Bobbi, So sorry I didn't respond to your question! I was looking for some "good" underwear and got sidetracked.:)

Ya know, I go out of town for a week and miss the fun. :)

I'm glad to see that this thread has sort of relaxed and not turned into a heated free-for-all as it had the early potential for doing. I agree with the general sentiments expressed so beautifully by my friends Miss Queen Lex, Also Queen Bobbi, Mish-Mosh Monarch Annette (oh, how I bow to you!), and Eloquent Newbie Jordan. :) I guess I'm an old-timer -- I call myself that -- because I've been a forums regular since 1996. I really love and have come to depend on this place, even when (like my girl Bobbi) I float in and out as time and life permit and sometimes lapse into long lazy lurking spells. We started out here as a pretty small community and were very focused, for the most part, in our early discussions. As we got to know each other our discussions broadened and also deepened. We became a circle of real friends, I believe. Back then Cathe was a more frequent poster and joined in some of the non-fitness related chats as well.

But change was bound to come, as it does, and especially as our wee leader gained well-deserved fame. IMHO, Cathe has been savvy, astute and gracious in responding to expressed needs for change on the Forums and on her site. For example, she added the "Pregnancy" forum after many requests, and she did it right, bringing Sheila on board immediately for sound, expert advice. She added the "Suggestions" forum, too, to give us a place to focus future workout requests, and she added the Rotations forum when she saw that we were trying to collect and share rotations, and even began posting one each month herself. On her general site she's added more information about equipment, music, clothing, how she and the crew get ready for filming, and Cathe Gear. She moved into the DVD market. Chris has upgraded the look and feel and interactive features of the site periodically, too.

All of these changes were positive, and in keeping with Cathe's focus for her site and her business. She remains one of the most responsive and proactive instructors in the business, and despite her increasing fame she remains a genuinely nice and grounded person.

So I do think we owe her a little self-policing, and I'm not talking about slamming the lid on all things new or non-fitness related at all. I'm just saying this: If we as a group want to understand what Cathe envisions for these forums and what she DOES NOT want to see, we don't need to look very far. Look at the forum titles. Review Cathe's own posts, and pay attention to what Cathe and Chris freeze or delete. There's a common theme here, folks. I've said it before and I'll repeat it: we are Cathe's guests here, on her paid-for bandwidth and on a site that DIRECTLY reflects upon her. She has given us free rein to chat about a huge variety of topics, but I think she has a right to expect us to observe a couple of simple rules: (1) Think twice about what you post. Does it add something positive to the discussion around here? Is it really something that needs to go into Ask Cathe, or can the Educated Crowd help you? Is it related to the forums' general themes? Is what you're looking for available using Cathe's advanced search features, and have you tried that avenue first? And -- (2) Don't say something in content or tone that your mama would disapprove :) or (my personal barometer) that you can't imagine Cathe herself writing. Keep your tone civil and your content clean and appropriate for mass public viewing (and if you wonder about the latter, re-read Cathe's own recent posts and think again about what she's deleted.)

Just my two cents' worth as usual.

Hey, for the record, I, too, change the skivvies every day, but I go farther and change them at bedtime too. Call me fanatic, you wouldn't be the first. ;-)

That was wonderfully articulate Kathy. Thank you.

You must have quite the "skivvies" collection to be changing so often;)

Good point, and one which not everyone has gotten yet.
I suggest considering posters consider whether their posts would be something they would say at a family picnic, rather than something they would say in a bar after a few drinks!

It's good advice. I won't call you a fanatic but I am impressed! Please hang out with Alexis. You could rub off on her and then I won't be wondering if she's wearing clean unders or not!

Hi Shelley!

Yes, I do have quite a collection, as a matter of shameful fact. :) I'm addicted to Kohl's matching sets of Maidenform A Perfect Fit (I think that's the name) bras and skivvies. They're usually under $25 for the set, often are on sale, are beautiful and colorful, last a while (great bang for the buck) and make me feel great and feminine. All good things. ;-)

RE: Hey Miss Bobbi!

If one must be fanatic, there are worse things than a Miadenfrom habit. Believe me, I know! How was your vacation?

RE: Hey Miss Bobbi!

All this talk of Maidenform is making me think of that song from Grease, "It's Raining on Prom Night":

"t's raining on prom night, my hair is a mess
It's running all over my taffeta dress
It's wilting the quilting on my Maidenform
And mascara flows right down my nose, because of the storm"

RE: Hey Miss Bobbi!

Oh, vacation was fabulous, girl, and thanks for asking! We went to Big Sky in Montana with a huge group (45) from my sons' high school, so everybody knew each other -- parents and kids -- and it was a week-long party. To add to the fun, we got out there only to find another group in the SAME lodge from another Atlanta school, so there were more parents and kids who knew each other.

The snow was so-so because the weather was bizarrely warm and sunny (this week it's brutally cold and there's about a foot of new snow since we left there). But the upside of the weather was that it was such comfortable skiing weather. Just gloriously pretty every day except one, when it snowed lightly all day and that was great, too.

I don't ski anymore but I snowshoed and did a lot of snow hiking (I'd never done that before and it was such fun and HARD, let me tell you), and I hit the fitness center with a couple of other moms every single day. I did 45 minutes of intervals on their nice Precor elliptical, and then I did weight work and floor work. We got facials, we did a little shopping, we spent a lot of time in the giant swimming-pool-sized hot tub (nice to sit there with the snow falling on your face, sipping a Chardonnay :)), and speaking of Chardonnay we had plenty of toddies and ate well. It was the perfect last spring break with my dear big baby boy Mr. Senior, and I felt that overwhelming emotion several times, believe me. But I pulled myself back from the brink every time, because there was just no sense dwelling on the mushy negative stuff when it was really such a blast! :)

RE: Hey Miss Bobbi!

Bobbi, Kathy - of course I wear undies every day.....need something to hold the Depends.;)

I go through undie obsessions from time to time. My last obsession was this winter when I bought a ton of Jockey camis and matching undies. I felt so feminine!

RE: Hey Miss Bobbi!

It sounds wonderful. He's a senior? When did that happen? My first is going to be a junior and I already think mushily of the day she's flies away because she wants to go away to college. The University of Arizona is her third pick. She's going to take the world by storm, that one. I can't beleive she used to cry over spelling in the first grade. Every day! Dear old Sam's going into second grade so I don't have to face the empty nest for a time. My husband wants to know when I am going back to going back to school again, but I am not to worried about having something to fall back on yet. :) Good job on keeping up the workouts!I have never been to Montana but you make it sound awfully good!

I would be a great project! I'm so excited! There's so much to fix and so little time! Let's go shopping! You and Bobbi can take me. Of course, if you two chat anything like you post, I may make it a short trip.;)

Actually, you both are quite eloquent. I always speak like I'm running out of cell minutes.
