a baby so basically he had a maternity mattress sized Maxi pad between his legs... Peed myself. But was all out of PADS!!!!!

He did get lots of new chicks at the assisted living center.:D:D:D

I got 86. That's more than enough for me, thanks. I really don't plan on living past 60 or so. 60 seems like a good age to go. I have no desire to end up with aches and pains all over all the time, or in a nursing home sitting in a bed of my own pee. Negative, I know, but that's how I feel. DH on the other hand, would love to be immortal. Not me, I'm ready to check out at 60.

Nan

I got 100, but don't know how.

I agree with those who say you don't want to get to 100 and have five brain cells and no mobility! Who wants to live to 100 if you can't function independently?

I always score badly in the "stress and lifestyle" section. I worry too much (often with good reason) and don't get out enough. I'm glad to have found my friends on Cathe Nation because it's given me more of a social life! Hooray and thanks! :D
